Galaxy w network unlock - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hi ,
trawled high and low for an app or method to network unlock this - can't find anything anyone got any info or a reasonable price to get code ?
thanks

Did you mean remove the bootloader from a certain network carrier? If so, what's your network carrier?

Don't know if this counts as a reasonable price, or even if you are on a UK network, but worth a look maybe.....

You need to contact Tmobile if you have an account with them. Request a SIM unlock. As long as you haven't done one on your line in the last 90 days they'll put in the request. Within 72 hours they'll email you the unlock code and instructions.
If they won't do it try this site: http://sim-unlock.net.
I think they charge around $15 but it works.
Simple go to E-Bay. Item number 400223470996. 4.49$ in next 30 minutes you have unlocked device. Confirm, working good and properly on my G-Slate.

Make sure you are on the right bands that are supported by your device and check to make sure your apn settings are correct. When that happens it is usually the apn's.

There is currently no 'free' way of sim unlocking your device if you hang around long enough someone may write a program to do it but you may be waiting a while. Quite a few members have stated the unlock code can be obtained over ebay within 2 hours for around £9 which is a good price. You could also contact your carrier and tell them you want to take your phone abroad and use a different sim card in it while you are away to save costs. Sometimes they will unlock it for free.

got mine unlocked from o2 for free, filled in a form on their site and they emailed me the unlock code
just bought a SIM unlock code from here for £5
instant delivery, works perfectly. awesome
a warning about sim unlock: I got my nexus today from vodafone spain and as expected it was locked. I got an unlock code from ebay and it worked like a charm.
But, I like to play with new phones first, then restore defaults and set everything up the way I want it. The thing is, the galaxy nexus doesn't remember the network unlock code between factory resets, at least mine doesn't (yakju, came with ITL41F).
The codes work, but you may need yours again, so don't throw the number away
any code for three? im waiting the three to give me the code, about 2 weeks now
Hello Mark, is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus an universal phone? Can I use the unlocked version with LTE carriers in the future? I am in US and Verizon is the only LTE carrier I was wondering about using T-Mobile (HSPS technology) or wait for Sprint (my current carrier). I live in USA but I am thinking about moving to Japan so I wonder if I should just wait and maybe I will need to get one in Japan with one of their carriers... Also I love the forums and it is all great, but is there an IRC room for this questions as well?
Thank you in advance,

The GSM version can be purchased unlocked and used on any GSM carrier with their supplied SIM card. The GSM frequencies are listed for the Galaxy Nexus and they cover the majority of GSM international and US domestic carriers.
The LTE version, as far as we've heard, is only for Verizon in the US. Not sure what LTE technologies other carriers in other countries are using.
If you're interested in having an international capable version of the deivce, the GSM version is currently your best option.
Hope that helps!
Hi,
I would also like to purchase such a code, but how ist it with OTA updates? Still avialable?
How would it be if I later root my phone and put on a custom rom? Will it be still unlocked.
or
cant I just put on a custom rom, to sim-unlock the phone and save those costs?
Sorry for the noob questions.
Thanks

Custom Roms cannot sim unlock your phone as it isnt part of the system.
Flashing an OTA update or a custom rom will not affect your phone if you have sim unlocked it with a code.
MArk.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I have contacted my carrier (A1 Austria) and complained about the simlock. To make a long story short, they finally gave me the simunlock pin.
But recently I unlocked the bootlader and the unlock was wiped so I needed to reenter the pin. After I reflashed the original rom (back to stock) the sim was locked again.
And the most strange thing happened today. I just restarted the phone today (as every day) and the sim was locked again. So reentered the pin to unlock.
My question now, can it be that the simumlock pin they have provided me is not correctly working or is this a normal behaviour or a bug?
Br, Avi

That appears to be normal behaviour.

Hi! I just got my GN and after I boot it asks to enter the SIM Network unlock PIN. This means that its network locked right ? In the box there where nothing related to any carrier so is there a way to find a way to which carrier it is locked to ? And how can I unlock it?
Thanks (Im running AOKP)

I got an app from market recently to unlock my SGS2, maybe try searching the market? That's a bit vague but the app I used on my SGS2 was perfect, generated a code for me and then unlocked the sime when I typed the code in.
Im trying the GSII Sim Unlock app though I doubt it will work.... I was thinking about purchasing an unlock code however I have no idea to what carrier it is locked to. Is there any way I can know this?
Yeah

That's what I used. I don't think the carrier matters, it's all about the phones IMEI number, the app checks that and then issues an unlock code based on that. You don't need to worry about carrier.
Let me know if that app works on the Nexus. By the way, in Ireland you can ring your carrier and request an unlock code. I don't know if that is the same where you are. You could chance your arm and see.
is your nexus cdma or gsm? A gsm nexus wont ask to unlock the sim since they are factory sim unlocked..

Mine asks for an unlock code if I don't use the sim that came with the phone or a sim that is from another carrier.
Do you have a source for where you read that they are sim unlocked ??? Would be interested in reading it.
this reads more like it's a Sim-pin... a pin number associated with the sim card you are using, NOT a pin associated with the phone.

NO! The code is related to the IMEI number of the phone. When I unlocked my SGS2 using that app, it specifically searched for my IMEI number and then generated the unlock code. Nothing to do with the sim.
Its a GSM phone and Im assuming that it is unlocked as it had no logos on the box so I have no idea what carrier it is locked to. Also, ever site that sells unlock codes request the carrier so what can I do ?
Tha SGSII app did not work

Well, you didn't buy a carrier branded one, did you?
I spoke too soon, it looks like Vodafone Portugal sells it Sim-locked, everywhere else it's unlocked. If you bought it unsubsidized, it should be unlocked. Unless you got scammed, and bought it second hand from someone that somehow had bought a locked one.
Where exactly did you purchase the phone?

Bought it off eBay from an Australian seller.... in fastboot mode Carrier Info is set to None.... does this mean that it is unlocked ???
Got reply from seller and apparently there was a code on the box that I had to enter.... my fault :/ Know its working perfectly

Samsung Captivate Glide in India

Being a qwerty fan, I did some homework and concluded Captivate Glide as the ideal phone for me.
But the problem is, I'm in India and they don't sell this model in India.
Assuming I arrange to sneak one from the US, what are the possible issues I might face? Like connectivity issues or something?
Can I get an unlocked version from the US or unlock codes will be required to use it with carriers in India? It has a SIM slot, right?
and lastly, is CyanogenMod available for Captivate Glide?
Thanks in anticipation!

Yes the glide is a GSM device, works with SIM cards. There are unlock codes available, but because the glide is only months old (almost a year), you might get your unlock code quite delayed from unlocking companies.

as per the Devs here and in teamhacksung, the Glide is capable of running CyanogenMod. If time permits, devs can get CM ported on the Glide.

In December I had bought an Captivate Glide through eBay for a great deal..
Got it to India, through Borderlinx - http://www.borderlinx.com/pages/how-it-works
(slightly costlier compared to other service providers) with duty and taxes..
+ Unlocking - 20 to 25$..
Overall it came below 500$.. I guess now it will be much cheaper..

If you can get an unlocked AT & T or Rogers version (without carrier symbol), there is no need to unlock it again in india. once unlocked, stays for forever..
You will not face any problem with any sim provider..
At india carriers use 2G - GSM 900/1800 and 3G-UMTS 2100.
This phone has 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
I love to see how many people are using this phone all around the world ! Or at least trying too!

Which deal to go for?
I have contacted someone in the US who will order the phone online, collect it and bring it to India.
Now the question is, which deal to go for? (among the choices given below?
OR
Can it bought at the stores and unlocked later through AmericanUnlocker?
Preferably, I'd choose to do the latter, if its possible!
Anyway, the online deals I could get are:
1. http://canadagsm.ca/SAMSUNG/Captivate-Glide-i927/
I don't think this is the Rogers version! I wouldn't want the AT&T logo on my phone, but then this isn't a deal breaker. $325 seems like a good price.
2. http://negrielectronics.com/samsung-sgh-i927-captivate-glide-rogers-unlocked-black.html
At $455, its almost a $100 expensive. I don't understand the reason!
3. http://negrielectronics.com/samsung-captivate-glide-at-t-black-unlocked.html
This is available for $349! Only because its AT&T and the former is Rogers!
4. http://www.ebay.com/ctg/Samsung-Cap...&_pcategid=15032&_dmpt=Cell_Phones&_dashexp=1
Ebay is giving it for $310 !!
Now this is confusing!! Why the fluctuation in prices?

2.Talk with your network provider.
3.Go to a GSM service and resolve the problem.(i think you will lost the warranty, but totally)

First solution is hard, since i dont have xtc clip.
Second one is hard too, i`m in other country right now and phone is locked in orange spain.
Third, here in my city nobody can unlock this phone, i need to send in other city to solv it
I think i need some valid sites who unlock sim network online via IMEI. Any ideas?

Price was 11.99 USD and i received e-mail after 40 mins, they say 15-30 mins but is not a very big difference, is really fast and the price was very very good for me.
You sent a payment of $11.99 USD to The Unlocking Company

Dont know, my phone wasnt buyed with a contract, but anyway...who will verify if the phone is locked or not in other networks when you will send to warranty?
You will receive only the code (8 digits), insert a new sim and write the code and thats all, all fine.
