Need help with Wallpapers

Got my new Desire and i have a problem, i want to set a wallpaper that i have but problem is i can only drag the box to like half of the actual wallpaper size which is 480x800 so no fun getting half of the image only.. is there a setting for this?

eh what ? that cant be right, then all images will look really weird and stretched out..

the wallpapers are landscape and spread across all 7 screens. 960*480 sounds about right to me, being that the old 3 screen wallpapers were 640*480.....
you can not have a portrait wallpaper. Just not how android works.

960 by 800 works for me just fine. Not streched or weird.

[Q] Wallpaper Resolution

Hi!
I'm a bit confused. All cellphone websites say that the wallpaper resolution should be 960x800. But my DHD wants to cut my wallpapers, no matter what resolution they are.
Do anyone know why that is?
BTW I'm running stock rom and everything.

When selecting a wallpaper have you tried pressing on the sides of the green square that appears? Arrows will appear and you can drag to re-size
960x800 wallpapers look great on the DHD.

where can i find the best wallpaper for galaxy nexus resolution ?
and also wat is the resolution on the nexus ?

1280x720 minus the top and bottom bars that equal like... 50 pixels or so (if I had to guess, I know people have calculated it).

The wallpapers from zedge are 1440x1280

I find that the wallpapers in the app PicSpeed Wallpapers are the best. I have tried many other apps and I like this one the best.

Correct. The wallpapers should be 2x the screen width by 1x the screen height (1440 x 1280).

this link is the best wallpapers i found for the nexus. they are all correctly formatted for android HD screens like the nexus.

The wallpapers from SGN are 1440x1280

I usually just use my wallpapers that I use on my desktop and crop when I apply as a wallpaper on my phone. Thanks for the links though. I will check those out!

I can recommend Wallpaper Wizardrii app, you can set whole wallpaper instead cropping it.

He asked the resolution of the screen. I responded... If you'll see, I just quoted him asking for resolution of screen, not wallpaper lol.

wallpaper dimensions

Is it possible to use wallpapers without having to crop them,for example when you look at them from gallery,there they are showed in full screen but when i want to use a specific wallpaper the image crops or i have to crop it manually. For **** sake why do you have to do that when we have such a big screen,no matter what wallpaper i download with whatever dimensions i still have to crop them,WHY?
How come you can view any picture in full screen but whey you want it for a wallpaper you have to crop it. Makes no sense whatever.

Download a vertical wallpaper and then set crop size to portrait.! Then you will be able to fit the whole wallpaper!
However, you won't be able to scroll wallpaper on homescreen!
