Swype being irritating, help - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Whenever I text or anything the word choice window goes on and off constantly for the words I type and keeps adjusting the screen. Is there a wary to keep it up constantly?(don't say Viagra..)
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

Use the beta. Go to the website and sign up.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app

I thought it won't let me if I have Swype installed? I can't delete mine, I'm not rooted and have no computer to root.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

It's annoying because when I go to hit send, there weird choice box chooses and it doesn't hit send and I move so fast I don't realize I didn't send my message, not only that but it seems like its making my texts lag big time.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

You could always turn off the word suggestion. Another option is to just root the stock rom (custom recovery[i.e. twrp/cwm], superuser) and uninstall Swype and install Swype beta. I use the beta and love it! No more bouncy screen lol
sent from my T989 full of CM awesomeness and a touch of Venom from the Darkside!!

I can't root it, no computer.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

oh well crap lol
Nothing that can be done about that other then shutting off the word suggestion...sorry. or using a different keyboard

Ahhh good news you can install it as a double, so I had Swype, now I have Swype beta too.

Yep. You don't need root and can install beta alongside regular Swype.

[Discussion] FI03 Leak

Thanks to rockypr for his idea to do this on FH23. List all the fixes, bugs, additions or whatever you want to discuss about the FI03 Leak.
I will start.
Pinch to Zoom works. The initial leak was bad.
Additions/Changes:
1. We can now choose between MTP or Mass Storage.
2. We have the Back up and reset option under settings.
3. The biggest change I noticed was the WiMax threshold seems to be at the correct values again. 4g is back to normal! "rwilco12"
Bugs/Issues:
1. The Recent Apps thing, where it isn't transparent if you have 3 or less apps in it, still exists.
2. WiFi bug still exists. "Wizard220"
Thanks....
The title say FI01 instead of FI03.

I can't wait to flash this rom. Feels good running a new rom to experience the new. Although the new isn't always apparent.

Removed. Redundant post on my part.

I will definitely not be taking this update.

Pictures are still pinch/zoom. So now im really confused on the issue..
Web is plus/minus bar..
Home UI is still pinch/zoom..
Installed Google chrome - it is pinch/zoom as well..

Standard browser still has tap to zoom. Chrome still works. Maps is broken.
Plus/minus bar isn't bad, just incremental zooming

[APP] Android 4.2 Keyboard old version

Here is a link to the android 4.2 keyboard. It has gesture typing/ swype capabilities. According to DroidLife they think it's an earlier build than what was shown off by Google the other day. It's not quite as polished but nonetheless it's pretty neat. I like the aosp keyboard layout better than the swype layout, but I love the swype capabilities so this keyboard is awesome. Give it a try.
All thanks to DroidLife for putting this up for grabs! and of course Google for developing it!
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/10/3...-with-gesture-typing-probably-an-early-build/
Thanks, it works great! Swype has some competition

I haven't tried the zip, but you should be able to do it either way. The problem mentioned on the site has to do with whether the ROM you are running has the stock android keyboard as an option. If it does you just need to clear data for the the stock keyboard and delete it from /system/app before installing the new 4.2 keyboard in /system/app.
edit:^^^What he said. For our phone just installing it like a normal 3rd party app will work.
Now here's the thing I've never done anything with apk files so can someone walk me through how exactly to do it? Would be very much appreciated.

Ignore most of that. I made it more complicated than necessary. It pertains mostly to nexus devices (might be necessary on some AOSP based ROMs). If you really want a better explanation, I was getting that info. from android police.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/1...d-4-2-keyboard-with-gesture-typing-right-now/
What Mattix said is right. Just download the apk, make sure installing 3rd party apps is allowed, and then just click on the file and then click install.

You can download it on your phone/ transfer it from your computer to wherever you want it saved. Then yes you can use a file explorer to find it, tap on it, and install it. Although, if you download it directly to your phone you can click on it from the notification bar.

[REQ] Jelly Bean Swype Apk

Does anyone have the apk for Swype that came with the stock 4.1.2 update?

I agree with above. I tried puking the Swype from system and it must have missing dependencies, because it did not work after I installed it. Swype beta (1.4 I think it's the same or better)
Cheers,

I find the beta to degrade over time and slow the phone down. It might just be a placebo effect. I'll try and look for other keyboards to use then if it's too hard to pull from the rom.

Google Keyboard

So I received the update to the stock keyboard and I do not understand how the personal dictionary works. Can someone shed some light?

I can't install this keyboard. It keeps telling me package file was not signed correctly. I tried freezing it in TB maybe I'll try uninstalling it? Any suggestions?
Edit: TB can't locate the file either. That's strange.

What update to stock keyboard? What I've seen is this ( http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...-keyboard-to-google-play-for-all-4-0-devices/ ), if this is not it, then please elaborate. I've got a personal dictionary, and it works fine..

Language and input, you see personal dictionary selection. Then tap settings next to Google keyboard and you see another selection to customize your dictionary. They do not update each other. WTH.

Download another keyboard. Using a file manager such as Root Explorer navigate to /system/app and delete or rename the keyboard apk. Then download the Google keyboard from the playstore. You could optionally push the Playstore keyboard to /system/app.
