Hi everyone! Are there any other ringtones and/or sounds other than the ones installed in the Galaxy SIII that I can download? I don't know about you but the alarm sounds in this phone are just to subtle for me.
Thanks!

There are quite a few ringtone apps that work. I used Zedge for most of mine. It's just pull any mp3 file.
Sent from Pluto.
I use a flac file for notifications. I guess that all formats listed on developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html can be used.
For the notification to show up, I had to put the NAME.flac file in /sdcard/Notifications/NAME.flac. After a reboot it will then show up as NAME in the settings. I guess the same applies to ringtones, they could be put in /sdcard/Ringtones/.
Note that putting the file in /extSdCard/... won't work on CM9, it just don't get picked up.
Btw, this is about a GT-i9300, I do not know if the Sprint version differs much.
An easy way to get a ton of free audio stuff is through the Zedge app from the play store.

If you're rooted you can dump any sound files in system/media/audio/ringtones or notifications and they will appear in the android system list of choices. I always bring Cassiopeia and Sherbet from the SGS2 to any rom I flash.
You can also search for sound file apk for different phones in their forums..usually Zip and sideload to phone or download zip app

Hi there. I hate the preloaded alarm sounds and don't have any real desire to wake to any of my thrash metal mp3's and wondered whether anyone could point me towards an app, or a site, where I might download gentle, soothing, non-music alarm sounds?
Many thanks, in advance.

The name of the widget is sound search
Nice! Thanks!
It's not quite on par with Shazam or SoundHound yet, but definitely something Google should develop more. Also wish it would save a 'found song' list for later look up.
Wish they would just buy Shazam. lol

Yeah that would really make sense. I actually prefer soundhound because it actively sends while recording. I haven't used it for a while but I think it also stores the recording and sends it later if you don't have reception.
So I'm using es file explore do I just past the apk to the app fold and fix and same thing just past and fix r r /w

I have never used SoundHound, but Shazam does the same. On my iPod Touch, I would Shazam a song and just send it later when i was home. It is pretty great.
Using es file explore how do I fix premissions rw/r/r
OK ive been seeing a commercial for an lg phone that u can do multiple things at the same time ie: record video and text at the same time without leaving recording screen is this possible on our phone? Would it be a mod and would our device not be able to handle it?

Not happening. Its a feature the skin overlay adds. Would require porting the whole skin just like the Samsung version.
I'm confused by skin overlay what do you mean and the other party about porting.. I'm no developer but certain things can be pulled and ported to go on a phone, isn't it an apk that does it or system ui or Idk....lol

Its not Legos. You can't just pull a system app dependent on system frameworks from one device and install it to another.

No I get that but there have been many things pulled, edited and then done that way Motorola launcher with its widgets for example

You're not talking about a widget here. You're talking about system framework and things much deeper in the system. If it was that simple it would be done already.
I was also referring to the actual razor max launcher has well and had far as framework the ROM I'm on has all kind of changes in ui ... I'm going to all them if it's possible thanks though

You're not listening so I give up.

Hi. You make samsung multiwindow work for my nexus? yes!
good day.
Hi all.
I've been using the Samsung Music app on the Note 3 with 4.3 (mi7 original rom right?). I'm rooted with custom recovery (knox counter 0x1 now but it's not bugging me that much). I don't have anything else custom and thinking ti's about time to get a good rom. Before I do that I want to get my favorites play list songs from the Samsung Music app. Anyone know where the file is, the folder it's at? I'm tired of the app too since it's crashing more often but there's dozens of songs I've favorited and would hate to lose that list.. and writing down every song name manually seems tedious ...
side note 1. Have had dozens of albums I own and only like a few songs I like here and there, and the Note 3's massive space was one of the first devices I can store almost all my albums in hence the favoriting. After a years worth of time of listening to the albums I have 83 songs in the favorites playlist.
side note 2. anyone have a suggestion on a good stable rom? basically still like the s pen features minus too much of the bloat. I don't suppose aosp roms would work right?
thank you for reading my tldr question

Try HyperDrive than, as alot of the bloat is removed and you can choose in the Aroma installer what bloat you do want

I'm trying to install a custom boot animation, but the sound won't play. Followed the instructions in video below (move bootanimation.zip & bootaudio.mp3 to /system/media). Even tried changing bootaudio to ogg format and using apps to try and install but still no luck. Using stock 6.0.1 MM

I hear you, but some custom ones aren't that bad. I initially soft bricked my phone trying to install supersu and ever since I unbricked my device using an unsigned stock image from this thread, I have not been able to get boot animation sound.
I've tried looking in countless threads, tried installing zips that supposedly have sounds and changed file placement and editing with no luck. Perhaps it's the unsigned stock firmware.
I suppose power up sound is set to on?
