Just a quick call out on the forums - I need people who are still running untouched Sense to do a tiny bit of audio testing to fix some bugs in CM9/CM10 GSM. If you have CDMA CM9/CM10, please also test this out so we can confirm if the bug is there too.
It is about solving a bug with how the phone handles switching between phone calls and media audio with the headset connected. What happens is, if you have a headset connected, and accept a call, after the call ends, the right audio channel becomes silent. At least, in every CM9/CM10. The incredibly hard working maxwen has been testing many different fixes for this but it seems to not be a kernel related bug.
The link below is for a three second audio file demonstrating this issue. The first second of the file is both channels making noise, the second second is just the right channel, and the third second is just the left channel. Initially, you should hear it as normal through headphones. If you take a call (or make a phone call) with the headphones still connected, and then play the file again, the middle second will be completely silent, as the right channel is no longer playing.
At least, this is the behaviour for all CM9/CM10 GSM users (confirmed!). What we need to do is discern whether or not this also occurs in Stock, and if so, on which versions of stock. Here is the file:
http://www.mediafire.com/?04pivyo00wra2g2
Please test it out, and then report back with your results and software version/kernel version. CM9/CM10 GSM users, please feel free to give it a try as well, though at this point both maxwen and I have confirmed the bug exists in those ROMs. CDMA CM9/CM10 users, definitely test it out. For those still confused, this is a visual representation of what happens:

Aha, so this is what happens. I had reported this issue but didn't notice the problem was with the stereo channels.
I tried it on CM9 RC0 and it happens as described in the OP.
I can restore my stock nandroid near the weekend if no one comes forward.
Thanks for investigating this so thoroughly.
Hi
What I just discovered
Is this happening for you also if you never switch to the speaker during the call?
So all output always over headset.
Cause if I NEVER switch to speaker during the call it works for me now
but have to check what I changed now for that

Yes, all output via the headset on my tests, I didn't test with the speaker.
My testing so far:
1) Start call -> hangup -> connect headset --> audio OK
2) Connect headset -> start call -> hangup --> audio in mono
3) Start call -> connect headset -> hangup --> audio in mono
4) Connect headset -> start call -> disconnect headset -> hangup --> audio in mono
Hi
Thanks then I fixed at least something

After alot of requests its now time to release a new rom. Jelly Bean 4.1.1-r1.
Since this is the first attempt there will be quite some stuff broken so i do not advise to use it as a daily rom.
Working:
Mobile network (call, data, sms etc)
Wifi
Bluetooth
Audio (dont know how much works tough)
this rom doesnt include the audio hack released earlier only the audio wrapper by rogro82 so all credits to him for that
Up to 1080P hardware video decoding
USB storage
The list above is tested by my, not extensively but the basics and they all seem to work correctly!
Not working
Camera
Probably some more stuff!
Also credits/thanks to:
tgascoigne
pab
chris-p
rogro82
cyanogenmod contributors
Changelog 02:
Wifi should be fixed now
Added audio policy from rogro82, again thanks to him for that
All source will be available on my github, still working on setting up the enviroment as you may know so little patience.

Wonderful to see so much jelly bean development,
Will have a full working one way before HTC even thinks about killing it with sense imo.
I'll give it a quick test and report any bugs to you.
Nice. Gonna take this for a spin.

as for:

You need to include the new wvm DRM related files.

Hi everyone
Here is my LiquidSmooth unofficial Jellybean for Gio. Screenshots below.
Download from my website
Again, fully based on TheWhisp (XDA) sources for mini! Thanx and all credits to him and rohan007 (XDA).
Well, in fact it is NOT pure LiquidSmooth. Some sources (qcoms hardware and audio mainly) are from CM. Result is a supersmooth and fast device again from Liquidsmooth.
Sources I took from CM-10:
dalvik
bionic
external/srec
external/aac
hardware/qcom/*
hardware/msm7k
frameworks/av
Offcourse all credits to Liquid-team.
Working:
Phone
Audio
Mic
Video Playback
YouTube playback
3 & 4-pin headsets
Wifi
BT
GPS
USB Mass Storage
Accelerometer
Deepsleep
Kernel 2.6.35.14 (credits: Squadzone)
NOT Working (yet):
Camera
Proximity
Magnetic sensor
Voice Search / Google Now. Closed source, and is for ARM-v7

Could it be, that screenshot & airplane mode from power-button is CM style?
Airplanemode is available in settings --> wireless --> more
For screenshot, search market for app.
Radio is not standard in Liquid, try if you can extract and install it from CM.
Changed download link in OP. Server I was on was a very bad VPS. Had to restart mysqld engine 4 times an hour. It is now stable.

No! I did NOT remove options.
This is NOT CM but it is LiquidSmoothRom. See liquidsmoothroms.com
There are other devs then CM team. So they will have other ideas what to put in a rom and what not.
I compiled the whole thing from source. All packages and apps are liquidsmooth. Just took some CM stuff for hardware support on our phone, all of the rest is 1 on 1 Liquid. No removing has taken place.
I wrote in previous post where you can find airplane mode. In settings, under wireless & networks, there is a "more" options (just below bluetooth).
Tick on it and a menu item will open showing you airplane
thanks already found it

Re: [DEV][ROM][4.2.1][Unofficial] Liquid Smooth - 1/26/2013
Random thought on the bluetooth HSA issue, it might not be a bluetooth issue, but rather a phone.apk issue.

I'm not sure if this is related to the rom or a hardware issue, but my phone just recently started having trouble detecting headphones. I will plug in an audio cable or headphones and the phone will alternate between the speaker, the headphones and just stopping the music. It does this randomly, and I can't seem to figure out specific conditions for it to occur.

Surround Sound/True Stereo MOD for the LG G2
TO INSTALL THIS MOD ON LOLLIPOP: USE THE MANUAL INSTALLATION METHOD! THE APP IS ONLY FOR KITKAT.
This MOD requires ROOT
What is this?
This is an app that allows the phone to use the earpiece in combination with the loudspeaker to play sounds and music, thus resulting in a true stereo-like effect. The app has a set of modified mixer-paths.xml files which are used to enable the true stereo mod and gives you he option to choose between clockwise (cw) rotation and counter-clockwise (ccw) rotation of the device, depending on how you normally rotate your device.
Is it safe?
Yes, but make a backup before starting. I've been thoroughly testing it on my LG G2 running OptimusG3 1.4.1 and CloudyG3 2.1, Pardus HD Sensation Black and Stock. I tuned the sound to what I think the earpiece can handle without getting damaged. The earpiece is very clear and produces wonderful sound, but it's not that loud at all.
Other members of this fantastic community have tested the MOD on LiquidSmooth 4.0 (Lollipop) and on Stock LG firmware and reported that it works flawlessly! So yes, at this stage, it is safe to say that is
Installation instructions
1. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP - or make sure you know how to get your device back to a working state in case it gets stuck in a boot loop!
2. Install the Mixer App and grant it root permissions.
3. You will be greeted by the following interface:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Choose whether you want CW or CCW rotation. If you normally rotate your device to the left (so that the earpiece is on your left side), choose CCW. NOTE: For CloudyG3 Users you choose the opposite of this.
If you normally rotate your device to the right, so that the earpiece is on your right, choose CW. (CCW for CloudyG3 users!)
3. Press enable Stereo and reboot your device.
General piece of recommendation - Use this mod in conjunction with dorimanx kernel, as dorimanx kernel allows you to tune the loudspeaker volume easily using STweaks. You may need to turn down the volume quite a bit (-11 in STweaks makes the sound very balanced) to avoid the loudspeaker overruling the earpiece. But then you'll really notice power of this mod, cf. this picture:
Test the mod
To test if this works see: Left/Right Stereo Audio/Visual Test.: http://youtu.be/dvqbq_0jZ_U
I don't like this, what do I do?
Open the Mixer App again and tap the "Disable" Button. Reboot and you're good to go!

1. MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP - PLEASE! Please make a nandroid so you can restore your phone in case it goes sour! I may be able to provide a flashable zip in the future, but till then, make a nandroid!
2. Copy your current mixer_paths.xml from /system/etc to somewhere safe then download mixer_paths.xml.
3. Move it to /system/etc and give it 644 permissions. 644 permissions looks like this:

If you use dorimanx kernel and tweak the loudspeaker volume to - 10, you will get an idea of how loud it gets =)
It can't get as loud as the loudspeaker but it's definitely loud enough for every day usage.
Currently on CM12 with Render Kernel and using Mixer14.apk, and it is not working. Both CW and CCW is not producing sound in the earpiece and the loudspeaker is as normal.
Before there was the mixer app, there was the mixer-paths.XML which we used to replace the one in /system/etc/ . During that time, media playing works perfectly with stereo, but during phone calls, the earpiece is set on a permanent high volume and cannot be set down, so it was impossible to put the phone to the ear.

hello,
i have a problem, i had it with both AICP and now with RR, if i make a video, or i call someone, the microphone works, even calls on whatsapp work, but when in a conversation i try to record an audio, it turns out very low, listening to it, even from other phones, it sounds to a very low volume, and I am obliged to record audio with an external program and then send what I recorded as an audio track on whatsapp.
what can it be? is there any file I can edit to raise the volume of whatsapp audio when I record??
thanks!

I have same trouble with my z2 in RR...... yes only in whatsapp...............
Any help?????
Hey, I also experienced it. My mic sound is too low whenever I'm in video calls or calls (using loudspeaker) via VOIP (Whatsapp, Line). However, the mic works well in normal calls, and in voice recordings. I'm using RR 5.8.5 in zenfone 2. Is it a bug in RR? because I saw some people using RR also experienced it.

I used two or three roms based on lineage 14 and 14.1... All of them have this bug. It's pretty annoying. I don't have a fix. =/

I use AOKP, but it has the whatsapp bug. I love the rom, though. It's constantly being updated.
