InsertCoin vs Revolution HD - HTC One X

I'm about to choose a custom ROM to install on my One X.
It will either be InsertCoin or ARHD. But I can't really find the differences between them. Both seems very robust.
Could anyone tell me why to install X instead of Y?

Its about prrsonal prefences. If you cant find any difference just go with the one currently installed.

Try both and choose the best for you. I'm using ARHD. In my opinion the best rom

currently I am on stock with faux kernel
But if there aren't any major differences I think I'll go with ARHD since it seems more active (only little though hehe).

There is no best ROM, it's subjective. Find one you like the look of and give it a go, don't like it, try another.
I understand m8 but I'm kinda new to all this flashing custom Rom stuff and just want a stable and fast Rom that does everything the stock 2.2 does and more with the g1 only cm was available through Rom manager so just used that where the desire has a lot of options lol

If you want sense you should either go for a SenseHD rom, or a MoDaCo one.
If you want stock Android, I would recommend CyanogenMod!
You know you don't need to download and flash roms solely through ROM Manager?
My advice is just to look at the ROM forum and download the one with the most hits, it's popular for a reason. There are really only two different types of ROM, Sense and the stock Android bundled usually with ADW.Launcher. It's not like WM where there are a plethora of different mods and registry changes, at least not in my limited experience.
I agree just neva been this spoilt for choice

have you updated to Froyo yet? As far as I know, they are just 2.2 Froyo radios. So if you have updated to 2.2 chances are you don't need to update. (Double check with the radio thing, I am an Android newbie as well so I am not 100% sure.)
As for the kernel, as far as I know you don't need to update this either.
For Sense roms I strongly suggest LeeDroid, and Desire HD roms I'd go for RCMixHD (Camera still not working yet, but it should be fixed soon), non Sense roms, go for OpenDesire, Cyanogen or MIUI
Agreed, if you want to try something refreshingly different, try MIUI.
Still ain't a clue which one to try lol
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
well try Leedroid first, then MIUI for non-sense, and see if you are attracted to sense or not

Also try CyanogenMod or OpenDesire to see if you like Stock Android.
There is no harm in trying different roms and switching if you want!
I've used cm 6 before Ive not flashed roms without using Rom manager and leeroid isn't available through that there's only a small section like cm, defrost nd others
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
IT's not too hard
1. Download Leedroid rom from their minisite's dropbox folder.
2. copy file onto your sd card
3. reboot into recovery
Important part!!
DO A NANDROID BACKUP!!!
i. select backup/restore
ii. select backup and let it rip
iii. return to menu
4. select flash .zip
5. find the leedroid rom & select it
Cheers for help just one more question once I've flashed a custom Rom if I ever wanted to return to stock how would I go about doing it

Most people use either leaks or hybrids. I switched from AuraxTremeGinger 8.6 two days ago to SGBS, and it seems nice so far. I mainly did that because some oinks from SGS2 forums drove NeoPhyTe from development, otherwise, AuraxTremeGinger was super stable - used it from day one.
But, if I knew how to circumvent small cache with oxygen hboot, I'd modify auraxtsense 8.4 and stick with it from now till the end of time. Most high profile developers are slowly leaving Desire scene, so I don't think that gingerbread and it's kernels will get that same state of perfection FroYo did.

So isn't a recovery which is used by everyone. Some use clockworkmod, some amonra, some rmd (modification from nexus s-amonra to desire) and some use 4xt.
im using Reflex S (LOVE it)
my recovery is clockwork
I think the ROM you have now (RCMix S) is near the top of the Sense ROMs for quality. InsertCoin is much the same, while CrystalPayramid and CoolSensation are similar again, but use the 3DRosie from Sensation/Pyramid ROM, as well as a few extras.
As to recovery, I am on CWM 3.x.x
What do people prefer more acemod or insertcoin

stock rom and kernal

hi i have unlocked my bootloader and i have root i was wondering could i flash the bricked kernal and use it on the stock rom that came with the handset or do i have to flash a custom rom before this thanks
you can't flash any kernals onto the htc one x ever , even if we obtain s-off, you can however flash any kernels onto a stock rom, be sure to check wether the kernel is compatible with sense roms, after you have also rooted your device

what on earth you are talking about..of course you can flash a kernel on the one x..you just have to flash the boot.img through fastboot which is in bootloader and flash the modules of the custom kernel you choose..of course you have to be rooted to be able to do that..once we have s-off then we be able to flash kernels through recovery like the good old fashion way
Yes but flashing kernals on the HOX will forever be out of the question

Is the any kernel for the one X that can OC to 1.8GHz or are we trapped at 1.5Ghz on this beast. Also is it possible to get governors like Smartass and such. I been doing a tone of android research. I just wanna know if it's possible for us to do these type of things with our kernel

i read some were that the faux kernel can be over clocked to 1.7 or 1.8
Well, the problem is that it will probably catch fire if you overclock it to 1,8GHz

[Q] HTC ONE X with CM 10.1 Nightly battery drain

Hi all, i flashed my One X to CM 10.1 Nightly, but the battery drain is awfull. I tried to flash it with the franco kernel but that made my phone stuck in BOOT. I heard of a Semaphore kernel, but i cant find one for the One X only for the Nexus 4 and SIII.....any ideas anyone
Only use aosp based kernels, and kernels for JB roms......franco/faux kernels are for ICS based roms ! Not gonna work
Try XM kernel

What does aosp based mean??
Senseless roms based on pure Google source.
aosp stands for android open source project. Mostly means that there is no HTC sense shell added
So when you are on CM10.1 you need the aosp version of the xm kernel if you wish to try that.

That will be the kernel modules or the boot.IMG you flashed.
I would suggest using the snapshot rather than nightly.
