whats the best custom GINGERBREAD rom available that has ice cream or jelly bean features, feel and look?
when i mean features i mostly mean the swipe noification, camera from the lockscreen and the look pretty much.
im SOOOO SICK of ICS on my xperia arc s ... 512mb is just not enough. it seems very fast when you have a fresh installation but after you install your apps and start using it it really slows down until it can barely be used.
i remember when i had gingerbread and had it supercharged it was soooooo fast ! with more free ram and no hickups.
so yea i want to go back to gingerbread.
now i have mooded ics custom rom rooted, locked bootloader and stock kernel.
thanks in advance [=
List is not so big, Jellybread, Ultimate, Arconium 8.2 are for unlocked & locked BL, for unlocked BL there is Xperia S 9.3 which IMO has the best UI, but requires unl. BL.
P.S. as you can see in my signature, I'm on stock GB (.62), rooted, supercharged and Xperia S Big Pack 3.1 installed (theme with mods).

This is how it looks to me, swipe notification is there, no camera from lockscreen, no volume button music controls, and that's what I'm planning to add (and theme it better)... but need to learn how.

Sure, flash .42 (CE - Central Europe) is the one I used.
Boot, tick unknown sources and usb debugging.
Root from flashtool (zergrush method).
Open Update Service (or Update Center, purple icon) app, refresh and update OTA to .62 (using wifi).
And there you have it, rooted .62 .

im from costa rica and my carrier is claro i have locked bootloader
and i check in service info, config and say bootloader unlock allowed and say no
because of this i cannot do the test point, but i install clockwork mod from
SE_Extreme_Tweak_Installer_1.8 my question is which rom can be safely instaled by this method i read roms whith stock kernel please someone give a list of rom can be safely installed whit this CWM THANKS A LOT
@efraincc24
You need to unlock your bootloader first before you install some Custom ROM ,only themes and tweeks can install in CWM recovery
And I believe any Arc can be unlocked with test point - my Japanese Arc was an early release one which wouldn't allow me to unlock the official SE way.
But with test point I unlocked with no trouble.

If you guys have the BOOTLOADER UNLOCK NO like I do. You need to get it UNLOCKED via the TEST POINT method.
It requires a bit of time and playing around OR follow the suggestion on contacting Jinx13. He will guide you thought the process and obviously for a small fee.
Jinx13 did mine for me and he was awesome!

I know how to do it with Omnius. I paid for a license and it costed me 15.80€, but it doesn't work with my Arc S (only Arc, I have to read before buying xD). If you want I'll tell you how to do it and I'll let you my account.
Thanks

I would download Flashtool if you didn't already have it and use it to root your phone. You can use it to flash ftf files without having to use the PC Companion and it has built in root functionality.
You can't root firmware .62 or above. Either downgrade to .58 or lower, or live without root since you're not planning on unlocking
that's also my trouble and i don't know why!!!!
i tried a lot of ways and didn't work so please help me also -_-.....

try a different ftf... for example if you tried 55 stock, try a different one.
maybe their was an error in that version of the released stock firmware.
example for ion: their are (for example)
.7
.63
.20
if im having trouble with any .7 version (which i was)
i would switch to the .63 version (which i did)
or
See if there is any app or mod you installed recently that is either incompatible or has bugs (credit to |HBHs| Acidburns)
There is nothing wrong with .55 deodex Rom..see my battery details

I can confirm I have the same problem. I am using an Xperia SL. I flashed the stock, unrooted rom for xperia S, now I cant go back to my original firmware... The problem is still present. Annoying that my phone is now showing as an xperia S...
The problem is that I cannot receive calls and my sms messages are delayed. But I can call and send SMS just fine... Starting to think its a hardware problem.
Hali.
Please post me anyone:
adb shell
parted /dev/block/mmcblk0
print
Thanx.
I am having the same issues

This is the most easy method I´ve found so far.
Just make sure to enable Install from Unknown Sources.
How to Root Motorola Razr D1 XT914:
1. Install latest version of Framaroot and launch the app
2. Select "Boromir", then restart phone.
Now the phone is rooted! congrats and enjoy using advanced options and apps like Adfree, Titanium Backup and else.
You can check if it worked by looking for Superuser in your phone's app list
and by the way, remember to allow root access only to apps you really trust.

do you know something about a razr d1 update or custom rom?

Seems like a fake; it mentions a different phone model, meaning this method would brick the XT914.
sweet
worked fabulous
Hello There,
I just rooted my Razr D1, and now of course I would like to uninstall those bloated system apks, so the phone runs faster. As a newbie, I'm not sure which apks I can safely remove. Is there a list of them that I could use as a guidance ?
Thanks for any hint.
Best Wishes

I haven't tried that, since it usually takes a lot of trial/error steps, you could instead try installing Greenify to make the phone faster, works great in mine.

Good work but despite providing a black version, what's the difference between this one and the stock app that comes in official Android 4.3 firmware?
