after rooting my desire i decided to change ril. from that point all the custom roms i install they have one and only on problem. they dont lock any satellite no matter how much hour searching...i left it one day from 10-30 minutes and the other day 2-3 hours....in open space. nothing. it was searching and searching...what you sugget ? i have tried everything. gps fix, gps status toolbox, reset and download gps.conf, even the a-gps patch. nothing worked at all.
thank you
You flashed radio or RIL?

Think of RIL's as the driver software between your OS and your radio. Change rom's and you change RIL's.
But your radio is not changed. The radio and RIL need to work together. You need to find out what radio you have and download and flash the ril for it.
Note there are different requirements for different rom's. With a bit of searching in this forum you can find the right RIL for your ROM and radio.

that is clearly my mistake. I should have written something else.
I had written a reply but then realized I posted it in the wrong thread. I came back, erased it, and wrote "wrong thread". I hope that answers your question.

Dang you guys are on the ball in here! I just got it fully downloaded and I'm uploading it to a mirror now.
I'm just reading through and wanted to know about it.. I don't know much about this and since it says radio, is it just the radio or like an official test rom from tmobile??? Even though I don't mess with these, just wanted to be informed

This is a full dump of the Gingerbread ROM for the Vision. The Radio in the name is just telling you want Radio version is included. This is the same for every HTC ROM
is the hboot ENG?
also, is the rom ext3 or ext4?
Awesome! I will give it a try tonight
I installed just the radio and I know these posts look silly but seriously, my signal has seemed to be stronger and quicker to switch to H.

Has the actual RUU or signed ROM been leaked anywhere? If I understand it right, this would theoretically give those of us with 1.22 S-ON soft bricks at least a working phone again.
I am sorry if this sounds redundant.
This means there is a radio that is included that will be installed along with the rom if we flash this through Hboot?
WHICH is the latest radio and ril..and where can i download it from.??

And do not change radios and especially rils without the need to. If anything works you will not have many benefits from changing and maybe you break something..newest is not always best...
The latest radio is 5.17.05.23 There's a thread in desire Android development section I think

HiHi
I have tried a few ICS ROMS, and none of them found the 3G networks around me (of course, I already UNchecked the setting "Show only 2G networks").
Is it a known issue ?
bye
Nico
Some thingd are still not working in ICS. Check the changelog of the ROMS you flashed see if that's a known issue.

Radios for ICS are different then radios for SENSE ROM's for example. So make sure you flash a proper radio and read well on how to do it.

I'm running Lords DesireHD build. Which are you running? There are some forums around for configuring specific APN settings on the phone, might worth a try. I've been running this and 4G (or HSPA+) has been working great for me.
Flashing a radio in ICS is same as Gingerbread... it's ROM independent.
I am opening this thread to discuss on the ROM Runnymede AIO, since the development thread is closed.
Please feel free to post any thing related to Runnymede AIO ROM.

Hi, I flashed unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightlies / Releases [SR1.1] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093845). Everything is great, but there is a GPS issue on my phone. There is totally no GPS signal. I tried many gps fix patches, such as inspiremod+gps fix, agps.patch.google.build.nossl.v3.1 and some gps fix apps, but none works.
My phone is S-ON, and HBOOT-2.00.0029. Radio-26-.14.04.28_M.
I tried to S-OFF it, but failed. And I looked ways to flash radio with S-ON, but it also didn't work.
Please give me some advice. Thank you.
I posted the question here because I, as a new member, was not permitted to reply to the thread I mentioned above.

Thank you, ammo12. Have you tried the ROM called ELLYTIME for DHD/Inspire4g - 4.2.2 R11? I tried, but still has no luck. I may turn to the Android Revolution HD 2.3.5 with Sense 3.5 later. Thank you for suggesting it.

And when you suffered no WiFi, probably you need to flash boot.img for the new ROM. It works on my phone.

Yes, on DHD you have allways to flash boot.img manually, it doesn't work with recovery install alone.
Finally, I fixed the GPS issue by updating the radio.
The first step is to S-OFF it. Here is what I used to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2367322
The second step is to update radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...81&postcount=2
After that, I used TopNTP, which is available from Google Play, to configure the GPS.
Now the GPS can fix my location in 10 seconds.
