I read a guide for porting JoyOS over using a CM7 base, but our phone doesn't have CM7. Anyone have any ideas of doing this? I would like to say I could try and learn/work on it myself but I know I'll never get it lol.

Don't think so, since CM7 was gingerbread, and our phones came with ICS.
You could try porting it with a cm9 or a cm10 base.
but you will most likely run into problems.

I'm not sure if this is where I need to ask this or if its been answered but can you guys tell me what the deal is with the nightly builds I see on Cyanogen's wiki for Epic 4g. I tried putting the latest one on my sd card and when I went to flash it it aborted and didn't do anything else. Am I doing this right?
There's no nightlies yet for our phone.

no...developers need GB sources
No. We do not. Other phones have it and they don't have source, but for some awkward reason WE need it...

Other phones use a lot more generic hardware compared to the Epic
this should shed more light..

Sorry for the stupid question. I noticed after I asked, that what I was looking at was nightly builds for the i9000. Not the same thing. I sure hope they get something going with this rom cause i tried out the alpha and I loved it, except for the obvious things not working. I guess I'll be trying out the ViperROM (SynErgY) for a while. BTW also a great rom so far.
does anyone know if their is going to be an IceCreamSandwich update for the dinc2 non rooted just a regular ol update. also do you know when if so.
I don't mean to be rude, but I actually can't understand what you wrote. :/
is their going to be and ics (ice cream sandwich) update for the droid incredible 2 without having to root and flash device.
Yes there will be an update from Verizon/Htc to Ics/Sense 3.6 (I assume it will be 3.6) sometime in the future. No root required. When, hopefully before the new year.
This ^^
Thanks for clarifying.
alright thanks but until then what would you recommend for the most stable ics rom?
AOKP build 32 with my Cam/Camcorder patch (within the last couple pages in general), aero's v9 kernel (rootzwiki cm9 unofficial thread), AGPS patch (somewhere in our dev section) and don't forget to flash the 3/17 gapps!
alright well im good with this stuff but not that good, i guess i would still be considered a noob :/
Google gave me a gift

Are you trying to flash to touchwiz ics or cm9/aokp?
For cm9/aokp you will just need to flash this file to fix mms:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?d0z87wofq3b3p2i
To get everthing working with touchwiz I would just read through this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332105

Hey Benz. I would suggest to stay away from CM9 for now. Alil too involved for your skills for now. Stick with TW touch wiz roms for now. What Brooksyx linked ya is solid.
does anyone knows if miui v4 is comming to our One V?

Can someone explain in fair ease how to port MIUI v5 or V6 onto a AOSP Based ROM, like ShinyROM/CM11/OmniROM? Preferably in a GITHub format so Updates to MIUI and these bases update the whole package? Been fiddling with porting it and had no success and the official MIUI porting team instructions seem to not apply/im not grasping it as much as I should
Thanks in advance!
Bump?
Would be great to have a port of Miui 4.4, but seems that a people are not interested. A my friend tried to port but without success. I think that this is possible, but need help.
please port it if someone ever helps you. would be much appreciated!

I tried that first to be honest, but not from the guide directly, just guessing what might work, i know MIUI has init.d things that seperate it from AOSP
PS: Are you the same guy i saw over on MIUI forum?? (I'm XeoShion there)
