Urgent help needed with bootloop and dying battery - HTC One X

EDIT: Never mind. I panicked!

farnsbarns said:
I know I'm gonna get told off for this but I need help and I need it quick before my battery dies.
I unlocked via HTC dev OK
I flashed CWM 5.8.4.0
I downloaded the tripnraverCM10 rom
I extracted boot.img and flashed via fastboot
I adb pushed the rom (entire zip?)
I wiped/factory reset
I wiped cache
I wiped dalvic
I flashed the rom zip (Which I had renamed?) via CWM
I get a boot loop. I cannot charge and I cannot switch off
Please help!

Yes, I'm a nitwit. I was merrily renaming zips to make life easier and made a mistake. I was only flashing the Gapps after a renaming **** up. Thanks for you response though!

stuck in bootloop

i restarted my phone and its stuck on bootloop, what do i do?
Try reflashing the ROM without wiping. BTW, for better help, honestly, you need to explain a lot more than the 3-4 words you have posted.
Actually i got the same prob. I disconnected from usb without pressing turn off (i use cyanogen 7.0.3 stable). After doing so, adw launcher didnt seem to respond so i decided to reboot. After that, i got boot loop on reboot. Flashing the rom again seems to solve the problem, but only until next reboot. Any suggestions?

The same type of question,2-3 sentance, no spec of phone. Dude post your spec.
Else try a clean install, formatting boot, system, cache, dalivc cache, user data, ext , etc.

Nop,not necessarily. Cos some will do it as default. But some wont. But it will do no harm if u do, other than consuming 2-5 minutes .

Ok , then the option remaining is restore from backup. If u have the backup of current rom, go to advanced backup in cwm and do system resrore only. And check if it works. If it wont, do full wipe and do a complete restore. No more optns.:-(

i dont have a backup, unfortunantly, looks like i will have to wait until future releases of splash ics then to see if the problem is with other wildfires trying to run that ROM or if it is just mine :-(
Should i redownload the rom to see if that works for me?
Tried wiping data/cache/dalvik cache/system/data-factory reset, and then reflash? 1st boot always takes more time btw.

[SOLVED] Stuck in Boot Animation with this ROM

I used CWMR and installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778190
When I power it on, it stays on a Boot Animation screen (a colorful X that glows) for an indefinite amount of time. I left it there for around an hour before giving up and restoring to my backup (rooted) Gingerbread.
Anyone know what might be my problem? Thanks.
P.S: I searched the thread, I couldn't find a solution to my problem.

this has happened to me before....you are probably going to have to boot into download mode. Hopefully you have the samsung drivers loaded onto your pc. When you get odin booted up and it recognizes your device, click the .pdf button...that is the only button on odin you need to press!!!! When you are prompted for the file load the .tar file then click start....It may take 3-5 mins to finish it will reboot. You will now have to root again. Hope this helped.

Same problem here cannot wipe cache but I can install roms they just wont work properly I think its something with permissions....
Ok so here is how I fixed it. First I followed this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359 steps 1-8. Then I followed this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481141 steps 1-7. Then I downloaded superuser3.1 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698897 Installed that with recovery. Finally I re installed the rom that I was trying to install.
I know its a bit much but it should get you back up and running.

Doing this worked good. I did flash 3 different recovery versions before rerooting my phone I think the permissions were corrupt.

Really? That's not a fix; it's not even advice. You're just suggesting he give up and start over. He just made a bad build.prop edit. All he has to do is undo the changes he made via ADB and reboot. It's Android tweaking 101.

If you already wiped. Then yes reflash the rom.
For your knowledge, for next time make a nandroid backup before making any major modding.

Aside from the ADB fix for those who failed to do a nandroid backup, this is the best advice so far. Recovery is your friend. ALWAYS DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE TWEAKING!!

Yeah, take a Nandroid, if you can't at least backup your build.prop dude. Never change it unless it's absolutely necessary.

Odd question for a somewhat noob
So ya I have had the SGS3 T-Mo google wallet hack by editing the build.prop for a while, works great! Today I went to to put the copied original build.prop back into system and renamed edited/hacked one to _build.prop, but it got stuck at Samsung logo at boot. Recovery & Download mode OK. I had a CWM backup from a month ago, I know I should have done a backup up & at least weekly while developing apps, but i have now recovered back to the old one, and man it's old.
What i am looking for is can I can I go and edit/replace the build.prop in a CWM backup? Or push it through ADB in Recovery mode?
Note:
I did try using ADB while in CWM, but phone did not get recognized in ADB, needed phone back, so just recovered last month old backup for now. If I can recover the looped backup, and get ADB to recognize device, then i know I can just push it to the folder, but will ADB work in CWM recovery mode? Never done much ADB in recovery or DL mode.

Sorry i just realized i posted in the wrong forum. Didn't realize this was Note until after post, my bad, sorry

[Q] Stuck on boot loop

Hi guys,
New to this forum so apologies if this isn't posted in the right place.
Just need a bit of help if anyone has time..
I've been using CyanogenMod for quite a while on my HTC One X and initially didn't have any problems. A few weeks ago the phone started to randomly reboot & music would just stop playing when it felt like it. I went to update to a few of the nightlies but I kept getting stuck on the boot logo so I went back to the initial CM rom I had been using.
Today I decided to be adventurise and try out a different rom altogether. Wiped everything, and went to install from SD only to be landed with the same problem with the new rom, stuck on logo. Now when I go back to try install the inital CM rom it's having the same problem. I can't seem to get it working at all. I'm using Clockwork Recovery so I also can't seem to mount the storage to put the boot.img onto the phone itself.
Apologies for the length of the post, I'm at my wits end
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
