[Q] Stock Gallery and Dropbox Integration Question

I noticed that by setting up dropbox, it automatically places my dropbox video folders at the near top of my gallery folders before picasa albums and right after the camera roll. I was wondering if there was a way to sever this integration but keep dropbox on my phone? I've looked for gallery and dropbox settings but I cannot find anything to delink the apps.
within gallery you hit menu and then select "view by" and then "content in device"
but that just changes the view, afaik, which eliminates most of the clutter. i dont want dropbox albums or picasa to sync and i have not found a way yet either.
I just removed the built in Dropbox and use the one from market.

Gallery

Whenever I open the gallery, all of the artwork from my mp3s is mixed in with the my pictures. This makes it next to impossible to find something quickly. Is there an easy way to organize them out or hide them without clicking each individual picture? This seems very dumb. My iphone, nor any other phone I've ever used does this. Thoughts?
In your music folder, put an empty text file with the filename 'nomedia' (without the quotation marks and file extention). Then in settings > apps > gallery , select clear data.

Sorry for being dense, but the hierarchical structure you listed doesn't work.
Did you mean setting>general(tab)>apps?....if so "gallery" isn't listed there. If I go into gallery and try to move the photos, it just randomly moves them around.....no labels or anything. I don't understand. Do I need to go into my windows explorer on my pc to adjust the folders?....that seems dumb that you can't easily do it from the phone.

It normally has to be done on the computer I believe but it might not let the android media scanner find your music or use the pictures for album artwork. I honestly I just use QuickPic and it has the options to hide(.no media) and exclude folders and I just select exclude folders from my main music folder so it doesn't include them.

Hi!
Yes i meant setting>general(tab)>apps. Under apps if you scroll horizontally u will find gallery under 'ALL' tab.
In order to move files, folders or any other operation to a file or folder, you need to use a file manager app. There are different file managers available for android. Personally i use ES file manager. A pretty good app called just File Manager is already there in G Pro. You can use it to manage your folders.
As jesi.james above pointed out putting the .nomedia (sorry i missed the '.' before nomedia in my previous post) file in your music folder will hide the album arts from the gallery but it will hide the music files from the music player as well. I am sorry i wasnt aware of that. i do not store my music on my phone. I listen to it from play music.
To solve your problem, i found that there is an option in the gallery menu to hide/show albums. You can choose the albumd you do not want to see in your gallery. If you have a large music collection, you will have to select the albums one by one. Frustrating.
Next option is to use Quickpic. This is a very good alternative to the default gallery and it gives you options to select folders you want show or hide in quickpic as mentioned by the guy above.

[Q] Documents and Widgets

I was wondering if anyone has discovered or knows of an app that will allow a document (word or pdf) to display as a widget or shortcut from the homescreen. Kinda like a mini binder. I have a bunch of schedules for work that I would like to display as a widget or something instead of having to open a viewer, search for the file, open and then close again.
I noticed two threads from 2012 with no answers; I'm hoping they were just forgotten about in the shuffle.

I just tried something on my 10.1 Tab Pro. In the "My Files" app, press down on a file until a marked checkbox appears. Then select the 3 dots menu on the top right. There is an option to "Add shortcut to home."
Unfortunately you can't select more than one file at a time though, you have to create the shortcut, then go back in and uncheck that one, and check another one, etc.

Iconset not shown in gallery / zooper gallery

hey,
I've downloaded some icon sets, but they aren't shown in my normal gallery.
I also reinstalled 2 other gallery apps, but they still don't show any icon.
In Zooper I got the problem, by adding a bitmap:
I haven't the ability to choose an icon of an iconset, just from my gallery and things like that.
The downloaded iconsets aren't shown there...
I also tried to choose the icons manually, with a file browser, but I cannot find the right location, where the icon set is installed.
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks a lot in advantage.

Are the iconsets zipped and put in the correct folder? I've had to unzip iconsets on computer and rezip for them to work.

Question for clarification: are you talking about Zooper icon sets (for weather, battery, etc) or are you talking about system icon sets (for apps you have installed)?

Thanks for your reply,
I've just installed them from the play store. Like a normal app.
And I'm talking about the system icon sets

Those are only accessible from within Zooper if the icon pack supports the appropriate intent. There is however a tool with which you can extract the icons from the icon pack, so you can load them into Zooper: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redphx.themex
Remember though that if you extract icons from paid packs in this way, you can not share the Zooper templates.
thanks a lot, that's exactly what I was looking for!

Odd, for some reason when I install icons off of the playstore, I can see them in my Gallery. No idea as to why that would be, but it works for me. I'm on a GS3 running CM11 d2att. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Hidden apps Write On pdf and Hancom Office

The apps come preinstalled on the device. For instance my question is can I solely use write on pdf when selecting it as a default application to open pdf files? There are no app drawer icons for either of these programs.
Better yet, is there a way to make these programs visible? Or do they just essentially run when a file type calls for them
if there hidden... how do you know if they are there? how do we come to that conclusion?
Well you can see them ONLY when you try to open one of their specific file types. Try opening a pdf and you will see write on pdf as an option. But look on uour app drawer and its nowhere to be found. Im juat curious if there is a way to actually have the icon in your app drawer
