[Q] Stock Gallery and Dropbox Integration Question - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I noticed that by setting up dropbox, it automatically places my dropbox video folders at the near top of my gallery folders before picasa albums and right after the camera roll. I was wondering if there was a way to sever this integration but keep dropbox on my phone? I've looked for gallery and dropbox settings but I cannot find anything to delink the apps.

within gallery you hit menu and then select "view by" and then "content in device"
but that just changes the view, afaik, which eliminates most of the clutter. i dont want dropbox albums or picasa to sync and i have not found a way yet either.

I just removed the built in Dropbox and use the one from market.

How do I make photos show up in Photos and Gallery?

HTC's Photos app doesn't show the photos on my SD card and neither does Gallery (the cooliris Nexus One app ported to Incredible). How do I get photos to show up? Arr, it's driving me nuts!
Edit: SOLVED, see below.

I fixed this using the free "Gallery Enabler" app from the Market. I definitely recommend it!

I tried that app and thought it was great too, until I couldn't find any of my music playlists.
I think it hides folders from other applications besides Photos.
If you have problems, open gallery enabler and check all folders before you un-install it.
Then the right way to fix it is to open the Photos app on the phone, clck on the menu button and select "Settings" and then "Default Albums" then select the options you want from there.
If you're wondering how this application works, it probably just deletes/adds the hidden .nomedia files from folders. Those files restrict applications from having access to the media by signaling the android media scanner to ignore them. For instance, if you put one in the root of your sd card, the system would ignore any media on your entire card.
In theory, it's a great idea.
The problem is that all of my music is organized in folders and each folder contains the album art for the album.
So blocking the folder with the album art so that it does not show up in the gallery also blocks the music file from different media applications.

Ah, you're definitely right. All my music stopped showing up. However, once I went back and enabled all the folders and applied settings in Gallery Enabler all my music showed up again and the photos were still fixed. I suppose you could use Gallery Enabler once to "force" Gallery and Photos to see all the folders.
Changing default albums in HTC's Photos app did nothing to make media show up again. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Un-installing gallery enabler brought my music back but not the playlists, I had to manually re-build all of my playlists again.

No share to Picasa option

I've a Desire running DJ DROID Froyo. I've just noticed that the share options (e.g. share to facebook, gmail etc) doesn't include Picasa. I'm sure on the stock ROM it used to - how can I put it back? Have installed the cooliris gallery3d.apk but hasn't helped.
Under settings...accounts...google I do have a tick in "sync picasa web albums" and the gallery app can view my web albums fine, but I can't upload a photo from the device to my picasa folders.
Anyone any ideas?

Gallery Sync?

I had a question about photo syncing in ICS
is it like iphone where any picture is synced to my google photos (or picasa)
or is the only way to have google plus installed and enable instant upload
i have 'sync google photos' checked in account settings
but all it seems to do is clutter my gallery with pictures it PULLS from picasa/google photo
and not the other way around (sends photos i took online)
is this true?
You can turn on auto upload in G+, and that should do what I think you're asking for.
I know you can do it with G +
My q was is Google Plus even NEEDED, or is gallery sync built in like iCloud
With my Nexus S, Gallery sync is included without Google+, but you still need PicasaWeb.
Gallery will still get "cluttered" with Picasa photos (auto-download is synced) and auto-upload isn't possible (unlike with G+), you have to manually "share" with your Picasa via the Gallery -> Share menu.
Don't know how ICS handles, I would assume similarly.

Stop Dropbox photalbums showing in Gallery

How can I do this? I want to be able to view the photos via the Dropbox app but I dont want them appearing in the Gallery
Edit: Is it to do with linking device to Dropbox? I dont remember that option being there on my S3 and never had this issue then?
Edit 2: Unlinked device.Put my details in again.Must have missed the tickbox "Upload existing photos"

Settings -> Cloud -> on DropBox synchronization -> Picture and Video off
If it's just the gallery you don't want want them to appear in, you could try putting a blank file in that folder ".nomedia" that stops any images, mp3s etc... showing up in the gallery and music app respectively.

Post 2 is correct
Dropbox images showing in Gallery is a samsung service not dropbox.
It is configured in Menu > settings > cloud

I just want to add that after doing this your photos will STILL get uploaded to your Dropbox account,

And!!!
As this is a sync service, if you delete images from the gallery (dropbox images) it will also delete them from dropbox!

What about facebook pics? How do i get rid of them from showing in the gallery. I tried gallery>view by>Contents in device, but once i exit the gallery and re enter, the facebook albums still show up.
Facebook ones are deactivated in the facebook app itself.

Where is the Google pictures or drop box in the gallery application?

I am coming from note 4 and I do not see the content from goggle pictures or dropbox folder option on the gallery. Am I missing something? I do not want to go in to other apps to see or pic my pictures for looking, sharing etc. Anyone knows how to access all picture folders from the gallery application?
I don't see an option to integrate them into the stock app. You might need to use a 3rd party app from the PlayStore. QuickPic is a great gallery app that supports cloud services.
