Whenever I used to flash roms, after initial setup my phone would go off and reinstall all of the applications that were backed up to my google account. The past 2 flashes though, it would not automatically download and install the apps. I can still see the apps in my google play store apps list, but i have to install manually, 1 by 1. Is there an option to force install all previously installed apps?

Hey,
I've switched recently from Oxygen 2.01 to CM7 RC2. I did a full wipe (factory reset/cache). Then I installed the Google Apps and had the problem that I couldn't download from the Google Market. I reflashed the Google Apps (gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip) and now I could download from market and had apps like Google Maps.
My problem now is: I can't use Google Mail. The Market says that it is already installed on my device but it's not displayed anywhere on the phone. Neither can I choose it with the ADW launcher nor can I see the app in the settings menu of Android. I already cleared my cache again and reflashed a third time the Google Apps.
Can anyone help me with this problem? Or does someone know how I get to the screen where I can choose which Apps from the Google Apps packet I'd like to install ?
reflash is your best bet
If the market is saying its installed, can you uninstall via the market. Then install it again.

Can't uninstall via Market. I will try to reflash CM7.
Ok! For installation of the CM7, I normally do is wipe, install CM7, boot for the first time, don't install gapps just yet. Enter settings and enable your wifi connection. Now boot to recovery then flash the lastest gapps zip, reboot the phone and should have the apps and screen to choose which apps to install from the market. Well! It happens for the first time you use the market app of course.
That how I do things, hope it will help your situation somehow.
Now I've got Gmail installed. But I had to download the .apk file. Couldn't install it through the market.
Thread can be closed. Thanks to everyone.
Just to let you know, the gapps zip file doesn't include any market apps. It only includes the Market (vending.apk) and the Google Account Sync setup. Everything that is Google you need to get from the market.
You could of tried to have used the web market as well to install it. But seems like you didn't fully wipe it or something messed up.
I fully wiped my device twice. Market said that it was already installed but it wasn't.
Hi ekwinoks
I had promblems with the google mail installation. I found out that the Google-Mail app is not available on the german market. So i used the Market unlocker app to download the mail app.

Hmmmm very weird indeed. Did you try the web market?
The first time I rooted and unlocked my bootloader, then flashing AOKP 4.0.3, all my apps started to be downloaded automatically and installed after signing in to my google account. I've just flashed AOKP 4.0.4 (after wiping data) this time, but my apps did not install automatically. In the Play Store app, all my previous apps did show up in the "My Apps">"All" tab, but I now have to go and install each and everyone manually. Any ideas?
Broken signature on Google backup transport.
How do you fix that? Ive had this problem in the past as well.
I'd also like to know how to repair this.
so i just ordered my gnex and had some questions about the auto app install process once the phone is first booted and my google account is logged in.
is there any way to stop the process altogether or kill the installs other than to go into the play store and start manually cancelling every app install?
i've got a bunch of apps installed on my current device that while i do want them on my gnex, many are older versions than what is current in the play store that i'd like to keep for one reason or another. i'd prefer to not have to allow all the updated apps to install and manually delete them then go back and install the older versions from my ti backups. yes i know i'll have to do that anyway but avoiding the initial auto install and manual deletion step would be ideal.
i guess my only other option would be to use the updated play store option of deleting apps from the webpage and just delete them from my current device prior to booting up/signing in to my gnex. i'm planning on wiping this device anyway so i guess that wouldn't be a huge deal, it just seems like google giving us an option to auto install or not would be best.
am i SOL on this? i've searched around and it doesn't look like i have any other choices but figured i'd ask.
I'm having problem with my T989 using maybe with the latest Google Plus update from November 1.
I have tested many roms, and in everyone it keeps doing the same. I have use AoCP, Hellybean, PsiRom, PRO-Bam, IOKP.
I flash the roms using TWRP 2.6.1.0, I rm the preload, and I format everything else, the only thing I don't format is the micro sd. Next I reboot the twrp and I install su binary. Next I wipe again the already mentioned partitions, and I install the rom and gapps(if they are requiered).
Google plus is not updated to the latest version in the latest gapps package, neither google play services, neither play store. It happens when that three apps are updated.
I enter my google account, update google plus and I sign in, by some time both play services and play store are updated. Next to that I use the phone normal, move from here to here, reboot it, search apps, etc, and in a random time the phone reboot, it keeps rebooting, and before 30 seconds of the next complete boot, it keeps doing the same time over and over again. I wipe the cache and dalvik to see if something is wrong, and it still doing the same thing.
I don't know exactly if the problem is with Google Plus, Google play services, or with the latest Play Store version 4.4.21. But it gets annoying, I have use before google plus with 4.3, and now happen this. Is like google is making something in that latest version to make they don't work in our phones, or is a bug. I don't have any more phone, I can't test if it is my device, or that official latest versions.
Searching for this problem I test other things. I always use supersu(free and paid) as root manager, so I download it, install it, next I download system app remover and sd maid(free and paid). I remove google plus and other apps that I don’t use. I reboot. Next I configure sd maid in the corpsfinder options and I remove the things that remains of google plus and use the other cleaners and I reboot again. By this time the play store and play services was updated.
I proceed downloading google plus, it install, I enter my account, and before 3 minutes, it happen the same problem all over again.
Finally I found a way to use our phones without this happening. I do all the things that I already mention, I clean my phone with sd maid, reboot, but this time I have don't install google plus, now my phone works perfect in AoCP.
Any user that happen something like this?, there is a way to fix it?, my phone is almost dying? or we just need wait for an update of google?
Thanks! (btw sorry for my bad english).
I have been very thankful for CM7.2 and my rooted Droid Incredible. Its been a great phone for me and saved me tons of money by staying a great device to use. However I recently ran into some issues that made me think I needed to do a factory reset, wipe, and reinstall CM 7.2 and google apps.
So I downloaded the CM 7.2 for droid Inc and the gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip file. I did a factory reset from within the phone privacy settings and rebooted into recovery using Rom Manager. I then wipe the data and cache and installed CM 7.2 and then the google apps. After a restart though, the google apps had not installed and I got multiple force closes. In addition, all the google accounts were still saved which I didn't expect since I had done a factory reset and wiped all the data. Even the Wifi passwords were still saved because I didn't have to enter any to access wifi. Some apps were still installed as well like Contacts +. So it seems like something didn't go right with the install.
If I installed gmail, google voice, etc from Google Play store on my phone, then I would get a Package Installer error and it would force close causing the app to not install. I could install apps to my phone using the Google Play store website on a computer. When I restarted my phone though all the newly installed apps would be gone and I would have to install them again. I made sure I was installing them to the phone and not the SD Card as well.
Other things aren't working right either. For instance the adw.launcher home button doesn't take me back to the default home screen. Pushing the button I get haptic feedback but no action for it. No setting for it under "settings" caused any change.
I did clear data on the google play store thinking that would help with the install of the apps but that didn't help either. I still get force close issues.
I am at a loss at this point and not sure what to do next.

I had same issue... But its a easy fix...boot to cwm reset wipe system and boot and cache and data and dalvik..Reinstall rom and gapps... after 1st boot wait a min or two.. open terminal type...su...then enter to get superuser then type..fix_permissions..then enter...this command will fix permissions...after thats done..type reboot...phone will reboot...you should be good to go...this only works with cm7-cm9..its done auto in cm10+ at boot..
