Got my new Desire and i have a problem, i want to set a wallpaper that i have but problem is i can only drag the box to like half of the actual wallpaper size which is 480x800 so no fun getting half of the image only.. is there a setting for this?
You need to make your wallpapers 960*800
You need to make your wallpapers 960*800
eh what ? that cant be right, then all images will look really weird and stretched out..
the wallpapers are landscape and spread across all 7 screens. 960*480 sounds about right to me, being that the old 3 screen wallpapers were 640*480.....
you can not have a portrait wallpaper. Just not how android works.
960 by 800 works for me just fine. Not streched or weird.

I have an image that is 320x480 that I'd like to set as my wallpaper. However, each time I try, I'm brought to the screen to crop the image horizontally. I can't for the life of me figure out how to set the full image as my wallpaper (no scrolling on the wallpaper).
Any ideas?
You have to make it 640x480 to make it scrollable.
Is that the maximum size the wallpaper can be? My question is does the width apply to 7 screens as well. Because I have an awesome super wide spider-man wallpaper i wanna shrink down for my phone.
I love the brilliant screen ! Looking for some high quality background that can match the PQ of the stock photos.
Try flikie hd wallpapers from the market

That's nice but the problem is Android has that wallpaper scrolling feature so it needs a wide image, not a tall narrow (WVGA) one.
For a Samsung Epic you actually want a 960x800 image. Of course anything that is at least that large in both dimensions should work, you'll just have to crop it. So 1280x800 (a common size) is fine as long as you don't mind cropping off parts of the sides. 1024x1024 iPad wallpapers should also work great, and again that expands the range of wallpapers available to you.
You can search Google for 960x800 as well as 960x854 (Moto Droid resolution). I also like InterfaceLift for wallpapers, some really nice looking landscapes and stuff there. Available in a lot of sizes - just get anything that is at least 960x800. The smallest images available at InterfaceLift that are bigger than 960x800 are the 1024x1024 iPad ones.
Hiya
I found some wallpapers which i would like to use along with Lite'nings Rom.
Only thing is - i only use 2 homescreens. Because of this, i dont have wallpaper scrolling enabled. When i'm trying to use the wallpapers from the link, i loose of the edges, actually i do that with every picture
Tried resize them using Photoshop, didn't help one bit. Might have used wrong resolution
Anyone have any tips on howto fix this issue?
Your link hits a brick wall. 480x800 for static/lockscreen wallpaper 960x800 for scrolling.
edit : heres some pre-cropped ones : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1082365

I think I know what you're trying to say because I'm having the same problem...
It used to be that when you cropped up an image for the wallpaper that you could select the full height of the image to the actual height of the screen. But now the crop tool uses two image frames where the tallest one is for the lockscreen (I think) and the wide one is for the scrolling wallpaper. This means that you can't use the full height of the image for the scrolling wallpaper so with many images you end up zooming in on them and they either look blurry, or you can't actually get the whole image in there, cropping off the top and bottom.
I want to know if there's any apps that will allow you to crop to full height and therefore actually use a widescreen wallpaper at it's proper resolution as your scrolling wallpaper...
For a scrollable wallpaper the max resolution for One X is 1440x1280 if i'm right. Then it looks perfectly on home screen and on lock screen.I've tried also with Full HD wallpapers but it's blurry and it looks really bad,so try 1440x1280 and you should be satisfied :fingers-crossed:
Cheers
Hey Everyone,
I just bought the Tab S 8,4 LTE version, and i got a little issue. I know that the native resolution of the display is 2560x1600. I don't like the stock wallpapers. I downloaded a 2560x1600 wallpaper and installed it. However when the device is in vertical position there are black bars on the display (the image is not full screen). When i flip to landscape the wallpapers is fine. Please help why this is happening. I do not have this issues with the stock wallpapers. Do I have to download a different size. Thanks everyone in advance for the help
Try and app called quickpic. It lets you set a wallpaper to your whole screen res. I dont see any black when portriat with it.
Your native resolution isn't 2560 x 1600, it's 1600 x 2560......think about where the home button is on both models and that tells you the 'natural' wallpaper mode for that model.
Wow, just found apk Image 2 Wallpaper. Gives you perfect fit!
