Jelly bean update for Galaxy Nexus in Saudi Arabia - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Does anyone received jelly bean update for Galaxy Nexus in Saudi Arabia?.
Google started JB roll out more than a month ago. I'm waiting for the official OTA update. When will I get the official update?
Thanks!

Thanks for helping me to understand the different galaxy nexus variants. Mine is yakju(jp). I understand that the update for this variant has to come from Samsung and not from Google.
But when will I get the update from Samsung? Does they started rolling out?
Thanks

when they feel like and no one knows when it will be out.

If i recall correctly, you can change from Yakju to Takju and get updates directly from good. not completely sure HOW this is done or if it can be done on your particular carrier, but its something to look into.

[Q] Update Galaxy Nexus ?

Hello,
Ive got 2 Galaxy nexus one bought from US store and one from a UK store, both are not the LTE versions.
i got OTA update from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2 OTA on the UK one but not yet for the US.
I dont want to brick the phone so Id like some help please, ive never used nexus phones before so i apologize for all the questions.
is it possible to flash it to the US one? and if i do will i still get OTA updates when they roll out or would i have to always do it manually?
the US one is 4.0.1 baseband: XXKK1 Kernel: ga052f63 Build: ITL41F
and i the UK one is 4.0.2 baseband: KK6 kernel: gaaa2611 Build: ICL53F after OTA update.
Do use Gnex Toolkit v4.1 ? and without rooting?
Thanks guys

Sorry about Bumping,,,,,,,still awaiting reply please
you won't brick.
there is no U.S. firmware for the Galaxy Nexus.
there are only three types of OTAs:
yakju: Google supported (GSM)
mysid: Google supported (LTE)
variants of yakju (yakjuxw,yakjuux,etc): GSM
flash it.

Thanks Zephik, the app helped me alot
The product name is yakjuxw and it says its NOT updated by Google.
does this mean they wont ever update? or just currently its not yet pushed through?

it still receives updates but it comes from Samsung. still a stock experience, just comes with extra languages and things like that.
you can convert it to a yakju (search it).
updates often come out for yakju more frequently than the variations of yakju
If I convert it to a yakju, will this affect my warranty? If yes, can I convert it back to my current one?

Based on my modest knowledge, if the nexus doesn't have a flash counter and u flash back to yakuxw u shouldnt lose warranted. Better ask the professionals here in xda though.

You won't lose your warranty if you flash a official firmware, I did that when I changed to yakju.

yakjuzs (GSM) 4.0.4

Have anyone received the 4.0.4 OTA update on their yakjuzs (GSM HK version)?
no nothing yet. It might take a while with the signal loss issue; I'd rather wait and get a stable OS. https://code.google.com/p/android/i...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=28133
yakjuzs
Anyone got it yet?
nope. waiting also. i have the HK nexus but im in manila.
well they sorted out the signal issue with a patch but it was still on 4.0.4 for the yakju builds. hopefully we get a real OTA soon.

yeah its fixed. but they never made 4.0.4 for non yakju builds. maybe they are waiting for 4.0.5 or something before they roll it out to all builds.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting. If you were stock I would flash the tajku image as the US variant is likely to get it first anyway.
Non-yakju devices will have to wait for their carrier to update it.

Nexus not getting OTA

Hi Friends,
I have bought Galaxy Nexus in Singapore(currently using it in India) and it is in 4.0.2 version. When I do a system update check it shows that the software is up to date. How to get OTA for my phone? I want to taste Jelly Bean without using any custom ROM...
Also, my phone's product name is Yakjuxw and I found that the OTA will not be updated by Google but by Samsung. Is the problem because of this?
Thanks in Advance,
Kumaran

Thats the problem right there, samsung hasnt updated there versions past 4.0.2 and there are no signs theyre doing it(4.0.4) so dont expect any JB ota anytime soon
So yeah youre gonna have to wait a long time man
I suggest you flash a yakju/takyu image and wait for the OTA in mid july
Or
Use the root method offered here

Thanks for your prompt reply.
Sure, I will flash yakju image this weekend and wait till July. If the OTA gets delayed then I will root my phone for JB
Thanks,
Kumaran

OTA Update 4.1.2 is that going to happen to Yakju devices soon?

So is this update out there for out S Galaxy Nexus devices yet? or should we flash it ourselves with the file that was released yesterday for the Nexus 7?
Never flash ROM from different variant...
Galaxy Nexus doesn't have 4.1.2 yet, but people in the development forum had complied a nice pure AOSP ROM that is based on 4.1.2

Sorry but what does that mean? should i flash that AOSP ROM? or should i wait for the OTA?
Well if you really want that minor update, by all means, go ahead. I'm not doing you, but I personally am going to wait for AOKP to update
Also AOSP means android open source project. Pure AOSP is basically means stock

well the full factory image is out for Takju, but doing so will wipe your entire phone.. hope the OTA for yakju comes sooner..

It'll be out sooner than later.

Gnex do have 4.1.2.

Takju only though, so Yakju got to wait a few more hours i guess.

Yes the factory image hit, but the OTA isn't available.
Word is that the images weren't even supposed to go up today. There was supposed to be an OTA to Google employees' devices for final dogfooding.
When it's officially rolling out to takju devices you'd better bet its rolling out to yakju at the exact same time.

I guess takju have Wallet, Play Mag, Play Book and Play Movie. Yakju don't have these i think.
I'm probably wrong, so someone double confirm on this.
4.1.2 OTA to newly purchased Galaxy nexus
will a newly purchased Galaxy nexus that is still running 4.0.4 receive the OTA for 4.1.2 ? OR at first it needs to have 4.1.1 running to receive the OTA ?
Is there any possibility that the 4.1.1 OTA will still be available for the new device ?

I would guess yes. You will first get the update to 4.1.1 before 4.1.2.
Which version do you have since you're still on 4.0.4?
