Hello,
I have a Samsung Captivate Glide i927 (Rogers). It can read the Arabic letters, however it reads them as disconnected letters. For example, instead of reading the letters as the following:
مرحبا
it reads them like this:
م ر ح ب ا
There is no Arabic languge neither in ""Input languages"" nor in ""Settings > Language and keyboard""
If I dowload an arabic keyboard, I will be able to write connected letters as well as read what I had written, but still can't read internet pages, messages, whatsapp msg,... as connected letters.
How to fix this problem? And will the fixing affect the unlocking of the phone; my phone is now unlocked.
Please be aware that am not an expert in programming or developing programs. So please provide me with the solution in steps.

I had the same problem but once I upgraded to android 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich it got resolved, now arabic is shown normally.

you must be install smart keyboard , or , go keyboard for typing
for reading message correctly, install the mirsal.apk from (bazar program)
or, install custom rom

this program is hassle free ! no more start up freeze
Instructions :
After sending the files to your device run them in order :
1- Arabic Keyboard New !!
2- Arabic1 New !!
3- Arabic2 New !!
After a soft reset, Go to Settings >> Input >> Input Method and select Arabic Keyboard from the drop menu. Now your omnia is ready to read and write arabic.

thanks guys for your efforts , i did as above and installed the arabic keyboard successfully but there is a problem still. when i write in arabic it does it from left to right rather than right to left if you know what i mean, so the letters are not forming words and very confiusing to read. any suggestions!!!

Go to Settings >>>Regional Settings>>> Select Arabic (Saudi Arabia). It will be the first on the top of the selection drop down menu.. hope this helps

I have done the above on mine, the date showed in arabic but in reversed letters. The arabic message received are also in reversed letters and the only arabic Keyboard is incomplete and named PCM keyboard.... the result seems strange

greetings, thanks much for the tip, it worked for me but I had to install these files first, then install Imaginet for WM5, then reinstall the same files. Now the arabic reading and writing works, but non of the other imaginet software, i.e. dictionary, prayers time, hijri calendar ..etc. Regards,

Here is the drill .... send those files to your device " my storage "
Go to Programs and scroll down until you find file explorer and locate the files you sent and run them in their sequence arab 1 ... arab 2 .. keyboard .. the device will restart .. go back and run the second file and the keyboard.

Thanks a lot for your help. I finally was able to download the files and they worked beautifully on my Samsung i900.
Previously I posted the same topic on Galaxy s forum and here is the update file for galaxy s2
What does it do:
this update file will add Samsung and swype keyboards with Persian/Arabic/Urdu support to your deodexed roms.
please consider this update has nothing to do with RTL allignment if you like to have RTL support for above mentioned langs follow madmack thread
Why I post this file here:
although the galaxy s update file might work on GS2 but some fonts may cause problem on I9100 ,moreover the swype keyboard on GS2 has some improvements which I prefered to make a new update
Version2 added below, some fonts appear large on screen or keyboard thus I have changed them to fit the screen and keypad layout
How to install:
-Do a backup first
-download this file and install from CWM recovery
(version2 : improvements on fonts)

im sorry for being off topic now but can someone tell me the difference between arabic and urdu? isnt urdu the jordan language? how much different it is? i have slideit with arabic language but i just have contacts to urdu. so whats the difference between these two languages? is the app im using enough or should i change to this?

urdu have nothing to do with arabic, its a independent language, I think it is used in some countries like Pakistan (I'm not sure about the country)
if you speak in arabic just choose arabic from the keyboard settings, do not worry about other languages

Could you please delete T9DB directory from /system (make a backup first) and reboot .
if still have FC flash one more time and wipe cache
Now Im using XXKI3 2.3.5 deodexed and the patch is working without any problem

There was a warning before I sent the msg from my GS2 to change the input method to automatic. I can't see this option under input method in language in settings.
Any suggestions?

you need to arabize your rom first, this patch is only keyboard. if you flash the keyboard patch without arabizing then arabic letters are not reshaped or might be in left to right order

This issue is not related to the keyboard, please do as below to solve this problem
go to messaging >>> press menu >>> choose settings>>> Input mode >>> and select Automatic
then your letters will show correctly

I apologize if this question was asked before, I am a newbie and I installed Juggernaut on my T989 but when I switch to Arabic language I don't get an Arabic keyboard. Can some one please point me in the right direction on how to write in Arabic in this ROM.

I couldn't find any answer any where to why when I change to Arabic the Keyboard does not change in juggernaut 4.1, but I played with it a little bit and installed A.I.type Keyboard Plus and voila it working I can write in Arabic. you will only find one issue if you try to instal A.I.type Arabic Predictionary I get the following error "Incompatible with other applications using the same shared user ID" but for the moment this is not important for me as I dont really need the dictionary.
Hope this help all these having the same issue.
Try swift key x, and download the Arabic language add on, it works great on my T989

Hi, i am using N7100 with custom rom "Alliance" and I have this particular problem where the Samsung keyboard keeps correcting my text.
This problem is only in Arabic language, English is ok even if the keyboard corrects a word rhen I backspace to modify it it will accept the modification but only as I said in English only.
Arabic is still my pain in the head whatever I do it always correct the text. This problem is all over the device in Internet, Facebook even the S-note!

ok I installef the Omega Rom 12 and everything is fine now. don't know what was the problem
