howto install Adobe Flash player on CM9 Rom.
copy the original install_flash_player.apk into /system/app,
reboot into recovery, clean the cache, clean dalvik cache,
reboot recovery, reboot system.
install the latest or the last distribute Adobe Flash player .apk,
test using default browser (maybe you have always enable the plugin/ addon at browser setting).
good luck :victory:
Does this really wotk coz it works almost OK on GB...has anyone tested this ?
what do u mean by flash player not working on cm9?
?
Yeah what means?
Adobe Flash player on my machine running cm9 works quite well, and I'm updated to latest version too.
One more thing, use LuckyPacher to patch flash player seem can enhance its function (I'm testing so far), maybe
I think you mean cm10 roms as JB use html5

I wear my CM9 follow the instructions above but why not work on my device?
No need for this, Flash Player is still available indirectly via Google Search.

Hi, now I've been able to play videos, play games in my browser. I use dolphin browser application beta for this application already using HTML5.

hi, im new to rooting. i've just rooted my desire with cyanogenmod 7, and the android market doesn't seem to work? i can't download google map or any other apps from it. any help? thanks alot.
any help? thanks
i guess you tried rebooting? that worked the last time I had problems with cyanogenmod, that being said i don't use it daily so I'm no expert
yup, i tried rebooting but it didn't work too..
Try wiping the cache, if that doesn't work, do a factory reset and wipe everything, do a fresh install and put gapps on.
does that mean i have to flash it back to stock rom and start all over again?
Have you tried to flash the G-apps again? Here's the link of the newest one: Google apps choose the CyanogenMod 7 (Gingerbread) version and flash it with Rom Manager or Recovery.
have you modified the .zip file , deleting some files for exemple?
I done it, and removed "Package Installer.apk" one time, so downloads were beginning but stopped each time immediately
Market download issues
I'm having similar issues using GingerVillain 1.9. Small market updates are downloading without issue, larger ones such as the latest Google Maps update are giving the message "download unsuccessful". I had similar issues when the market was updated from the old style, and wonder whether google are tinkering in the background.

i don't think i've removed any of those files..
I am having similar problems. I have installed the gapps, but it only installs a couple of google apps. When I try to install from the market some install fine but others (angry birds for example) don't. I see the downloading icon for split second then it goes away and the download stops.
Any ideas?

Original Thread.
For those that want information I've a GSM model and I flashed this upon
.58 Enhanced v2
-Firstly Flash DooMLoRDs ICS Beta Kernel via fastboot OK!
-Boot the phone into recovery OK!
-Perform a Factory Reset OK!
-Wipe cache and dalvik-cache OK!
-Flash the Zip from SD Card in recovery OK
-REBOOT and Enjoy! - Stuck On Kernel Screen / DoomLord Kernel ICS Beta
I'm unsure what to do, all the other roms seem to work well for me.
This rom is built based on KA14 Test Play which does not work for me either, and Cyanogen 9 RC2 is sluggish at games at least for me.
Cyanogen 7 is slow on the menu and all apps always stay in memory.
I just want to add this rom to my collection I.E I make a backup of each Rom and Kernel so I can switch without using a laptop.

Hi , what was your rom before trying to install miui?
It seems so I had two recoveries at that point of which one being the leftover and which is terminated upon forst boot and one in the IcsBeta Kernel. What have I done is used the leftover CWM and that was the error. Anyway I found out this by accident when trying to enter flashmode and I didn't realise the kernel booted. I've flashed this rom using the kernel's touchscreen recovery and that worked for me. Anyway to answer your question it was 2.3.4 stock (.58) Enhanced version v2 anyway considering this is as an ICS ROM I should be able to get to it with any Gingerbread version.
Sent from my R800i using xda app-developers app and Miui v4 - Which IS installed.
Today I read a little guide from youmobile, about installing the new camera in android 4.2. (cant post link since im new)
I did everything except I forgot to backup first. Now everytime i start up the phone, open camera or open gallery it comes "Gallery has crashed".
Anyone knows what I might have done wrong? I used ROM Manager -> Boot into clockwordmod recovery -> flash zip -> and i chose the zip.
The camera is working trough apps like Snapchat, but not trough the stock app.
I could also use the stock 4.1.2 gallery and camera .apk so I atleast can get back my camera.
I am running on 4.1.2 takju nexus, with Air Kernel 3.0.46.
Please help.

try this zip. it's fixed so that everything should work.
http://www.mediafire.com/?e2yx2146j1qrv89
if you still get crashes, you may want to reflash your Rom (without wiping).
also try fixing permissions, either in clockwork or rom manager

Thanks. I'm new tho, so what do you mean by fixing permissions. Could you give me step by step?
Go into recovery(CWM) and select the fix permissions option (might be under advanced)
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Installing the .zip file already fixes permissions. Have you tried renaming the apk to Gallerygoogle2.apk in your preferred file manager?
second post, the link works perfectly.
Thanks!
Having issues with latest nightly CM 10 (cm-10-20121206-NIGHTLY-maguro.zip) and gapps (gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip).
Here's the process I followed:
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.0
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Mounts and storage > format system
Advanced > wipe battery stats
Flash cm-10-20121206-NIGHTLY-maguro.zip
Flash gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
After doing this, I don't have any google apps. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, do you?
If you have Google play store and can sign into your Google account, you are OK. Some of the Google apps such as YouTube and Gmail are now not included with the Gapps package as they can be downloaded.
If the packaged failed to install, what are the errors given by recovery?

I know the CM10 ROM includes play store, and that I have the ability to search for each Google app individually and install it manually, but why? Why do I have to?
Recovery does not give an error during install. I get the nice asterisk banner and it says 'Google Apps for Android 4.1.2' then it verifies md5 installs and says Installation complete! Successful.
I have tried with ClockworkMod recovery environment v6.0.1.0 as well as TWRP v2.3.2.1
I find it hard to believe I am the only one with this issue, but it also surprises me that I don't see any other posts with this specific problem. I'm sufficiently confused.

It seems you are not installing the latest gapps from Goo.im. According to this guide. You have to flash the latest available Gapps. You can find it here on the date 30/11/2012.
Try installing that Gapps and I hope it works with you

I appreciate the response. The latest CM10 for Maguro is only Android 4.1.2, which is why I used the corresponding version of gapps. In fact, if I go to your second link, the 30/11/2012, it specifically states '!!Not compatible with 4.1.x.!!'.
It may be time to try Paranoid Android or some similar ROM with gapps baked in. Although I'm a huge fan of Cyanogen's work.

Oh I noticed something now. Actually I read that it is always better to wipe cache and dalvik before flashing any Gapps.
One more thing, try installing the CM 10 only then download GooManager and use it to download and install the Gapps via GooManager.
I know that your method is very fine from recovery and these are only another ways but sometimes using another way really works
Good Luck

No, CM10 doesn't include play store. it comes from Gapps. In the past most google apps have to be provided separately from CyanogenMod because of copyright issue (for more information you can have a look at Rootzwiki's post on Gapps). Since Gmail, youtube, maps and navigator weren't available from google market (now called play store), they came packaged with Gapps. Now, those apps have appeared on google play store so i guess the dev has left them out from the Gapps zip to reduce size of the zip.
if you failed to flash Gapps, you will not have play store. the fact you have it means you flashed it correctly. I just checked with the included apks of your version of Gapps. you will get google talk, play store, voice search, calender sync and contact sync, face unlock, plus a collection of background services. no gmail, no youtube, no map, no current, no google+, no reader. anything the play store can provide are not included.
so, Gapps did install correctly in your phone, but it doesn't have those apps you expected to see.

It all makes sense now. Thank you. :victory:
No custom rom is allowed to include gapps. They are not a part of AOSP, but property of Google. Google doesn't OWN AOSP, but maintains it as a member of Open Handset Alliance, for which they're a major force.
Google asked CM - politely, i would expect - to remove them in the past, because it's the most used, AOSP-based, custom rom.
And stop with those myths that one needs to wipe caches to flash roms or gapps, not true. Wipe data (to switch roms) or format /system, yes, to start fresh; but even then, there's no need to wipe caches. I assure you, no bootloop comes because you didnt wipe caches.

I too was in the same boat but your thread helped me understand :highfive:
Dear Community,
this is my first post on XDA-devloppers.
I ask you for help as y have a serious promlem with CM 9.1 on my xperia arc.
I flashed CM on my phone using the latest stable rom downloaded from the official cyanogenmod website (cm-9.1.0-anzu.zip)
Everything worked perfectly and i was delightet.
Unfortunately, after two days my phone crashed.
By crashed i mean that it first reacted very slow then froze. After this, the screen went black (backlight on) an then dark.
no button could get me back to lockscreen.
then suddenly the phone rebootet.
this happened every time about one minute after booting my phone.
As the problem didn't seem to get away i decided to reflash it:
wipe SD
delete davlik cache
reseting to factory
and then istalling the same rom and gapps from zip
everything worked fine again, but after one day i got the same problem again.
what can I do to fix this?
I would appreciate any kind of help
and excuse me if this isn't the right forum (search also, didn't help)
sincerly,
PraetorAce

You can try the nightly versions if the stable doesn't work for you.
Take out the boot.img inside the ROM zip and flash with fastboot. Then put ROM zip onto SD card and flash with CWM.

I tried a few roms and it didn't work.
with the latest nightley version from cyanogenmod website gapps wans't installed properly and my home button didn't work.
and the roms I tried from the link you gave me abortet the installation.
i always flashed the kernel (boot.img) via flashtool and then used CWM to: 1 wipe davlic cache, 2 reset to factory and 3 install from zip
will it maybe work with odin (or is odin only for samsung devices?)
thnx

Odin is for Samsung devices only. If CM9.1 doesn't work for you then you might want to try CM10.
