I've run into this problem a few times in the past and what i usually end up having to do is take the battery out and wait at least an hour. Has anyone else had this problem? or am i just doing something wrong with the device?

Searched for this and didn't find it in the forum. My phone is not rooted.
I've had this phone maybe a week after launch and this issue has just started happening in the last 4 days or so. It typically seems to happen after charging and unplugging the phone. The stock battery usage app, Settings--> Applications--> Battery usage, shows no battery drain at all while showing the phone as Awake the whole time and Screen on the whole time.
The reality is that the phone was just sitting on the kitchen counter with the screen off and I hadn't touched it the entire time. Rebooting only sometimes seems to make it snap back to reality, there are times when I'll reboot or pull the battery and nothing happens, it just continues to give a false readings.
Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?
My gnex has a strange problem.
Every once in a while it goes into a loop where the following happens:
Screen turns on and display says the phone is charging even though I am nowhere near a charger or cable.
The screen stays on for 30 seconds (until timeout) and the immediately turns on again.
It can drain the battery in a few hours when this happens, and there's nothing I can do to make it stop. Not even a reboot helps.
After charging, the phone goes back to acting normal.
There's no obvious pattern in battery level, running apps, or anything else I could find. It doesn't even happen in every charge cycle.
I have tried flashing another ROM, flashing another kernel, killing apps and processes, removing apps, going to flightmode and a lot of other things. Nothing helps.
Does anyone have an idea what's happening?
Has anyone else experienced this?
There was another user posting with this problem.
Then another two who came to his aid (kind of) saying that they had the problem before as well...and eventually had to turn their phones in for refurbs.
I can't seem to find the thread, but I do swear to the validity of my statements.
Hi all,
I have been using ARHD ROM for a while now, version 5 for a few weeks and noticed the issue on there first and it still occurs after updating to 6.1 over the w/e. I was not aware of the issue before I went to ARHD but was not using/rebooting stock often enough to find out.
I don't think this is ROM related but am not really sure how to go about working out exactly what is causing it.
Normal working is excellent and battery drain is very low - seems to be about 2mA when idle with no WiFi or Data connections.
After a random amount of time - could be 3/4 days or less than 1 day the battery drain increases noticeably. For me it means that after an average days use the battery would be down to 20% or less rather than 40-50%.
I downloaded "better battery stats" to try and identify if possible what was causing it and it seems to be that the "LocationManagerService" is getting stuck with a "Partial Wake Lock". This prevents the phone from going into "Deep Sleep" so I can see on CPU Spy that the 51Mhz time starts increasing considerably and the Deep Sleep stops increasing completely.
A reboot solves the problem for another random amount of time.
After reboot under normal operation the "LocationManagerService" does not seem to register at all for several hours and when it does operate normally it stays towards the bottom of the "better battery stats" list with about 1s of use, even after a couple of days. When it gets stuck in partial wakelock it moves to the top of the list and refreshing shows constant updates indicating that it is maintaining a partial wakelock.
I have tried searching on Google but cannot see any mention of anyone experiencing a similar problem and as I am sure many applications use the "LocationManagerService" I am at a loss as to how I try and work out whether this is a bug in the service or an application that is causing it.
Apart from rebooting every time I notice this I am not sure how to troubleshoot any further, so was hoping one of you knowledgable guys/devs could perhaps make some suggestions as to how I can identify exactly what is causing this?
I would also be interested to find out if anyone else on any other ROM can see the same issue?
Thanks
Hi all,
So my phone has started doing a couple of odd things.
First the phone is occasionally waking up on its own for no apparent reason.
When i connect a charger the lightening bolt does not appear until it is charged another percent up.
And most annoyingly if it gets under 15% battery it will often pop up the "connect to charger" message every few seconds.
I tried a factory restore and fresh rom but the same thing is happening.
Any one experienced anything like this?
Any advice?
Cheers

i think you have a problem with your nexus usb port. check it, clean it...
Hi! I was wondering if this is normal for the GNexus:
When my phone is out of battery, it shuts down in the act, like suddenly the screen goes off and that's it, no "Shutting down..." message or whatever.
I used to have a Moto Defy and it didn't turn off that way... actually... none of my past phones did, but this is happening to me with GNexus since I bought it, with stock ROM, so I never really cared (now I am).
I'm using CM11 now with stock kernel but as I said before, this happens to me since I bought it so I don't think is ROM/Kernel-related.
I don't think it's good for the phone to shutdown that way... so if there's a way to fix it please share it with me.
Oh and BTW... if I hold the power button and then select "Turn off..." it shuts down "correctly" (with the "Shutting down..." message).
And just in case... I'm not saying that my battery drains too quickly or something like that, I'm just asking if is it normal to shutdown that way when the battery is empty.
I don't think it's normal, it should still show shutting down message, but then again I rarely let the battery go down to 7%, usually get it on the charger after the 14% left low battery warning.

Well... is not like I'm doing it on purpose... after some time my battery starts to show the % the wrong way, so sometimes it shuts down before reaching 10 or 15% (for example).
Thanks for sharing your experience!
