With my stock root Gingerbread phone, I had gone into the terminal as superuser and previously blocked all of the Sprint OTA updates, so naturally I was quite surprised that somehow the ICS update was pushed to my phone regardless. I do not wish to install it, but it has apparently consumed about 200MBs of memory and is constantly harassing me with the update messages. After searching multiple forums, my root file explorer, another application called Rom Toolbox Lite (that according to Lifehacker is supposed to find the update on the Galaxy S2), I have looked everywhere for where this mysterious 200MB update is stored, but I still cannot find it (and I want to delete it so that it frees up much needed memory), and also, I'm getting freakin' tired of the constant popup harassment to install the update. Can someone please, step by step, walk me through how to delete the update and prevent the popups from reappearing?
Thanks much!!!

Yes, I did see that previously. As it turns out, through a little more trial and error, I realized the problem was my file explorer, which even though it claimed to be a root file explorer, could not see the contents of the /cache folder. I switched to another app and was able to delete the update and install fotakill. Everything appears to be working smoothly. Sorry to bother you, and thank you very much for your assistance. Now I can wait to install a rooted ICS or Jellybean when A)I feel like most of the bugs are worked out, and B)I have the time to f--- with it.
No bother at all. Glad it worked out.

Hello im working on a MIUI rom for this phone. I ported my MIUI rom from the sprint galaxy s3 and need someone to test it. The rom is based on CM10. I dont have this device so its up to you guys to test it. What im looking for is does it boot and do all the core functions work(aosp wise) and if LTE works please report back when you can
http://d-h.st/hHx
also have to include this Disclaimer: Im not responsible for bricked devices or damaged phones. You made the choice to test this and you knew the risks
I went ahead and tried it. I used TWRP. Systemui crashed for me as well as the keyboard. I couldn't check signal bars due to this. Calling does work though. I didn't check everything but thought it was a start. I was able to nandroid back to a backup without issue.
Quick edit: I don't have LTE to check so I didn't check that.

Ok, I d/l the second one but I will start d/l the first one. Can you just tell me how I get a log of SystemUI FC? Do I have to run the logcat app?
I'm sorry man, I'm not too savvy a tester.

Hey gang, I am wondering if there is a way to get the MB1 update without rooting. I keep trying to get it by manually pinging update firmware. But it is a no go. I have to stay Unrooted for a period of time but want the most recent firmware and after unrooting all I seem to be able to get to is LJ7. Thanks in advance!

Take it to sprint first thing they do before servicing is make sure it's updated with the latest. Just say your having trouble getting a signal.

Ok. I will try that. I was just in there yesterday becuase of a LTE/CDM a switching problem. They apparently didn't update it. I will go over there again though.

If your trying to get the stock update you can go to app manager and go into all and find google services frame work . click on it and clear data and force stop then go try the update samsung software. May have to try it a few times but it worked for me.

So I have yet to receive the Gmail update and tried to install the apk from android police. It says installing then fails saying an app package with this name already exists. I am definitely still on 4.3 though even deleting Gmail through TB and installing the apk didn't work. I'm on slimrom build 6with gapps package if that matters. Any help?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
4.3?? That's confusing itself as there's no such for our device. But all you do us download the apk click on it hit install. That's it. It should install right over your existing Gmail app. You might have a bad download also

"4.3" probably a typo. And I had problems like that as well where the package installer read "A package with that name already exists" or something like that. Best thing for OP to do is just wait till the Gmail updates on its own. But from what I heard, it's not all that great..
It's a matter of personal taste, some people don't like the look but it's functionality and layout is much much better than before it gets :thumbup: from me.

Using a file explorer app like es file explorer or Root Explorer go to system >Apps and find Gmail in there and delete it. Make sure you set to read/write in order to delete. Then reboot the phone then hut install on the apk file you downloaded.

Giving me issues. Restored some apps from play store, but I can't open them due to Knox security seeing it as risks. I froze Knox, but still no go.

Having the same issue. How do we get rid of this crap?
---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:16 PM ----------
Got it. Go into Titanium, search for Knox. Freeze all 6 apps and reboot. Walaa, no more BS!
Damn, in was thinking I should try rebooting. Just removed all my apps manually. LOL. Oh well.

I unis taller 4 Knox apps with titanium and had no problems since
It's working again. Must have been Google, it happened to my girls phone for a while. Yes, we need Tweaked!!! Haven't tried blue tooth yet. Was hooked into my pc, but didn't notice. Was trying to pull my system res and framework...want to modify some things. Don't have the right USB drivers installed yet.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
Heck yeah we definitely need Tweaked! I've been having issues with a number of apps and restoring data, it seems to be random as to which apps work and which don't. As long as I just restore the app from Titanium its not a problem, but the data is the issue. I'm assuming this is more of a problem coming from Android 4.1 to 4.3 and the fact that it uses different locations for this type of data.
Try this, worked for me:

Knox is pissing me off. I just backed up and removed all 4 knox apps. Still seems to be blocking blocklauncher from running. UGG.
There are 6 if you search in titanium. That may help.

Well, I have 3 apps that will not install on my new AT&T LG G3: ESPN Scorecenter, Open Table and Amazon Mobile.
I have searched on XDA and everywhere else for a cure. I have tried removing the SIM, clearing the Play Store Data, Airplane mode, etc and nothing works. Is anyone else having this issue? I guess I will just sideload the apk if I can find them but I also read where this may be due to the dpi issue. Our screens may be too high of a dpi and the app won't allow an install.
Any help is appreciated.
