Boot animation - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So I love the new cm boot animation on the latest build of my kindle fire. Does anyone know how I can put it on my s3? I know how to pull it from the rom but would I need to resize it? And where would I place it on the s3? Thank to anyone that can help.

It would go in system/media I believe.
Don't know about resizing it. Back up th old one push the new one and see how it goes. Just rename it the same as the original

I believe you have to be running a custom kernel
Samsung uses some proprietary .qmg format or something like that, so you can't change boot animation on stock kernel

[BOOTANIMATION] Galaxy Nexus!

well guys time has come for us to have the *supposedly* ICS bootanimation
youll have to download the zip to your sd card and move it using rootexplorer (or anything similar) to system/media and replace the bootanimation.zip thats already there if you are in a AOSP ROM, after that just reboot and enjoy
if your AOSP ROM i dont remember the path for sense and MIUI but just copy and replace the bootanimation.zip in the right path
heres a clip of what the ICS bootanimation looks like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYRM4nCMWCk&feature=player_embedded
Looks pretty gnarly
Sent from my brilliantly modified HTC G2
Where'd you get this? Looks sweet except for the artifcats.
There's a flashable zip for it as well, id link but I'm mobile..
Not really ics per say, but the nexus prime animation anyway
Sent from my HTC Vision using xda premium

Phone & tablet versions of the Nexus Prime boot animation
I worked out almost all Phone & tablet versions of the Nexus Prime boot animation when i received the leak few weeks ago.
Have look at my post in the Android Themes section for more details & instructions.
Here is the link. Tell your suggestions...........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294970
i stil havent seen the oficial GN boot this. so i stil am in doubt if this is the real deal.
working great on my nexus S
but it's kinda boring compared to the original nexus S boot animation
I like that one
So if i wanted to modify this with my own images would it matter if i dont have the same amount of images ?
So...I'm guessing this only works for those that are rooted and have CWM on there phone?

[BOOTANIMATION] - Galaxy Nexus Intro Animation

First of all, thanks to Rockstar52 for scaling these files for the Galaxy Nexus.
This is just a variant where the text "GALAXY NEXUS" stays on the screen until boot.
The animation is the first 10 seconds of this clip, then the text "GALAXY NEXUS" is displayed until the phone finishes booting.
Tested and working good on my GNex with AOKP.
Please let me know which ROM you are using and whether it works or not.
Disclaimers: I claim no credit for the video used, and I am not responsible for anything you do to your device.
Download v.1: https://rapidshare.com/files/2533909124/bootanimation.zip
or http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28851150/bootanimation/bootanimation GNex Intro v1.zip
v.2: https://rapidshare.com/files/2110170024/bootanimation.zip
or http://dl.dropbox.com/u/28851150/bootanimation/bootanimation GNex Intro v2.zip
v.2 uses additional frames from the video. with latest AOKP and franco kernel, works flawless.
do inform me if you get lags and which ROM you are using.
How to install:
Rename downloaded file to "bootanimation.zip", if it isn't named as such
You should have root access.
Push/copy file to data/local

Very coooooool! I wish if the first animation was longer than 10 seconds. It's gonna be much nicer if it stops at exactly second 15 of the youtube clip attached. if someone can make it, please.
Thanks for the great bootanimation.

can't find local in data folder any help please?
I copied file via file expert sd card/data no local file.
also looked under phone internal storage data no local file
please help.
I'm on aokp rom build 22 4.0.3
don't worry got it working tried different file explorer "root browser".
if you can't find data/local, try creating local folder within data.
or as romgorz suggested, try putting it into system/media

will try to see if I can find a good tutorial on how to make flashable zips.
for now, you just have to copy it to data/local or system/media.
doesn't change your bootanimation by the way if you upgrade from the same ROM

[HOW TO] Replace Stock Boot Animation w/ I9300 Boot Animation

figured id throw this out there for people who arent running a custom rom/kernel that supports bootanimation.zip. i got tired of the annoying tmobile bootanimation and sound, so i grabbed the boot animation from the international version. heres what i did...
*Reminder: you have to be rooted to do this*
1. download THIS zip file and unzip
2. navigate to /system/media and replace bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg with the files from the zip
3. navigate to /system/media/video/shutdown and replace shutdown.qmg with the one from the zip
4. reboot and enjoy!
*optional*
if you want to remove the startup/shutdown sounds do this:
navigate to /system/media/audio/ui and delete these 3 files (or rename with .bak at the end of the file name): PowerOff.ogg, PowerOff.wav and PowerOn.ogg
*Option 2* flash the zip below in recovery, thanks to cybrnook!
What's the difference? I tried looking for a video of the i9300 boot animation on Google and Youtube with no results.

it a purple/blue whispy sorta looking thing that circles around the samsung logo. pretty basic, but i like it better than the stupid one tmo puts on there. tried searching myself and couldnt find a video. if youre on aosp, im pretty sure the qmg files wont work

No worries
Since I don't have an SGS3 yet I wasn't even sure what the boot up looked like myself. Honestly I'm surprised the international version doesn't have the nice Samsung Galaxy S logo with the S pulsating.
Thanks I ws tired of the T-Mobile one too
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Anyone know where I can find a GS2 scaled version of this? Ive used the pulsating S one but it lags a bit, they have updated the speed of it but its only in bootanimation.zip and I use stock kernel that doesnt support that.. and i think this one is plain and simple than the pulsating one.. or if anyone know if this could work since its not all over the screen, only center animation.. thank you.
Is there anyone that could make a boot animation zip for aosp roms?

But i was lookinq at the Slim Bean rom on youtube that was recently uploaded and it seems sooo smooth and fast with the Galaxy nexus. I believe that it can run the same or even better with our SII. But if there is a developer that is willinq to port the Slim Bean Rom to our SII's please PM me if you come across this post and i will make the possible to help qet it over to the T989 section. Well, from my personal experiments, I've ported HD2 ROMs to the s2. Many ran horribly, (being lack of kernel support) but it's almost very unlikely to brick the device by flashing things in recovery. The only way that will happen is by using the wrong flash file script. cause some scripts use different blocks of memory for the system and data partitions, hence why flashing an international s2 ROM will most likely brick our device. But if you use a zip found in the development thread, then extracting replacing and signing the new zip file won't brick the device. Heck I even put HD2 lib and hw files onto the s2. But since the partitions weren't messed up I could always get back to recovery. But I will look into the slim bean ROM. Can you link me to the YouTube video?

Its not easy, well it is if you take your time, but thats the thing, it takes forever but i'll check that out and see what i can come up with. *crosses fingers*
