yakjuzs (GSM) 4.0.4 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Have anyone received the 4.0.4 OTA update on their yakjuzs (GSM HK version)?

no nothing yet. It might take a while with the signal loss issue; I'd rather wait and get a stable OS. https://code.google.com/p/android/i...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=28133

yakjuzs
Anyone got it yet?

nope. waiting also. i have the HK nexus but im in manila.
well they sorted out the signal issue with a patch but it was still on 4.0.4 for the yakju builds. hopefully we get a real OTA soon.

yeah its fixed. but they never made 4.0.4 for non yakju builds. maybe they are waiting for 4.0.5 or something before they roll it out to all builds.

You probably have yakjuwtf build rather than yakju, so your Galaxy Nexus is less blessed than any other.
Joking aside. Many SGN's have modified builds with some regional and/or carrier changes. Personally I don't believe that otas for yakjuwtf are made by Samsung. I think that google makes them, but it takes more time due to those little differences.
You will receive your OTA soon. At this point none of nonyakju builds, that I heard of, had received OTA to 4.0.2.

If you have a Virgin, Bell, Rogers, or Telus Galaxy Nexus, then you have one with a yakjuux build. No one with a yakjuux build has received the OTA to 4.0.2 yet -- it is still coming. If you want 4.0.2 right now, you need to flash a yakju build. See instructions in my sig.

The problem with these slow updates is that we are always months behind the most recent bug fixes and feature enhancements. Considering there are no carrier modifications added to the firmware, there's no good excuse for such long delays in getting these out to customers.

[Q] Terminology questions

Is there a thread that explains the terminology commonly used around here?
What is toro?
What is maguro?
What is a milestone?
Seems like ROM devs are using this term in place of "stable"?
Where can I find out what the latest available OTA is for the CDMA gnex?

Just out of curiosity, where did you end up getting it from (if you can share that info)?
I just got my phone today and I'm loving it. It shipped with 4.0.2 and I ran a system update check and says its completely up to date. Does the CDMA Gnex not have official OTA's for 4.0.3 and 4.0.4? Do these have to be flashed manually?

There never was any 4.0.3 OTA update for any GN device. 4.0.4 OTA is not yet available for CDMA devices yet, but there is a leak in the thread I linked to above.

How can I check it? I haven't got even to 4.0.4 so it makes sense for me that I wont be updated..
If I root my phone, will my sms(which arent sycronised) deleted?and what about the rest of my information on the phone? can it damage my phone?
Rooting and flashing ROM's can damage your handset if you don't know what you're doing. Most flashing errors can be erectified though.
Where are you located in the world?
Verizon and Sprint are US based LTE handsets, they arent sold outside the states since they cant work on other LTE networks. Take a picture of your "About phone" page (screenshots can be taken with pressing "Volume down + Power" simultaniously.

Have you tried to clear Google framework data and the try to check for updates again?

I understand your confusion. A Nexus phone should get the update as soon as possible.
I just updated my phone yesterday, thanks to efrant how to guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170&highlight=yakjuzs
the problem is so many builds, I learned that yakju build is directly supported by google. However, today I learned that the build takju got the Jellybean update. Question what about the rest, yakjuux, yakjuzs, yakjujp.....etc.? I don't know, only android team knows the update process, so I hope they post something about that in google+, but I doubt that.
We have to wait, either get it OTA(which my never happen) or flash the update manually as soon google post the update URL's specified for your phone build.
If you have quadrant standard installed you can see your build under system information.

If i recall correctly, you can change from Yakju to Takju and get updates directly from good. not completely sure HOW this is done or if it can be done on your particular carrier, but its something to look into.

OTA Update 4.1.2 is that going to happen to Yakju devices soon?

So is this update out there for out S Galaxy Nexus devices yet? or should we flash it ourselves with the file that was released yesterday for the Nexus 7?
Never flash ROM from different variant...
Galaxy Nexus doesn't have 4.1.2 yet, but people in the development forum had complied a nice pure AOSP ROM that is based on 4.1.2

Yes the factory image hit, but the OTA isn't available.
Word is that the images weren't even supposed to go up today. There was supposed to be an OTA to Google employees' devices for final dogfooding.
When it's officially rolling out to takju devices you'd better bet its rolling out to yakju at the exact same time.

4.1.2 OTA to newly purchased Galaxy nexus
will a newly purchased Galaxy nexus that is still running 4.0.4 receive the OTA for 4.1.2 ? OR at first it needs to have 4.1.1 running to receive the OTA ?
Is there any possibility that the 4.1.1 OTA will still be available for the new device ?
