[Q] Google+, Play Services, or Play Store Random Reboots! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I'm having problem with my T989 using maybe with the latest Google Plus update from November 1.
I have tested many roms, and in everyone it keeps doing the same. I have use AoCP, Hellybean, PsiRom, PRO-Bam, IOKP.
I flash the roms using TWRP 2.6.1.0, I rm the preload, and I format everything else, the only thing I don't format is the micro sd. Next I reboot the twrp and I install su binary. Next I wipe again the already mentioned partitions, and I install the rom and gapps(if they are requiered).
Google plus is not updated to the latest version in the latest gapps package, neither google play services, neither play store. It happens when that three apps are updated.
I enter my google account, update google plus and I sign in, by some time both play services and play store are updated. Next to that I use the phone normal, move from here to here, reboot it, search apps, etc, and in a random time the phone reboot, it keeps rebooting, and before 30 seconds of the next complete boot, it keeps doing the same time over and over again. I wipe the cache and dalvik to see if something is wrong, and it still doing the same thing.
I don't know exactly if the problem is with Google Plus, Google play services, or with the latest Play Store version 4.4.21. But it gets annoying, I have use before google plus with 4.3, and now happen this. Is like google is making something in that latest version to make they don't work in our phones, or is a bug. I don't have any more phone, I can't test if it is my device, or that official latest versions.
Searching for this problem I test other things. I always use supersu(free and paid) as root manager, so I download it, install it, next I download system app remover and sd maid(free and paid). I remove google plus and other apps that I don’t use. I reboot. Next I configure sd maid in the corpsfinder options and I remove the things that remains of google plus and use the other cleaners and I reboot again. By this time the play store and play services was updated.
I proceed downloading google plus, it install, I enter my account, and before 3 minutes, it happen the same problem all over again.
Finally I found a way to use our phones without this happening. I do all the things that I already mention, I clean my phone with sd maid, reboot, but this time I have don't install google plus, now my phone works perfect in AoCP.
Any user that happen something like this?, there is a way to fix it?, my phone is almost dying? or we just need wait for an update of google?
Thanks! (btw sorry for my bad english).

Apps won't download from Play Store

I can no longer download apps from the google play store. I press download, it says "Downloading...", the loading bar has small lines going across it, but progress never starts, and it sits there like this. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am running Tiny CM10.1.
My problems with the play store were solved when I wiped and reinstalled from scratch. This a sudden thing, or have you made any changes lately?
Others have also reported success by going in to Apps Management and choosing "Clear Data" for the Google Play Store. (There's also a Google Play Services in the list...not sure if it's necessary to clear that, too.)
I have had this problem somewhat recurringly on this rom, it didn't work for a while, then I cleared play store, download manager, basically anything with Google in the name. Other times this fixed it, but this time it wouldn't work even after a restart. I ended up getting it to work by rebooting to recovery, wiping cache, and restarting.

I Just had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it,
- Uninstalled updates for Google Play
- I added a New Google Account.
- I Then signed into the new Google Account, Then Sign Into Your Main Account
And "BOOM" problem solved.
I never had this problem until recently and it's happened several times now. It seems to happen after a major change to my system ie rom update or multiple app updates or Tibu restore I not really sure. I tried several methods of un-installing & re-installing the play store app and wiping it's cache and data with varying degrees of success.
What has worked every time without fail is a complete cache wipe with "CacheMate for root users" app.

service process gapps problem

Last friday i open youtube and a diologue box pops out that i have to update the services process gapps ( com.google.process.gapps ) to use youtube. It automatically redirect me to the store... it seems legit so i update.
Last time when i download the previous update for the service (like 6 months ago) i did the same thing: used link2sd to integrate the update into system, reset to cwm and wipe dalvik and cache. Then i used a script to odex the system... it worked without problems, but not this time...
It keep crushing a lot. It's making me crazy.
I've tried some solutions that i find in the web, like:
- Rebot and wipe dalvik - not work
- Try to erase the google acount - it cannot be done because "some apps are related to, but you can do a factory reset". Of course i wont, i have much data.
So, do you guys have any other solution?
I was going to make a nandroid backup and then install an old gapp that comes with the ROM i use.
It is safe? Or do you recomend something else.

if you have a working nandroid backup, it should be safe, no?
i had a similar problem; i integrated an update to "google play services", didn't wipe anything or odex anything. i had some problems with the search storage (note: i do not even know if it was caused by the update integration, maybe it was due to the gapps package i used), so i tried the same thing you tried: i uninstalled that app, rebooted, and flashed the same gapps package which i originally used when i installed the custom rom. everything went to hell afterwards (force close party). i ended up wiping and re-flashing the rom and another gapps package.
i learned my lesson: do not mess with core system apps, do not integrate their updates. also, it is not possible to revert that integration should you later wish to do so, except if you did a backup before, obviously.
i am sorry if i couldn't be of more help, i primarily wanted to warn other users.
I would just uninstall Google Play Services and install it again from Play Store, this time just leave it on the /data partition or link it to SD with Link2SD.

[Q] Google Play Store Keeps Crashing on Rooted Note 4, What to do?

I have a Sprint Note 4 which is rooted and yesterday I downloaded Lucky Patcher and the Modded Google Play Store to replace my stock Google Play Store. So through Titanium, I backed up the stock Google Play Store and then I uninstalled it, since the Modded Google Play Store would not let me install it without doing that. I also cleared the cache and data on Google Play Store and now it just keeps crashing all the time. When I try to download something, it starts to download and then immediately it crashes and gives me the "Unfortunately, Play Store has stopped working" error. I get the error no matter which version of Play Store I use now, whether it is the modded or the official version. I tried clearing data/cache to Google Play Services as well, to no avail. When I try to restore my backup of Google Play Store through Titanium it stays frozen with "Restoring Google Play Store 5.1.11" and I end up having to force stop Titanium. This is so annoying! What can I do? Thanks so much in advance!!!
1) Go to Application manager/All, scroll down to where you find these three: Google Services Framework, Google Play, and Google Play Services. Force stop and delete cache and data for the first two (in order given). You won't be able to force close Google Play Services but choose Manage storage and scroll to bottom to clear all data. It's annoying that they may try to restart, just clear again and reboot quickly.
2) If that doesn't work, got a nandroid backup?
3) Re-flash current ROM, if no.
4) If stock and no backup, consider another ROM or start over with Odin stock tar.
Note: options 3 and 4 may require clean install.
Note 2: I've tried to suggest from least inconvenience to most; hopefully, the easier methods will do.
Edit: you may also see an option to uninstall update to revert to the original system application; consider that as option 2 or 3 for Google Play.

Ok I just did that now when I run Play Store it doesn't crash, instead it is says " Check your internet connection and try again" It seems as if it isn't recognizing that I actually do have a connection? I heard that if you go to the files on the phone to "etc/hosts" file and put a "#" in front of the second IP address in the hosts file that it will work but I just tried that and it didn't so I reverted the file back.
Also I tried going to settings>accounts and removing my Google accounts and re adding them but Play store still says I have no connection (which I clearly do). I made sure my date/time settings are right as well. This is happening with the modded play store and the official 5.2.12 Play Store.
YouTube randomly crashes now as well and gives me "unfortunately, YouTube has stopped " Google play store is still not recognizing that I am connected. I think I have tried just about anything besides flashing back to the stock ROM
Did you try step one again after swapping the Google Play versions? Worth a try, if you didn't.
One more thing: Lucky Patcher creates an Odex file. You should use the Lucky Patcher option to remove the Odex and restore the original. If you're ROM is deodexed, Titanium may not fix this for you. You can manually check for Odex file as well. Titanium is also useful to check for unneeded dalvik-cache files.
And one last suggestion I omitted: in recovery, delete all cache and dalvik cache and reboot.

Hmmm it is working now after hours of fumbling around with settings. Both the Modded and official newest Google Play Stores started working after I turned off "Google License Verification Emulation" and I had to turn off "Google Billing Emulation". Very stressful lol but they were the default settings and I didn't really want to mess with any of the settings as I am just starting with Lucky Patcher.

Was that Google Play version 5.2.12?
I flashed that to system yesterday and everything was working except that it didn't populate my applications and notify updates until a day later. I had to search for updates that I knew were available. Today, the apps populated and I got update notification for available updates. I think it may be part of the battery savings that lollipop is supposed to be bringing; less Google Play wakes.
Consider that your manipulation results may have been skewed by Google not immediately syncing the update.
As for my experience, I did find myself doing step one and considering flashing the nandroid but waited for applications to sync. They did finally sync this morning. The longer sync of apps may have been induced locally by the use of Xposed module "Recent Apps" which can be configured to force close apps and remove from recents, reducing wake times.

No, it is the Modded Google Play Store version 5.1.11 right now that's working but there's a newer version of it that is out. I'm getting frustrated messing with lucky Patcher (if anyone can help me with the basics of it? that i would greatly appreciate that as well. Last question I have is that in my etc/hosts file and there is a "#" before the second IP address in the etc/hosts file. Anyone know what that "#" is used for in front of the IP in the hosts file? Thanks again!!!

The # is used in scripts to comment out; meaning ignore that line in your host file.
As far as LP, there is a help link to read. Discussion threads on LP may get closed on XDA; LP may be a useful tool but leans toward piracy. Not saying this pertains to you but there was a thread that the developer participated in that xda allowed to remain open with a warning. That should be sufficient, unless closed as well.
Edit: found the thread and warning http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45933638, post 21.

I know, it can be used for illegal purposes which is NOT what I am using it for just to be clear so the post doesn't get deleted because someone thinks I am using it illegally, which I'm not.. anyways, if anyone has any tips on LP id appreciate it thanks!!

It worked for me!
No more check connection in google play store and youtube not loading
Google Store Crashing but only when rooted.
Why is it that when running stock lollipop 5.1.1 on Galaxy S6 Edge is it that Google Play Store constantly crashes when I'm rooted.
When no root it works fine and dandy.
Soon as rooted the bloody thing crashes constantly..
The only way I managed to keep rooted was to use stock google play store and prevent it from updating.
This I can cope with.. If anyone else has come across this issue and found a better way to fix it please let me know
My note 4 lollipop 5.1.1 device has rooted but fix problem in Google play when I update big file(like no system apps) apps so when it's completely update after start beginning wht can I do it

Google app crash

Hi, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I decided to update Google Play Services on my G4 (android 6, stock rom) and since then, all Google apps (gmail, google keep, google play store,...) keep crashing.
I downloaded Google Play Services 8.7.03 on apkmirror and I chose the variant 440 (arm64 + arm, android 6.0+ and nodpi)
I can't deactivate or uninstall Google Play Services and I wish there is another option than restoring the entire phone...
Try a few different versions of Play Services?
Hi, thanks for your answer.
I've called a friend who also has a G4 (android 6) and asked him what is his version of Google Play Services. He has the 8.7.03 (variant: 440), the exact version I manually installed.
I saw on forums that I could try to delete my google accounts (which I did, but Google apps are still crashing and now I have a notification telling me I have to link the phone to a gmail account, but I can because Google Play Services crashes all the time).
I also tried to reboot, clear the app's data, uninstall all updates and reinstall the right version,... but still crashing.
I'll try one last time everything I've already tried and if it doesn't work, I'm afraid I'll have to reset to factory settings...
Can you just reflash the system partition and not touch user data? I think that might work.
Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
Reflash? Do I need root for that? My phone is not rooted (but I was just wondering if there is a way to root the G4 under android 6 without touvhing the bootloader)
Update: I reset to factory settings, now I have to get everything back on the phone.
One advice: never manually install Google Play Services, I've read loads of people commenting that they had the same kind of trouble.
Even if you install the right version (the version I manually installed was the exact same than my friends')

process.acore has stopped (clearing contact storage won't work)

My fiancee has a fire phone, and she's had it for a few years. For the most of it, she's been using CM11 as her custom ROM. A few weeks ago, she mysteriously got it, and it wouldn't go away except when she disabled contact storage, but then she couldn't make phone calls. She then removed the dialer and it caused even more problems. I had to fully wipe her phone and re-flash back to Fire OS to get her dialer back. I then put CM11 back in, and everything was fine for awhile. Four days later, when Facebook updated, it did it again. We deleted Facebook, deleted the cache from contact storage, all that crap shown on Youtube, and still nothing. She opens up Chrome, it would pop up "process.acore has stopped", same with PlayStore. I wiped her phone again, then flashed her phone over to SlimKat, wiped dalvik cache, system, data, etc. It worked fine for a few days, then she opened up Cortana, and it's doing it again.
What apps have you disabled or uninstalled and/or installed since last wipe? Did you set it as a new phone after tou reinstalled cm11 or slimkat?
Try safeboot by clicking power button, then click reboot. Hold both volume up and down button while it fully reboots. You will see safeboot logo on screen. See if you get same error in safeboot. If not, then a change you are doing after fresh install is messing up your phone. Do a fresh install, then restore/install/uninstall one app at a time to see which app is responsible.
Every time I factory reset the phone, it's fine for awhile until some random app causes it again. The cause is different every time. At first, Facebook was the cause, then adding another Gmail account, then Reddit. We'll try your advice then get back to you.
If it is fine for a while, it is probably being triggered by some system app such as Google play services updating itself. I would suggest disable auto updates in play store and disable Amazon store if you haven't already. When phone prompts you that app updates are available, update one app at a time, (if have titanium backup and rooted, can backup the app before you update it). Once you find the culprit, open it in play store and disable auto update by un-checking the option by clicking three dots on top right. I had to do that for google play services because it was causing similar issues. Your issue may be related to contacts as well as calendar (clear calendar data but do not disable default calendar app from amazon)or one of the related background processes that is automatically updated but the updated version becomes incompatible with kit Kat causing all apps that depend on it to force close.
Check if your Google play services is newer than 10.0.84 version at the time acore error starts happening. If it is newer version then go to apk mirror website and download 10.0.84 version, uninstall the newer one and install this older one. Please do update if anything you did fixed the problem. Thanks.
