Main Features:
1. Based on latest CM9 RC1
2. Full Xperia theme.
3. Ported Xperia S ICS launcher with Xperia Home Preferences.
4. Ported Xperia Widgets from Xperia GX system dump.
5. XPeria Live Wallpaper
6. Ported Xperia keyboard(full with 46 languages)
7. GPSfix app by sMillerNL.
8. Walkman music player.
9. Chainfire's SuperSU instead of superuser (it's a bit snappier)
v2i's Added features:
Added ad2sdx script. You need to have ext3/ext4 format because of this reason. Apps are auto instelled on your sd-ext. No need of any 3rd party app and tweaking. Also added ext4 lagfix for smooth app handling
Added Tweak-ICS v3 script for performance and audio enhance.
Added Tenfold's battery life package.
...probably forgot what else got implemented :silly::cyclops:
Bugs:
Same as CM9-RC1 bugs. If you meet any other, please report.
If you face the "rom not booting" issue, then wait about 10 min's, then press lock button, and then press lock button again. Voila!
Download:
Mediafire - v2
Mediafire - v2i
Install method:
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Do a 3x Wipe
3. Choose install zip from SD card (not the update.zip)
4. Install
5. reboot and voila!! Welcome to Galaxy Xperia
P/S: 1st boot takes some time
At some moment, you might even think that it's stuck in a bootloop, wait for 10 mins. on bootanimation, the phone will vibrate and them start.
Please do 1-2 reboots after 1st boot.(somehow performance increase by a bit)
Important!
If you want to use the new GPS Fix for CM9-RC1, first delete the GPS-Fix app included in the rom!
For good performance, go to settings / performance, and set the following:
CPU: Min :126 Mhz ; Max :825 Mhz(or higher, depends on user) ; Governor: smartassV2, or interactiveX ; Tick set on boot.
Memory: Enable KSM and Allow purging of assets, maybe set zRam to 10%
Disable Surface dithering, and enable 16bit Transparency
To get GPS working at all, in location services go to GPS Source, and tick "Use internal GPS"
To get Xperia theme overall, go to Settings/Themes, and select Xperia theme. Ignore pop-up message.
Credits:
1. Maclaw and MacławStudio's guys for the awesome CM9.
2. aadroid.dev for giving permissions and help to port.
3. SMillerNL for GPSfix app.
4. jasonevil for Xperia Theme on CM9
5. XDA for such awesome tutorials

Screenshots are from Ace thread, I just copied them here. But it would really be a smart idea.
A question about the keyboard - does it have lags? When i installed it ( from themes and apps in general android thread) it worked flawlessly, but the lags killed me and i returned to swiftkey.
Concerning the rom: great work! And i would definitely flash it, if I hadn't done all that themeing stuff by myself

Well I haven't experienced any problems with it while tthe tests. Don't know if there is a greater difference between this and your version
I got the permission from aandroid.dev to modify the rom, so we're coming up with some new features :
- Apps2Sd directly installed - ext3/ext4 partition will be necessary!
- Tweak-ICS package implemented, improvment in performance, sound quality
- Battery life package implemented for longer battery time.
Uploading in the evening!

The problem was that the keyboard slowed down while typing as if there was a lack of ram. Though there were no problems with starting/poping up/changing languages etc.
If you don't have any lags just dismiss these posts. Enjoy the rom( and the keyboard )
Good luck with downloads and "thanks"
Will the keyboard work on gingerbread or its only for ics?

this rom is nice, but it would be evwn better if you can just make the launcher of the rom to be directly installed manually,so that people who use other roms would be able to enjoy xperia launcher also, hope you can do it,would be appreciate it much =]

At least try searching through the xda before posting. The Xperia S launcher is been ported ages ago. I'm using it as default since I stumbled upon it about 10+ months ago ago

Thanks for the feedback. I think you need to remove the original superuser app from system/app, then reboot, and download from play store. Strange, I didn't have this problem, I could update from Play store.

Well I think it goes quite good if you consider that it's based on CM9. 1 day with medium usage ( minimal game, 2-3hours of music, ~30min's of phone call) for me, but pay attention after using camera, it sets governor back for ondemand.
rom is not booting i waited 15 minutes flashed it again but its still not booting
this rom is even lagg than maclaw's cm10

My first thread, so bear with me. Also, if there are any bugs, there is no guarantee that I can fix it. I just started out. Sorry about that
I know there are already two CM9 threads, but I think all of you may enjoy this one
My first port that I did, and I am posting it to share with all of you guys! Why did I port this? Well, I am very picky about what I want in a ROM, so this is the best one I found in my eyes lol
I would like to give out big thanks to:
jerl92 - his ROM is used here. thanks to him for letting me port it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492461
blackwing182 - used his ROM as a base, thank you for that
Synthetic.nightmare - for helping me get wifi working and for the kernel, creamed coconut and frosted cherry
Mr.Highway - for his port guide. you guys should use it and give him thanks
Others I would like to thank is all the other devs that helped me (you know who you are )
I will update this ROM when I have free time. I will TRY to do so on every beta release the dev makes, or as I see fit. If there aren't many good changes in CM but the dev released another beta, I may or may not update it. I will try to answer all the questions you have. Since i am only one person, i may be slow at answering them. also, there are many kind users that can help you out with your questions. dont be shy, ask away! but make sure you read the OP first before asking a question for it may answer your question
Now, onto the ROM
what works with this port:
-mainly everything (wifi, bluetooth, etc.)
-trackpad wake & scrolling works
-camera flash
-DSPManager works. playing next track doesn't blow up your ears with your awesome music
-i believe netflix works (you guys test that out. the more confirmation, the better )
-instagram, everyones favorite app /s, works
-fixed video recording. so it works now (only 480p, CIF, and QVGA. recording in 720p doesnt work and will cause the camera to not load and can only be fixed upon reboot). ffc recording does too, but only qvga or cif mode. *flash FFC fix v2
what doesn't work:
-one minor bug: when plugging in headphones, the ringer state changes to something you did not set. for example, you put it on vibrate, you put headphones in, it changes to ringer on (sound on). when pulling headphones out, ringer state can change as well. it happens with me, but you guys can test it out and see if it does that for you. could be just my headphones. hope that all made sense
-another minor bug: cpu settings won't stick. use setcpu or another cpu control app
-idk if this is a bug, but the audio in the video recording is not as loud as it should be (not too sure about that). probably the mic. then again, the speaker on our phones suck so that is a problem
-DO NOT use ICS reloaded with this ROM. causes error. thanks to headcreepz for finding out for me
-you tell me what else (again, there is no guarantee that I can fix it. I just started out)
Changes: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/
Instructions:
1. wipe data, system, etc.
2. flash ROM
3. flash gapps (http://goo.im/gapps - use/download CM9 one if you do not already have it)
4. flash FFC fix v2
5. don't forget to download a cpu control app to control cpu speeds, governor, etc. (optional)
*for updates, you can flash over cm9 without data. however, if problem arises, full wipe first then report problem if its still there. flash gapps over update if problem arises, as well as the files mentioned above
**if you get bootloops, flash a different kernel
Optional:
1. flash a different kernel (link down below)
2. flash wificalling rilfix zip. DO NOT flash the wificalling one. dialing a number and calling it knocks out signal
3. ICS audio libs for CM9 MT4G ports.zip will allow you to hear the other person in a video chat, like Google+

[ROM][PORT][ICS][CM9 based]Andromadus Mimicry
another ROM release on this post. its CM9 based one called Andromadus Mimicry. and this one has aroma installer with some great options
first off, thanks to blk_jack for the ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714187
also thanks to:
-blackwing182 for his ROM, used as a base
-Mr.Highway for his porting guide
-synthetic.nightmare for helping me with almost everything and for the kernel, creamed coconut and frosted cherry
-the rest of the devs who answered my questions
now onto the ROM:
what works:
-the main things
what doesnt work:
-minor bug: cpu settings won't stick. use setcpu or another cpu control app
-idk if this is a bug, but the audio in the video recording is not as loud as it should be (not too sure about that). probably the mic. then again, the speaker on our phones suck so that is a problem
-you tell me
Some info:
blk_jack said:
A quick note on this. It's not that it's a bug, it's just that if you select the Virtuous OC Daemon package to be installed, it takes over controlling your governor & CPU frequencies. So if you set it to a specific freq/governor in the menu yourself manually, it'll reset as soon as you turn the screen on/off (which activates the OC Daemon). If you want to set it yourself, just don't install the Virtuous OC Daemon OR install an app that can control the daemon's settings (there are a bunch).
Hope that helps

Hey Galaxy S3 users!
I wanted to share a ROM I am starting to build, it’s in its infant stages(notice version 0.3) so this ROM isn’t for everyone.
I wanted to build a ROM for especially for noobs, for those of you who are just getting into the game. I do receive a ton of emails from noobs being totally disappointed after trying advanced ROMs like CM9/CM10. But those custom ROMs aren’t always meant for noobs and beginners who are just getting into Android rooting and ROMs so I wanted to build a ROM that gives you extra features without sacrificing stock ones so they can slowly transition to other great custom ROMs already here on XDA.
Anyways, if you have any suggestions and you are a total boob and want certain features added/removed, let me know and will work on the next versions.
Thanks!
Features
- Built off Stock ROM (USB Kies and everything else works from stock)
- Custom Boot Animation support
- App 2 ExtSD support
- Init.d support
- Jelly Bean Boot Animations
- Google Now
- Speed tweaks for 3G/HSPA/WiFi
- Power saving features
- Graphic acceleration for your photos/videos
- Busybox
- Deodexed/Zipaligned
- SuperSU
- More coming soon! (Let me know what you really want!)
- I left all bloatware on for now (slowly removing one by one, please tell me which one you think absolutely isn’t needed)
ChangeLog
v0.3 Added App to ExtSD Hack, allows you to store apps on External SD.(thank to Mattiadj) ) (There's a battery bug in this version but you can flash the latest HighOnAndroid UVALEM kernel to fix!!!)
v0.2 Added Custom Boot Animation Support, Extended Reboot Menu(thanks to Clark44!), 15-toggles (thanks to Electron73!), some bloatware removed.
v0.1 Based off Stock UVLEM, Jelly Bean Animations, GoogleNow, speed tweaks for WiFi, power saving features, and graphic acceleration so your photos/videos should be higher quality.
Download:
http://galaxys3root.com/highonandroid-galaxy-s3-rom/
From v0.3 on, you will have App 2 ExtSD hack enabled. Meaning if you have an external microSD card into your phone, the system will swap your internal storage and extSD space. So, your internal storage becomes external SD card while your external SD card becomes internal storage. This allows you to increase the number of apps you can put on your phone depending on the size of your microSD card. (So if you use 64GB micro SD Card, you can get 64GB instead of stock 16/32GB.)
Please make sure your microSD card is in FAT32 format, if in EXTFAT format.
What happens if you don't have a microSD card inserted?
Then the script detects that and your internal storage is used normally.
If you want to disable this feature completely, simply use ES FIle Explorer, enable ROOT/MOUNT, then delete the file /system/etc/init.d/11extUS.
Also, if you want to keep the feature, you can boot your phone with your microSD card out, then put it in after your phone boots, then the App 2 ExtSD hack will not be enabled. Confused? Watch the video I am uploading soon.
*Note – This ROM is for NOOBs and for those of you who want to stay stock but get better performance/features over stock ROM.
P.S. I support the noobs. We were all once noobs asking the dumbest questions in the world, no there’s no such thing as a dumb question, that’s how you get smarter. Without noobs, we wouldn’t have any experts.

If you want to switch songs with the volume keys, you can try tweakbox. It's based off a framework mod called Xposed. It was originally written for the GS 2 but I've used it on the S3 without issue.
Here's a quick step by step:
1. Install XposedInstaller.apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
2. Install XposedTweakbox.apk http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1629653
3. Open XposedInstaller and press Install/Update
4. In Xposed Installer, select modules and make sure Xposed Tweakbox is selected.
5. Open Tweakbox > Misceallaneous > Skip tracks with volume keys
6. Reboot.
Note that you need root to install Xposed

Nice work! Personally I don't think bloat should be removed. Removing bloat is something that Newbs should/can easily learn to do on they're own. Maybe a list of recommended apps with a How-To along with it could be good. Just my .02.
Either way, this is a GREAT idea, thanks for posting!

this rom is a really great idea. im not sure if it's possible but one thing that would be really cool and also help separate this rom from the rest but still not make it non-noobish would be that soft key slide from left to right to wake up phone option that they have for a few other phones. it would be so cool to be able to wake our phones right from the bottom. i just tried sliding my finger from the menu key to the back key and your finger slides right across the hard button. just thought id throw that out there to see if it would work and to say it seems like it would be really cool.

Known Issues:
You tell me!
Porting Issues:
1) absolution Tools is based on the Desire HD, and their kernel, so PLEASE! do not play with the overclocking profiles, just use a daemon because alot of the CPU profiles found in AT aren't compatible with our kernel. however, you may update AT, nothing is dangerous by doing so
2) some apps are old, you may update them, no problems there
3) some playstore problems, if you have those problems, replace the playstore with this one: https://www.box.com/shared/zq4yjywf4ezrfodou0az
and googleservicesframework with this one: https://www.box.com/shared/jngylg1prygp7oc2yylb
4) button backlight brightness is too high, you may lower them by going to settings-absolution tools-cyanogenmod settings-display-automatic backlight-under light levels tick use custom-edit other levels-under button is 255, replace them with a lower number, the lower the number the lower the brightness-apply.

downloading rom now
Going to flash this tonight or tomorrow, something old but new love it. I been trying to get into porting roms also, so if you know any good instructions to help please post. Also keep up the good work, I mean some people still use windows xp and ubuntu 9.04.
update: just flashed rom and loving it. Seems fast and snappy, and feels very stable so far.
On this phone I almost always am running gingerbread so I guess there is two of us left!
Thanks for bringing in another option!

yes, settings-absolution-cyanogenmod settings-and somewhere in the lockscreen options
EDIT: i still haven't switched hw acc on, and disabled cpu rendering, i just tested it on subway surfers and the game has less lag, so i'll do it today.
two ways to do it: update the ROM and upload it (will take a day) or make a "patch" and release it today.
you decide.

that is something i don't know how to fix, the only way is to enable the statusbar brightness option, and use that for brightness, that way the physical buttons will follow screen brightness.
Looked through the settings you said along with any others and still had no such luck, maybe im just an idiot.

probably yes by enabling hardware acceleration.
i can't upload a patch now, I'll try either tomorrow or Saturday, but if u know how to enable it, try it for yourself
EDIT: weirdly tried it now, unfortunately i don't know edify scripting, so i couldn't do it. can anyone do the patch for me? i'll give the iinfo about the patch once someone responds.

I have no idea how to do it. I hope you figure it out.
Edit: there is a script called pimp my rom that has "enable hardware acceleration" option, I enabled it but I have no idea how to tell if it is working. The 720p playback on TwitchTV is still not working. I can only watch 360p or less.

broodROM Jellybean
Release 3
by outerh3aven
broodplank1337 said:
Info:
I decided to skip broodROM ICS since JB is working as good as ICS. First of all I want to tell that I won't be using stages such as ALPHA, BETA, RC, Final. I will call the version Release, followed by a number, this third release (Release 3) is now available for download.
I kept it simple so far, added some hooks into the Settings menu, added OC Kernel (compiled with christopher toolchain with o3 optimization), init.d management by broodParts, I made it so that the app applies the setting directly and adds it to init.d as well.

Since those CM's do not offer that good battery life.
Good for me is 2 days without charging with modest ussage.

Now that that's out of the way, let's introduce the RANDOM ROM!
Random ROM is a branch of ROMs designed to contain the hardcore bloatware, (except the obvious), and maintain high speed and flexibility for your high standards (well, some of you anyway). This ROM is based on the HTC Sensation XL 1.05.401.3 RUU, which contains HTC Sense 3.5. An original, dynamic 3D UI. What makes the ROM so epic is the theme. Hardcore amounts of time have been put into making this ROM and as always, it may NOT be perfect. Please mention any bugs in thread or via pm. I DO NOT allow anyone to use my work, but I do allow people making threads for MODs. I have sweated blood to get this done and I will NOT tolerate any kanging. If so I will chew you out like HELL.

Can't get this rom to boot up. Keep getting stuck at boot screen. Went past it once but then got a android stop process error code and nothing would work so tried to reboot and kept hanging on boot image after that. Any ideas?

Overclocking is a kernel thing, not a ROM thing - unless a specific kernel gets baked into it. As the OP does not mention a custom kernel included, I would say overclocking is not an option unless you separately flash a custom kernel.
