http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738350 Saw this posted in international thread confirmed working
EDIT: Thanks danny 6514 for the zip with the proper mounting points for our phones
Can you please confirm with which ROM this MOD works? Thanks.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I definitely see how some people are saying they didn't see any changes, I sure don't....
I'm on the stock deodexed ROM with my transition set to 0.5x, but I don't think that would screw up anything, I just don't see those transitions from the video
EDIT - as stated below (and should be stated in the OP of the post linked with the actual download), you have mount /system FIRST in CWM and then you can flash the zip, it works only then....

which one did you download? Because I've been trying this for a few days, and it isn't working.

I downloaded the one on the first post there, it didn't work until I read that you need to go mounts and storage > mount /system then install zip from sdcard.
After I did that it appears to work, although I feel like not all of them have changed, I'm not sure... I never paid much attention to the animations.

Fixed Version for I747M
The updater script in the file OP referenced is not correct. The mounting points for system and data are incorrect, thus why some people are reporting you have to manually mount system first.
Attached is the corrected version, simply flash in CWM. No need to mount.
Tested on Telus s3

Just tried again with the file I uploaded and it worked. Did you try redownloading? Which s3 are you using?

Turns out, I did have a bad download the first time. Redownloaded and reflashed... all is good on AT&T, stock, deodexed. Thanks!
Can someone confirm that this works on the T-mobile version of SIII?

Go into terminal emulator on your phone and type "cat /proc/mounts"
In there verify that "/dev/block/mmcblk0p14" and "/dev/block/mmcblk0p15" are /system and /data respectively. If it is, then it will work.
Thanks
this works awesome!!
This verification is for T-Mobile gs3?

Anybody did this? Will it work?
No. Itll fail Odins device check to make sure you are flashing the right firmware for your phone.

I flashed it with mobile Odin pro, excluded recovery and modem. I'm with Videotron, I think its the same as the Mobilicity variant.
Worked great, no issues.

He could first flash the T-Mobile stock ICS ROM and from then flash jb ROM or he wouldn't need to if ota recognized it as T999 instead of T999v on stock T-Mobile ROM..either way make a backup of your imei before doing anything and a back up .good luck

Right, but with Mobile odin you dont get the full update, (so why not just flash from recovery).
For the otas you can mod the build.prop, or the ota itself, but I believe its a bit more complicated when using odin. Was going to look at a little better tonight. Someone else asked me the exact same thing earlier.

Pretty much what doc is saying here. If you guys are unsure about something, it is likely because it is a bad idea. ROMs are specific to builds, carriers, etc... it is just not worth the risk.
Partitions, in theory should be the same as far as what is being updated - x is being flashed to x partition... just not a good idea. You flash a radio to the wrong partition... game over... hope you had the insurance.

AFAIK the clockwork doesn't depend on whether you are on aosp or else.
I guess the stability is about the same but I'd prefer TWRP because it's more userfriendly and has more features.
And as I never had emulated sdcard issues, i can't tell u anything about that.

OK. Cool.. Where did u get your download for twrp? I tried using goo manager. But it says it was going to install a att version.. All Roms in too is att. Seemed sketchy.. Am I missing something ???
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Did you flash an at&t rom? That's the main reason it'd do that to you. Check your build prop for i747 and d2att. Google how to do that if you aren't sure. Your SIG shows the use of it so I'm guessing you did.

I used CWM for years and started having problems with it when I started flashing 4.2. CWM had some problems flashing the roms correctly and with the multiple profile storage and TWRP was a little ahead of them when it came to fixing those problems. So I jumped to TWRP and never looked back. I prefer it for serveral reasons. The interface is more friendly, backing up and restoring roms are a bit faster and the overall fetures will keep me with TWRP.
So i have a Galaxy S3 i747m, and was wondering if the"code name" for my phone is d2att?
I did a bit of reading around but couldnt dig up any info on how to find this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe d2can
Essentially yes, it's actually a d2can but they are exactly the same phone. It is perfectly safe to use anything for d2att, you may have to change your apn to get data to work properly.

Just enter in your carrier's apn(s) and you're all set. In settings > more > mobile networks > apns
Really easy, use this app to back it up. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.APNBackupRestore
Follow the instructions on the Google play description to install as system app using titanium. Then just restore after your done flashing your new Rom.

What about the modems? Each time I attempt to flash a stock i747M rom on my i747, I get a SBL2 error message.

Modems do differ.
However, the physical radio chip that's inside either phone is exactly the same.
So just flash a modem using CWM/TWRP from the thread below that corresponds to your needs.

Are you saying that it's not possible to do the flash of the entire ROM through ODIN and then flash the correct modem through CWM.

What I want to know about is the ENTIRE ROM, including the modem?
I just want to know why I'm getting the SBL2 error message when I use ODIN to do it.
Because your trying to flash the wrong stock Rom. Flash a stock Rom for the I747m and it should work. If you are trying to flash the correct stock Rom and get that error, I'm at a loss atm.

you're getting a bootloader error so i would back off trying to flash a different model's firmware otherwise you will continue to get this message.

Therefore the two devices are not the same (hardware wise).
I thought these devices came with unlocked bootloaders from factory (unlike the SGS2).
They are. If they weren't, root and customization would be almost impossible. The bootloader error doesn't signify a different hardware, just software implementation by the carrier. Have you applied the Google wallet fix, or anything that would change the device info on the build.drop?

Some ROMs (such as CyanogenMod) already have the APNs for all carriers. It automatically chooses which APNs based on what network you are using.

Not unless you have the D851 from t mobile. It's the only one with an unlocked BL. The rest of us have to wait for TWRP unless you have the phone above.
