What I understand is that it would need to be ported but that it would be possible.
It would be a big surprise if Samsung release Tizen update for Waves.
But let's dream and wait a bit. Maybe we are going to have the surprise as iphone 3GS owner with ios 6 !

With our long years experience with Samsung, it is obvious that Samsung will never update WAVE 1-2-3 to Tizen. It's not in the line of Samsung's way of thinking.
Though we have rights to dream and dream big dreams, all dreams with Samsung usually end in shattered dreams. So better save our dreams for hopes of new fresh Tizen phones (if any).

sorry but not a useful or inspiring thread, all he's saying is that an "update" to tizen is possible only by a third party in the same vein of porting bada to our devices, and everyone has seen how well that has went so far.

I would say "please don't trust this guy"
He claimed before to have a dual boot between bada 1.2 & 2.0
Also as i can see it is non-official news
Best Regards

well it doesn't seems very exiting to me this specs ... with no hspa an no front camera and less RAm then DHD .. the only thing that I've appréciated here is the internal memory .. finaly HTC had to put a real capacity on their device.
I don't really care about mindblowing hardware specs, it's the OS that's giving me the boner.
Dimensions on that pic are a mistake. The dimensions leaked earlier are more realistic, almost identical to the HD2.
hopefully all the hardware inside will be the same as HD2 so it make porting to hd even better. even tho ts must be different with HD2

so its basically a windows 7 HD2. early reports are that the screen is lack luster

No HDMI-output is a bummer

For the most part I think MS did a great job in setting high-quality standards for their first gen phones and I'm very satisfied with my Focus. But the greedy power-nerd in me wishes the phones came with HDMI-output.
I'm a little confused as to why MS would leave this out actually. It is coming standard on a lot of high-end phones now. Unless they plan to use the Xbox 360 as an AirPlay-like streaming box (I don't know if you can do that as of now because I don't own one), how does MS expect to offer a competing video out feature?
I remember hearing a story about how MS was planning to introduce a USB-out feature and if they do that would be great because it would be cheaper than the ripoff third party HDMI docks. But I'm worried it won't be able to match up to HDMI's quality.
Anyway, I know this isn't a big deal and it shouldn't be at the top of the fixes/additions list for MS. But can you blame a guy who recently got a 50-inch? I want to use the damn thing for something besides football!
EDIT: I found the PocketNow article about USB A/V out. http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/report-microsoft-bringing-microusb-a-v-out-to-windows-phone-7
they miss a standard IO port for using external addons hardware too

Sorry folks iGyaan has just reported:--
"We just got confirmation from Samsung that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been pushed back to the end of January 2012. The device is one of the most anticipated phones in India, especially because its the first smartphone to natively run Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.0.
The device will also feature a bump of specs including HD Super AMOLED display (1,280 x 720), a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Embedded NFC module. Its kinda horrible that India always gets the boot when it comes to devices we really want."
Till then your only hope is CM9

Old news. Lol.
let it be.
While mono running along side the standard Dalvik VM may be old news, XobotOS is not.
XobotOS was litterally just announced, it was pushed to github on 05/01/2012.
This is a really cool concept.
