[SOLVED] Stuck in Boot Animation with this ROM - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used CWMR and installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778190
When I power it on, it stays on a Boot Animation screen (a colorful X that glows) for an indefinite amount of time. I left it there for around an hour before giving up and restoring to my backup (rooted) Gingerbread.
Anyone know what might be my problem? Thanks.
P.S: I searched the thread, I couldn't find a solution to my problem.

I tried installing it again, this time wiping data, cache, and d.cache.
I think I missed data the first time.

stuck in bootloop

i restarted my phone and its stuck on bootloop, what do i do?
Try reflashing the ROM without wiping. BTW, for better help, honestly, you need to explain a lot more than the 3-4 words you have posted.
Actually i got the same prob. I disconnected from usb without pressing turn off (i use cyanogen 7.0.3 stable). After doing so, adw launcher didnt seem to respond so i decided to reboot. After that, i got boot loop on reboot. Flashing the rom again seems to solve the problem, but only until next reboot. Any suggestions?

The same type of question,2-3 sentance, no spec of phone. Dude post your spec.
Else try a clean install, formatting boot, system, cache, dalivc cache, user data, ext , etc.

Do I perform the permission fix after I install the rom

Nop,not necessarily. Cos some will do it as default. But some wont. But it will do no harm if u do, other than consuming 2-5 minutes .

Ok , then the option remaining is restore from backup. If u have the backup of current rom, go to advanced backup in cwm and do system resrore only. And check if it works. If it wont, do full wipe and do a complete restore. No more optns.:-(

i dont have a backup, unfortunantly, looks like i will have to wait until future releases of splash ics then to see if the problem is with other wildfires trying to run that ROM or if it is just mine :-(
Should i redownload the rom to see if that works for me?
Tried wiping data/cache/dalvik cache/system/data-factory reset, and then reflash? 1st boot always takes more time btw.

Install 4ext recovery, do a full wipe and try installing again...

Yeah I think the problem is probably not wiping dalvik cache, cache partition and performing factory reset. Clear everything then try again.

Blame the devs for not clarifying that TDJs scripts only work with TWRP and CWM 5.0.2.7. I tried to get their attention so they could post this vital information but they seem not to care. As far as where to get CWM 5.0.2.7, strangely enough I don't know.. I recommend flashing TWRP if you're going to stick to touchwiz ROMs. Download goomanager from the play store and update you're recovery. It will flash it within android so you don't have to worry about any fails within the recovery.

[Q] AOKP stuck on boot screen

I have an HTC one v CDMA (Virgin Mobile(PrimoC)), and i tried to install AOKP, but when it booted it never got past the "Initiating Swagger" boot screen.
I followed all the instructions, using TWRP to wipe the dalvik, cache, and system, and then install the zip and gapps.
I'm using the build "aokp_primoc_unofficial_Nov-18-12.zip", the gapps "gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip", and the boot.img that came in the zip.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?
Thanks.

I held the volume down button as it booted, and when the menu came up I hit fastboot.
Then I typed into cmd from there:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and it said it was successful.

I'm pretty sure I did.
I went into recovery (TWRP), went to wipe, and hit dalvik, then cache, then system (I didn't hit factory reset)
Is there something I missed?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Yeah, you left the important one, factory reset...if you don't the phone won't boot mate
Sent from my HTC One V using xda premium
@don: it will boot but there will b million FCs and many other probs.
now do this--->
1. download rom and gapps, transfer them to root of SD card.
2. place boot.img in fastboot folder.
3. go into bootloader, FIRST flash the boot.img in fastboot(does the screen say FASTBOOT USB when u connect the phone to the PC?)
4. go into recovery, then FULL WIPE-factory reset, erase cache and dalvik cache.
5. then flash the ROM.
6. boot into the rom.then again enter into recovery and then flash gapps.
do the above steps in the same order all over again....

Thank you very much all those who helped.
Your help was greatly appreciated.
One more question: Will I need to flash a different kernel if I want to use, say, CM10, or PACman, or Paranoid Android?
(I used the kernel that came in the AOKP zip)

[Q] Stuck on Dirty Unicorns Boot Animation

Hi,
I was trying to flash my Evo 4G Supersonic to Unofficial Dirty Unicorns 4.2.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2346016&page=3) rom and got stuck on the boot animation for over 1/2 hour, it never booted.
I am safe now because I restored to my original rom, (MIkG 3.11 which is gingerbread) but I really would like to upgrade this phone to a newer OS version before I have to finally say good bye to it and go with whatever phone companies are giving for free.
I'm using Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 to flash this ROM, and I'm cleaning data and cache before flashing the ROM and GAPPS. My SD Card is also partitioned to use APP2SD and it works well in my current ROM.
Has anyone experienced this same issue? or can you recommend any steps I may be missing?
Thank you
Rich
