So I received the update to the stock keyboard and I do not understand how the personal dictionary works. Can someone shed some light?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
I can't install this keyboard. It keeps telling me package file was not signed correctly. I tried freezing it in TB maybe I'll try uninstalling it? Any suggestions?
Edit: TB can't locate the file either. That's strange.

What update to stock keyboard? What I've seen is this ( http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...-keyboard-to-google-play-for-all-4-0-devices/ ), if this is not it, then please elaborate. I've got a personal dictionary, and it works fine..
a manta wrote this.
Language and input, you see personal dictionary selection. Then tap settings next to Google keyboard and you see another selection to customize your dictionary. They do not update each other. WTH.

Download another keyboard. Using a file manager such as Root Explorer navigate to /system/app and delete or rename the keyboard apk. Then download the Google keyboard from the playstore. You could optionally push the Playstore keyboard to /system/app.

Nope, just install it over the old version, this was posted on androidpolice.com as it was. I updated mine this morning.

Does anyone have the apk for Swype that came with the stock 4.1.2 update?

I agree with above. I tried puking the Swype from system and it must have missing dependencies, because it did not work after I installed it. Swype beta (1.4 I think it's the same or better)

Easiest way is to change your build prop to a NEXUS. Install the game then change your build prop back to the original I317.
Kinda like when your installing Google WALLET...

Yes yes. And your not really doing anything to your phone but switching the build prop, from one to another. With a reboot after the change. Get what you want from the PLAY STORE! Switch back, reboot done. Happy gamer now
Let me know if ya need help with it. I have a NEXUS build prop file if you need one k. You also need root explorer to do all of this. And it's mush easier with root explorer!!

What Rom you running??? You don't change any lines just switch it out with a complete different one!
Here's the NEXUS build prop you need.
http://db.tt/pc39oeGG
Your going to have to push in into the system if you know how to.
Just rename your original build.prop to
( build.propbak ), and use the one I provided. Just rename it to just build.prop!! Reboot get your games you want! After that go back into root explorer, change the NEXUS build.prop and just add the Bak on the end of it and then rename your original to
build.prop only reboot done!
Hope that helps with your problems. And I know it's a lil confusing at times.
Just my 2¢
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Xparent SkyBlue Tapatalk 2
Yes this is what I did. I pushed the galaxy nexus build.prop to /system and removed original. My problem was not backing up the original I assume. I am running cleanROM ace 4.8.0. I only asked which lines to modify because I assumed the way I did it was incorrect. I will try again!

Market Helper is a quick and easy way to spoof your device on the Play Store.
Here's a link to the thread for it. I use it to download stuff that I've previously bought but isn't supported on our device.

Ok you don't remove any build prop from your SYSTEM OK!! You leave in the original build prop, and just add Bak to the end of it. That's it!
Rename the NEXUS to just build.prop ONLY. Reboot then you can get what you like.
After that just reverse the steps you did to put back to the original build prop.
It's kinda like when trying to get GWallet to function on your PHONE!!
You can also try above post^^^^^^^
Ok I read thru that whole thread about what the above poster stated. It seems like it works but, I did read that most had problems with it. FYI

Hey Guys I wanted the S4 S-Voice App since I previously installed the version that Samsung eventually blocked, giving you a "no network connection" error. This S4 S-Voice .apk is straight from the system drawer of my friends GS4 and works flawlessly on my Note 2. I just installed over my old S-Voice but you may need to push it to your system and change permissions if that doesn't work. Enjoy!! http://db.tt/lroXNmf2

What do you push it and change permissions
Sent from my SPH-L900 using JellyBombed Tapatalk 2
Push it basically means to copy it to your system/app partition. You have to be rooted to do that. Sometimes preinstalled apps are already in your system so in order to replace the apps you have to replace the files in the same place and then give the the proper permission to run as a system app.

The directory is system/app not system/data/app and you don't always have to push it there. You should first look in system app to see if its there if it is delete it if your ROM is odexed delete that and the odex file beneath it and then reboot. Then use a file explorer to install it straight up, S-Voice doesn't have to be system it can be user only. If you continue to get a parsing error download it again. Let me know how it works out

Now we just need for someone to get it working for AOSP roms.
I have a method to install the aosp browser without any root privileges at all and no modifications of the system partition. Just involves installing 2 or 3 apks (depending if you want bookmark syncing). This should work on any of the other nexus devices that came without stock browser. This is also an improvement over the root method as it does not break OTA updates even on rooted devices.
Please don't repost this yet. I want to add in the other languages to browser.apk for the "find on page" button in the menu. I fixed English. The stock nexus roms don't have the string in framework-res for this one button.
Download zip (this is not a cwm package/just extract it or open the files from inside)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/sp3778itcps5iq1/aospbrowser-noroot-blackhand1001.zip
Steps:
1. Use es file manager to browse to system/app and install browserproviderproxy (it will say app not installed, don't worry it worked)
2. Reboot (it will not work without rebooting first)
3. Install signedBrowser_blackhand1001.apk
4. Install ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter_blackhand1001.apk (this will give you bookmark syncing)
