Hi, I install new official ROM on my Desire Z. And something is wrong. On screen is just red triangel. Phone is frozen. When i go to bootloader, nothings happend. Recovery doesnt work
Anybody help me...please.
I assume your phone is rooted. Here is what I can provide so far and hopefully help fix your situation
In order for this to work you have to have recovery working. I'm sure your phone has died by now or you have at least done a battery pull. If so try these steps
1. Make sure G2 is off and plugged in Via USB on your computer
2. Push and hold the VOLUME DOWN BUTTON while also pushing down and holding the POWER BUTTON. After a few seconds it should boot into bootloader
IF STEP NUMBER 1 DOES NO SUCCEED THEN THE NEXT STEPS WILL NOT APPLY AND SORRY THAT I HAVE NO OTHER KNOWLEDGE TO FIX
3. Using the volume rocker, select recovery and push the power button to accept
4. You should now be in recovery
5. Using the volume rocker or track pad, navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset, push track pad to select, track pad to accept "yes I want to want" (or something along those lines )
6. After data has been wiped navigate to Wipe Cache and do same as above
7. Navigate to storage and mounts, scroll down to mount storage and select
8. Your SD should now appear on your computer and freely view your SD card as normal.
9. Check to see if the Rom zip that you used is still on your SD card, if not. Drop on the root of your SD card. The root of your SD card is basically the location which when your SD first opens up on your computer that shows all the folders. Just drop it Anywhere
10. Back to the G2, unmount storage
11. Press back until you are back to the main Recovery page
12. Navigate to advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache
13. Back to Main Recovery Page
14. Select Install Zip
15. Select install zip from sd card
16. Select the Rom Zip, then Yes I want To Install
17. Back to Main recovery Page
18. Reboot System
19. Smile and say, "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY"

[Q] Unable to view internal storage

After deciding to put my Kindle Fire HD to use as something other than a .cbr reader I rooted my Kindle and tried to flash it. (sorry if I'm using the wrong terms I'm a noob) I was able to root it. After following the guide I was using further and enter a bunch of stuff into the command prompt and having to reboot again I got stuck on the KindleFire start up screen with a blue "Fire". I can access the TWRP menu by holding the Vol. Up button but my Kindle isn't appearing on my computer so I can't copy the CM10.1 custom ROM to install it.
I believe that all I need to do is somehow copy the CM10.1 custom ROM file to my Kindle but I can't figure out a way to do it. I'm running Win 7 on one machine and Vista on another and the drivers successfully installed on both so I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

At the main screen of TWRP, tap Mounts, next, make sure there is ONLY an X next to sdcard. Tap Mount. Your kindle will now appear as visible on your computer. Transfer the ROM and the correct version of gapps to the root of your internal storage. Once it is done transferring, unmount sdcard. Go back to the main screen of TWRP. Tap wipe. Do a factory reset (wipe data) and wipe dalvik cache and cache. Back at the main screen tap install, find the ROM and select it. Wait while it flashes the ROM then go back into install and flash gapps.
Wipe dalvik again and then reboot. You should be all set with a nice working kindle

[Q] need help restoring kindle to stock

I seem to have tried to wipe everything on my kindle fire first generation trying to restore as my backup of the stock rom has been deleted. It was also not currently on any rom and i can not get it to boot up it just stays in the twrp boot screen instead of transitioning to the normal orange and white one. I can however still boot into recovery just not to the rom itself being that there is none. The mount option does not work as it will not come up visibly on the computer or under the hardware/device manager. So all in all i have no way to connect my kindle to install the stock rom back again. Please help as fast as possible. I have checked many other threads to no avail and this is were im at stuck with a dead kindle.

Go into mounts inside TWRP and mount sdcard. Once sdcard is mounted you will be able to see it on your computer when a USB cable is connected. Place a different rom onto the sdcard and unmount sdcard. Wipe data (factory reset) and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Go to install and install the new rom you placed onto the sdcard. You should be all set, it should boot now.
If it doesn't, you may be stuck in fastboot. To get out of fastboot, connect to the computer and run KFU and select number 1.

some rooting help PLEASE

Ok i would like to help andro vista for the help he has given me, but he is gone to bed due to time in India.
I followed AV's instructions
Amazon Kindle Fire First Gen ('otter' is the codename)
You are running stock.
By rooting you do not get updated to the latest version of android.
You get access to the system files though.
Here are the steps.
1) ensure your battery is at least 90% before doing all this.
2) go and download kfu 0.9.9
3) extract it to your desktop
4) open the folder and run install-drivers.bat
5) install the drivers
6) now install the drivers
7) open the run. Bat file
8) now connect the kindle to the computer
9) if you installed the drivers correctly then under the options it should show
Adb Status nline
Boot Status: 4000
10) select option 2- install permanent root with superuser
THIS WILL NOT UPGRADE THE ANDROID VERSION!
WAIT DUDE GO BELOW
11) now the device should reboot after booting into a recovery.
12) Do this step only AFTER IT BOOT NORMALLY, THAT IS, TO THE LOCK SCREEN
Go to run.bat and select option 3 - install latest TWRP recovery
After it reboots go to the lock screen
Now shut the device down. Switch it on. Yes don't panic, the kindle fire logo is blue! At this point again push the power button. It should cycle through a list. Release the button when it says recovery.
It will not you into a cool gray screen. On the top, make due it says 2.6.3.1
IF YES, go to reboot button
System
Now no need to press the button
Time to transfer files!
13)This is the OS I made. Download it. This is the latest KitKat operating system.
Put it in the downloads folder of the kindle. Make sure the download is complete.
DO NOT EXTRACT THE ZIP FILE
14) shut the kindle down and then boot in recovery.
15) in recovery, click backup. Select all partitions on the left.
Swipe to backup
The back up will take time. This completely stores all your OS files and data.
16) go to home by clicking the icon in the top right.
17) go to wipe and select advanced wipe.
18) select all OTHER THAN SDCARD
this wipes all your data and the operating system. It is very necessary
19) now go home
20) click install
21) go to the downloads folder and select the file you just put in download
The infriction one
22) select it and swipe to confirm flash!
23) wait. After its done select reboot system
24) after the blue kindle fire logo, notice any difference! That's the in friction bout animation! It goes of screen at first but comes back properly. Wait some time!
You have installed latest android KitKat! And g Google play store! Download your UK apps!
If you have any doubts/queries fell free to all me!
Everything was fine until i got to step 15 backup and the kindle got stuck backing up.
So he said to install flashify.
I got confused by this and thought (extremely stupidly) that I could retry flashing it, by restoring the kindle to factory settings, and starting from step 1 i could try again
I was totally wrong , and now I have this when I boot the kindle it still has the blue logo, and the three options and will boot normally
When i boot the kindle up it flashes with the blue screen with the screen options allowing normal boot etc, Anyone got any ideas how to start again
sorry i feel so stupid so could really use your help PLEASE guys as andro is gone for the night
update
ok i tried various things to try to get it to root, and made a mess of it.
Stopping now before I make a complete hash of it.
The only files left on the kindle fire first gen, are twrp v 2.0.0 so if someone could guide me in the right direction id appreciate it
nothing else seems to be left on it
windows 7 x64
all it does it boot into TWRP V2.0.0

[Q] Help w rooted? kindle fire 1st gen

I am a non developer (Read older woman and have never rooted however a couple years ago I bought 1st gen kindle fire running Cryogen mod. All went well until I decided to give away kindle and wanted to remove personal data.
after reading as much as I can I stumbled in here and found this on my kindle after repeatedly trying to re boot:
CWM- Based Recovery v5.0.2.7 Full (by DooMLoRD)
Amazon Kindle Fire : v01-FINAL : TouchEdition by team UtterChaos
-reboot options
-install zip from sd card
-apply/sdcard/update.zip
-factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off
*******Go Back***********
Then it says more about Build:
CWM-Based Recovery V5.0.2.7 FULL (by DooMLoRD)
Built on:
Thu March 8 00:30:48 1st 2012
date time info then :
Current Kernel:
2.6.35.7+Lite
Ihave pressed several of those options and wanted to reset to original kindle functions but when it goes to boot the page says:
Kindle Fire (the fire is blue)
the bottom of the page says press power button to boot
it gives choices of:
Normal boot
Recovery
and reset boot mode
I have tried all of the above with no results I am obviously in over my head. I am patient and will try to follow any directions to the letter that I am given.
I appreciate your help and attention I hope I have given the information needed Thank you Very much

When you see options Normal boot, Recovery , and reset boot mode, that is the Bootloader
first could try selecting normal boot, just press and hold power button to scroll through boot menu options, release when normal boot is highlighted.
---------- Post added at 10:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 AM ----------
If normal boot does not work, try selecting reset boot mode
---------- Post added at 10:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ----------
If that does not work, and it's bootlooping (just says kindle fire over and over)
press power button till it powers off, release button and then power back on.
Select Recovery option
CWM- Based Recovery v5.0.2.7 Full (by DooMLoRD) is a older custom recovery, but should be fine.
I haven't used this version much so wording may not be quite right.
select factory reset, and confirm yes is asked, when reset is done, select reboot (may need to select home first)
Thank you for the quick response.
The device verified that it did factory reset.
In the programming page:
I now see in re boot Options are:
-reboot system now
-reboot into recovery
-reboot into fast boot mode
First I tried selecting reboot system now with the power switch as you suggested. it just keeps going to Kindle Fire (Fire is in blue)saying booting... and going back to Kindle Fire.
I closed and re opened.
Next I tried reset boot mode. (from the Kindle page)
it also returned back to the Kindle Fire page with reboot options on the bottom of page
Normal boot
Recovery
reset boot mode
I went back to reset boot mode and tried fast reboot and it seems to also take me back to the Kindle Fire page . Is this a boot loop?
thank you again

Yes, it's bootlooping or just won't boot.
power off kindle, connect to wall charger and see if it will charge,
you don't want battery to get too low or you will have a real problem.
If it will not boot to charge mode, try CWM recovery , it may charge in that mode or at least report battery status
I would
Download my pre root 6.3.3 stock rom update-kindle-prerooted.6.3.3.v1.zip
verify MD5: b4dda6ea38ad0748a7b4639ca6da95c4 see https://sites.google.com/site/sdshadowscollection/home/hash-checksums
Install Kindle Fire Drivers with Kindle Fire Utility
extract files from Kindle Fire Utility v0.9.9.zip, close zip, open kindle fire utility folder, run install.drivers.bat
reboot PC
connect kindle fire to pc, boot to recovery, select mounts and storage, check sd card, and select usb mount
you should get a pop up on PC about a storage device, select open, and copy update-kindle-prerooted.6.3.3.v1.zip to kindle
select unmount on kindle, then install zip from sd card, select update-kindle-prerooted.6.3.3.v1.zip, when install is complete , select reboot (reboot system now)
