any way to get them with STOCK music player? i know you can slide down notification bar on swipe lock, but is there no luck for us pattern lock users?
using telus i747m, unrooted completely stock. i am not interested in a mod/rooting to get this to happen. just wondering if i'm just missing something compeltely obvious .

Restoring the AOSP lock screen is the only thing that has worked for me.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S III
guess i'll just have to use swipe lock then..
hopefully lockscreen music controls will come with the jb update.

Hi All,
I was reading an article today, and in it noticed an image of a circular unlock screen which allows you to access messages and call logs directly from the lock screen. The image I'm referring to can be found here;

Does anybody know how to use/install this on the Galaxy Nexus?
Regards,
Use this ROM:

Thanks for the quick reply. So is there no other way to achieve this than to flash a custom rom?
Not at present as it's a custom lock screen
You can do that with WidgetLocker. Don't believe all of the trash saying you need a custom ROM.

Locker Widgets or Themes
Would either the GO Locker or the Widget Locker allow a different lock screen when one is on Exchange and only the pin lock screen is allowed?
It would be nice to have an unlock method that is secure but yet something that can be down will no looking at the screen .....driving.

He's right except for one small detail
Widget Locker and Go Locker are trash compared to the stock lock screen because they don't function as cleanly and as perfectly as the stock lock screen.
So yeah, don't believe all that trash saying you need a custom ROM /s
except for the part where the custom lock screen in that ROM is 100x better and smoother than widget locker and go locker which suffer from that horrible 5 second lock problem.

Enable root helper in WidgetLocker. Bam. No delay. Complete customization. WL is buttery smooth for me.
RootzBoat v6.1 rom has functionality built in. I'm not sure if its a custom lockscreen or just something the modded in themselves.
But it's cool.
ok, i was watching qbking77's international galaxy s2 ics leak review (here), and i got to thinking.
the ics version of the touchwiz lockscreen basically displays a circle with a lock in it wherever you touch a finger. you then drag out to unlock.
my idea.
modify it so that you still have that for unlock, but if you touch with two fingers, it displays the speaker, and when you drag them out of the circle, it silences it.
what do you guys think? i'm no dev, so if a dev likes the idea, feel free to use it.
I just wish I had that lock screen.

try it

i would love to try it. but i have no knowledge of dev work whatsoever. wish i did. just trying to get an idea out there.
This may or may not be helpful, but I use WidgetLocker and it has an ICS slider theme that allows you to choose 4 different actions, depending on which direction you move the slider. So I still swipe right to unlock, but swipe up for flashlight, left for camera, and down for ringer toggle. Not sure if there are drawbacks to doing it this way (I'm an android noob, still on rooted EG30 with stock kernel), but it works nicely for me.
Its silly they didn't add this. I know you can use the notification bar within the lockscreen if there is no security but I want the security. Yes I know I can get PowerAMP/PlayerPro and use the app/ICS lockscreen but want to avoid that?
I know you said you want to avoid it but I bought PowerAmp and it's so much better than the stock player it's well worth getting even without the lock screen control it gives you. Just my two cents - sorry I can't offer any help with the stock player.
Security
I have noticed that my spotify music control only comes on when i have a pattern enabled in security.
I would say Widget locker, and some widgets.

no ruins the swipe lock then and all its features. I was actually looking for a way to get the controls on the swipe lock. It so dam annoying :crying:. Samsung always messes up the lockscreen on all there devices.
My first Galaxy S and SII both had music control on the lock screen but when you enabled security you would then loose "swipe lockscreen" and just be prompted with the security screen. With the S3 since they added the swipe lockscreen on top of the security screen I was hoping for native music controls but they messed up again. Seems like the reason is because the notification bar can be accessed from the swipe lockscreen so no need to clutter the lockcreen but of course it does not work when you enable security.
PowerAmp is actually not bad and the ICS lockscreen works well its still annoying you have to get to the ICS security lockscreen before a track can be changed, main reason i wanted it on the swipe screen was while driving in a car.
This is a major feature for me and was actually the sole reason why i returned the S2 for the hTC Raider and kinda hoped they sorted it out by now.
Try "Notification Toggle" since ICS and JB let you use the pull down even when locked (not sure about that if there is a lock code/pattern. but its quick and works pretty well.
i just have the FF/REW/Pause-Play .. works great!
this?
You can pull the notification bar down by default anyways if you don't have security. The point here is to pull down with security.
My music controls work as long as I use pattern or face unlock.
seems you are using google music am i correct?
Also stock ROM?
Yep

I just noticed that on the sprint Jellybean leak, the way folders is implemented in the stock touchwiz has really improved! Sure it may not be as easy as simply dragging the icons onto each brother, but still looks slick!

i think the new jellybean update allows for drag and drop folders. does anyone know if it comes with lockscreen music controls though?

You still can't have lockscreen music controls.
Well in the Gnote II port anyways which runs 4.1.1
You can although drag down the notification bar and control it that way for music! So it's better than nothing :good:

Not if you have security enabled, this has always been my issue with Sammy.
Also note you can use any other player such as Rocket/PowerAMP etc and get the native lock screen controls. When I was Stock i used Google Music and had control on the security lock screen.

Hello,
I was a bit surprised when I found out that I can pull down my status bar while my s4 mini is locked - on my old s3 it was not possible.
It seems to me that it doesn't match the use of a lockscreen...
Can I anyhow deactivate this?
Thanks!

If you use a password/pin/pattern lock, that should disable the pull down.

Just tried - yes, that works... thanks! But can you tell me why it is possible if I don't use it?
Its always possible if you don't have a secure lock screen. It's been like that on my previous Galaxy S phones including the S3. I think its just so you can view any notifications without the need to unlock the device that's all.

Well... I think it a design decision by Google... No secure lock = access to your phone anyways = why bother, let have pull down menu enabled....
I also wish there was a feature to disabling it with insecure lockscreen...
AFAIK, This has been a feature of Android starting from Ice Cream Sandwich. If you don't have a secure lockscreen, then the statusbar can be pulled down in the lockscreen
If you'd rather not have a lock pin then you can use a 3rd party lock screen app like widgetlocker. I use it with its roothelper feature to disable the notification curtain when locked.
Now if only Kevin would add this feature to Nova Launcher so my kids couldn't change any of my settings! Come on Kevin!
