Problems with AOKP JB 4.1.1 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

This might come off as stupid, but, I can't find the option to delete the annoying message when I go to type something, in the notification bar says "Choose input method" but I already did! I'm using SwiftKey 3, and put it as default, unchecked the Google voice typing, but it checks itself again automatically, and I deleted the default android keyboard. Also I can't seem to find the option to put the torch in the menu when holding the power button.
Anyone could help me?

Remove all of the system keyboards including the japanese/chinesse keyboard, so you had only one keyboard left (swiftkey).
As for the torch, afaik it only available in the notification toggles.

I can't find the Google Voice Typing apk in /system/app. And it keeps checking automatically by itself, when I uncheck it, it works for some time but then it goes again.

It's Velvet.apk. Be caution, you'll loose Google Now by removing the apk. I guess it's a trade off then.

Pressing B, S and G buttons bring up programs instead of typing that letter

Whenever I press the B button it brings up the stock browser, G brings up Gmail and, S brings up the Messaging app.
It makes it difficult to type as I have to keep missing these letters out.
I have not changed any settings on my phone, it suddenly started to happen today..
Any ideas?
Go to settings, applications, quicklaunch. And disable all keyboard shortcuts.

Try a hard reboot (turn off the phone with fastboot disabled if you have Sense). This happened to me when I was running MIUI for abit, a reboot eliminated the problem.

This is the easiest way. No one really uses those.

Holding down the search key for 4 seconds fixes it as well

Disabling Stock Keyboard

This has probably been asked before, but is there a way to disable the stock keyboard in ICS? I just switched to using the new Swiftkey and the little pop up in the notification bar is driving me crazy.
I went into Keyboard settings and unchecked the Selector Notification...but for some reason, it still shows up. Anyone know how I can make this go away?

If you are running stock, no. But some roms have added it as an option to remove that.
good day.
I'm running ParanoidAndroid. I disabled the notification indicator...but it still shows up, probably because the stock keyboard is still enabled.

You can rename or just delete system/app/LatinIME.apk and if you don't use google voice typing then untick it in language and input.
good day.
Just disable the stock keyboard in applications...
EDIT.. Once you disable "Android Keyboard" in applications, you have to reboot.
Google Voice Typing is still an option though.. so you may have to disable that too if the notification appears.
Second edit... after unchecking Google Voice Typing... the language selector is no longer there.

This may be a little late, but regarding the Galaxy S4, if your phone is rooted, you can find an App Manager app, or download ROM Toolbox, and you can go find Samsung Keyboard, and either freeze, or uninstall it, I chose to freeze it just in case I ever had to use it again, I downloaded Swiftkey years ago and that little notification icon has been seriously bothering me

Galaxy S3 Sprint Text Messaging no voice?

If anyone can help, I can't believe I can't figure this out.
On my old HTC Evo, when replying to a text message, you can
press the microphone button and speak to text then send it.
On my new GSIII, the keyboard has a setting option to see the
microphone speak icon on the keyboard. I have it checked and
I can NOT see the microphone icon or input button using voice?
Is this a rom problem that needs update, or am I missing something
here? How do I get the mic button to show on texting to use voice?
Thanks, and I am rooted but stock rom/kernel. Rom manager also
does not work for me, says I need to install clockwork recovery,
but when I rooted it, it did. Also Rom manager doesn't have GSIII
in its list yet.
Belongs in Q&A.

I have the mic icon on my keyboard and it works... long press the "gear" button and then select the mic one.
Wrong thread lol

Sorry about the wrong forum.
But thanks a million, I was just pressing the gear.
I've had android for a year and never knew you
can LONG press the gear and get more options,
the mic shows up now!
No problem. Usually buttons that have, the 3 little dots on them, have different settings or do different actions.
I know this is an old thread, but I seem to be having the same issue...
EXCEPT, when I long press the gear I do not have the microphone as an option. the voice input option is checked in settings, any suggestions?
I'm on FreeGS3 v0.2.0 if that makes any difference

I had the same problem with voice-to-text with the stock keyboard and the stock Swype... The icon was there, but it would error out. I installed the latest Swype Beta and its working again.
I'm running FreeGS, too.

Two isssues that are annoying me.

First the one handed operation, I try to disable it by unchecking the option but dor some reason it just continues to default to one handed operation while im typing.
Second issue is the default program option, I check always and go to applications manager but im unable to add always to a particular operation, like instragram, ie, twitter. Any help would be great.

Have you rebooted your GN2? I had a problem where the default launcher choice wouldn't stick until after I rebooted.

Try rebooting your phone, is your keyboard showing full-screen at all? It has two multi-touch gestures built in that can not be turned off, and poorly implemented to boot. Pushing your thumbs together from the outside edge to the middle will turn on one handed mode. Then from middle with two fingers/thumbs out to edge of the screen will put it back into full-screen mode. Most of the time this only happens to me when I'm typing, not when I'm showing off the feature. :silly:
How did you get your the phone launcher to stick?

Because I tinker with several launchers, I find it easiest to just use the Home Switcher app (free on Google Play).
I don't remember for sure how I got my preferred launcher to "stick", though. I may have gone into Settings/Application Manager/All, scrolled-down and opened "TouchWiz Home" and pressed the Clear Defaults button. Then rebooted. After that, Home Switcher seemed to work as intended.
I was gonna start a thread.. but I'll bring it here, i decided to use the auto screen brightness it didn't last to long.. the screen on auto seems to change brightness allot.. but with auto brightness off its fine... does anyone have issues with auto brightness on?? Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T889
The Galaxy S1 was the same way. I never use auto brightness.

[Q] Choose Input Method in Messages

Anyone know why every time I enter Messaging, I see a keyboard icon in the top left and in it says "Choose input method" in the notification screen. I have Swype selected, and even if I select it again, it still remains until I exit Messaging.
