hey guys
right now i am using the latest RVHD Rom with faux kernel 007 before i installed the rom i did a full wipe and erased everything on the sd card.
sometimes when i use facebook app it freezes and i have to force stop the app and reopen it to make it work...and this is really annoying i tried different roms, kernel still the same...
anyone knows what to do?
Wipe cache

I've noticed this, using stock kernel & stock based rom - it seems to be a facebook bug inside the app itself, not a rom problem, although i could be mistaken
I did that few times...and sometimes when i just click on fb app without doing anything its loading and gets stuck and i have to force stop the app and rerun
I would agree, facebook crashed 4 time today on my One X. I have no stock rom...

Have vanilla device with Fb app on it. since the update a few days ago (which I assume was inline with the major update they gave to the iPhone version of the app) Fb on the HOX has crashed several times while I'ver been scrolling down pages. Pretty annoying as I was on a data connection on the time and it seems every time you reopen the app it reloads the entire page again instead of just the bits it doesn't already have

Proof of my previous point - it's a facebook app bug, not a rom issue

I noticed this with dk28 where my snsservice would keep saying restarting after about an hour when my phone is booted and doesn't have a running time. I don't know if this is causing some issues because the phone then say that I can't edit my contacts.

I gather you are referring to Facebook SNS? This started after Facebook made changes to their application and introduced their own sync process. Those changes did something that conflicts with Google's integration with Facebook.
Google and Facebook are going at it over the sync process within Android.

There is another thread a few pages back in this sub forum that discusses possible work arounds. Nothing confirmed to resolve the constant prompts as of yet.
I'm having this issue too, I don't use Facebook and I can't find anything on any of the forums about this issue. No problems other than SNSSERVICE RESTARTING... continuously in running services. I push to stop it and it goes away, but I haven't noticed any other problems, even after I close it. I do notice that my battery lasts longer when I kill it. What EXACTLY does SNSService do? I've heard several different comments that it is for Facebook, its for Security (? if so, what security?), etc... and what would be causing it to go into restart. I do toggle off 3G from Power Control Plus (and GPS and Auto Sync) when I'm at work or other times when I have 1 or 2 signal bars (to save battery), but when I've had this happen, I try reconnecting all those, and it does not save the snsservice from going into a restart loop.

I have the EXACT same problem, on EB13 Syndicate ROM.
One thing I know for sure is snsservice fetches email syncs at the selected intervals for the stock email app, because I haven't been getting any emails since the problem started. My girlfriend has the Samsung Fascinate (sister phone) and she has the EXACT same problem. Anyone else know?
I found a fix for this...I'll bet if you have this problem you don't have a Facebook nor Twitter account and thus, have removed the "Feeds & Updates" widget from your screens. If you DON'T force close the SNSService, but just put the Feeds & Updates Widget back on an unused screen somewhere it will immediately stop the snsservice from restarting. I've then deleted the widget from my screen and was good for about 2 weeks, then it started doing it again (after the facebook app got an update) so I just left the widget up now.

That's more of a workaround, rather than a fix.
so does this drain the battery? I had it happen last night on bonsai

I don't know, for sure it doesn't help it. It would be nice if somebody shed some light on this bug.
My fix is to just delete the two SNS apk's, and use the respective apps built in sync feature.

what are the 2 apks? are they safe to delete even if I'm using fb (Facebook)? I've notice that when snsservice is restarting and if I kill it, it will stop notifications on fb.

Excuse me...you are right, it's a workaround, like the airplane toggle and the upside down compass calibrate, but hey I hope folks can use it until it does get fixed, which, I think people with the issue would appreciate knowing.

To remove the stock, built in SNS features, you can remove the following files:
Snsaccount.apk
Snsproviders.apk
About affecting the fb app, I'm not sure. I just started using the fb app so I can't say with certainty. I am going to test and see if deleting either or both apk files stop notifications in the fb app. Based on what you said, sounds like it might.

I'm pretty sure you NEED those apks if you ARE using Facebook. You just need to put the Feeds and Updates Widget back on one of your unused screens.
No, if you're using the Facebook app that you download from the market, you don't need either of those apks.
Just tested notification functionality like I mentioned in my last post, and I am getting them all. Those apks are deleted on my phone.
You'd need to keep those apks if you want the Twitter and Facebook functionality that comes built in on a stock phone.

Does deleting those two apks not affect Latitude updates? I know their separate services but it seems as if Latitude doesn't automatically update correctly when I remove either snsservice or drmprovider.

I am confused. in past several months I tried bunch of ROM's and every sigle of them had gmail sending mail issues. Why google? They are same people who made android, and that is why I am expecting their app's to be smooth and better from others. Sometimes after seeing red "sending..." message mail stays for hours in outbox, no metter how many times you sync, refresh or even restart your phone (this happens mostly when replying but not limited to). Am I only one with this problem and why gmail (app) sucks so much?

Gmail version 2.3.4.1 gave me problems with Sense-based roms initially and I ended up reverting back to version 2.3.2, however, I didn't recall having that problem with the stock odexed 3.70 rom. Furthermore, I have no problems with version 2.3.4.1 using an AOSP rom, specifically Salvage-Mod 1.2.1. If you have the time, nandroid backup your current setup, download and flash the rooted stock 3.70 rom from the link below and then test your gmail performance.

This same thing happened to me. Someone on here made the suggestion of going into my application settings and clearing the data, and since then it has worked flawlessly.
Clearing the data worked for me on my EVO.....thanks all
I've been using the FC24 and also I've tried the FC22 ICS builds. Overall they're pretty good besides the aforementioned notification issues, some general lagginess around the UI and VPN not connecting (for me). GPS has been great.
The one thing that has been a show stopper for me is the Contacts App being very unresponsive. If you click on it, it'll go to the first page and nothing will load. I'm also having problems with my Groups appearing. If I can't get these to load, then I can't contact people very quickly.
Are others seeing this? Any tips?
I have tried TWlauncher and the regular Launcher (no difference). I've tried FC22 and FC24 (currently on FC24) and no difference. I've synced, then unsynced my LinkedIN and Facebook contacts (that seem to minorly help).
I'm probably going back to the EL29 and just flash the FC24 modem, although I like the ICS features if they all worked.
(sorry for the new thread, but the FC thread is too long for people to use anymore [plus its largely off topic now] and searching got me no where)
So for me on the goodness 3.1 with the AOSP contact app I get FC's all the time for acore. I am just going to put up with it till the final release since I have this rom all fixed up to my liking. But with your issue and what I'm seeing it rally seems like something deeper then the contact app, maybe the contact storage is the issue.
That's disappointing. It seems to be able to load an individual contact just fine if you search or if you place a contact on your home screen through the widgets menu, but the groups are a no go for me. Even if you access the groups through an app like Handcent (which uses a hybrid of the normal groups and handcent's own display).
I had the same problem on early builds.

Was a solution ever found to this, I'm having a similar problem on an FD24 rom that I just flashed and have had it on every other rom I've tried for the last two weeks as well, basically my contacts aren't responding at all starting about 15 minutes after I flash the rom, freezes as soon as I open the contacts app and contact widgets are non-responsive as well...it's happening with using romtoolbox to restore apps and just doing a complete fresh install of all apps from the market
very frustrating and I'm kind like reddragon in that I have everything else set up exactly as I want it now, except this issue
My wife's contacts did the same on FD24 and continued when I upgraded to FD26 without wiping data. To fix it I just backed up everything with Titanium and used sfhub's One Click odin FD26 that wipes data. Now, contacts works fine and I restored her apps no problem.

Yes. It's a Festivus miracle! FD26 (and FD24) fixed this.
If it happens again, you can clear the contacts storage in the Applications menu. Then let everything resync.
FD26 is something special. I have yet to find a bug (that affects me).

Google plus trust?
Hello everyone!
I've had my GN since April, and I'm loving it. Since the beginning I've had whatsapp installed on it, and used it extensively. It worked great, even on JB 4.1.1. I unlocked the bootloader sometime around the end of June, the beginning of July. Anyway, about a month ago, I wanted to try some custom roms. Tried AOKP build 1, and CM10, both of which caused issues with Whatsapp. I wouldn't get the notifications instantly. Instead, I'd get them in anything from half an hour to 2 hours later.
So I switched back to stock using the Nandroid backup I had done before flashing the roms. However, ever since then, I've been having issues with Whatsapp and other apps, Gmail, Facebook messenger, Facebook itself, issues I didn't have before. With whatsapp for instance, if I'm on 3g, the issue is still there, notifications are still delayed. On wifi is even worst, I don't even get them unless I open the app itself.
Gmail is delayed as well, not as much, and I certainly don't need to open the app to get the mail, while facebook messenger and facebook usually send me notifications I had already looked at on my laptop, and they send them the next morning.
You can see how this is annoying. One morning I read somewhere something like having installed a custom rom and using a nandroid restore to get back to stock causes issues with Whatsapp, no mention of other apps though. Could this possibly be the cause?
If not, anyone got any idea what might be, and how to fix it? I'm even willing to flash stock, and relock the bootloader, if it helps.
Did you try clean installing WhatsApp instead of recovering from a backup?

I did, three times, same problem. And it's not just whatsapp, facebook and facebook messenger are doing the same thing. Gapps work well, talk and G+ are instant.
I'm gonna say its the app.. since other apps work fine.. and facebbok just sux..

Edit: No, that didn't help. I tried flashing stock, let's see what that gets me
I pre-load lots of videos on wifi while charging (or try to), but the youtube app signs me out automatically after I don't use it after whatever length of time, and I lose my pre-loads.. Never had this issue with phones in the past, anything I can do to stop it from logging me out?
Why use the app? Its always the first thing I uninstall when I get a new phone, install Flash and enjoy full Youtube on a browser.
Can you preload videos using the browser? Doubt it, thats one of the reasons I use it. I quite like it is another minus this signing out issue.
Yea I'm facing this problem too. I think it's due to multiple Google accounts? Coz I'm using 2 Google accounts and facing the problem.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I thought that was the problem too, so I deleted one of the gmail accounts and the problems still there. I had 2 accounts with my last phone and never had this problem so don't really understand.
Yeah this is annoying me too, haven't been able to find a fix. I also have two Google accounts, and deleting one doesn't change anything.
In fact, all new YouTube apps annoy me, the one for ios is the worst piece of crud they've ever come up with. "We estimate that you would rather watch a screen composed of 6 moving pixels rather than waiting a little bit to buffer because of our stupid server priority system, and you cannot choose what you prefer". Thanks Google and apple, together you become the ultimate troll.
Sorry for the off topic

I am also facing similar issue and a few more. Play Store isn't updating or downloading apps. Contacts are not getting synced. Please check if you have these issues too.
Would tube mate not work well for your requirements?
I too am having the issue. Gets very annoying. I noticed it when I got the note 2. I have tried all that I can think of, to no avail.
I've read a bunch of different explanations for it, from Google+ integration causing the issue to gapps being the cause.
I don't know what the issue is but I've been having it since the latest YouTube update, so I'd imagine it's something to do with the app itself.

Although it doesnt help me any, its good to know I'm not alone with this problem... All I've figured out to stay signed in is to not close the app when I close all the others by swiping them. If you don't close it, it should leave you signed in.
I'm not having any issues with play store, everything else seems perfectly fine.
