Hi
After attempting to install Xperia Ice Bean on my Xperia LT15i awhile ago then reboot the phone, I am now astuck on SONY Logo. Itried giving n 10 minutes to wait for the tools to be installed however, I still got this SONY logo. I performed full reboot by removing the battery and still getting the same.
Now, I'm trying to revive my phone by installing the stock ROM of ICS 4.0.4.
Can somebody help me on this. I'm so nervous already that I might not be able to revive my phone.
Please I need your help guys ASAP.
BTW I'm using LT15i running on Rooted ICS 4.0.4 with the updated Busybox installed.
Managed to install CWM.
Here's what happened.
I have to tell it honestly. I didn't follow the instructions on how to correctly install the ROM. I just mount the sdcard and install the zip without even wiping the data and doing factory reset. I know its wrong but I still did it.
Can somebody assist me on this.
Thanks, I can donate some of my cash to your build if I revive my phone back.
Assuming you can get into flash mode, just reflash stock Rom available in the general arc section, use flashtools for this.
After you get stock back you are at the point of decision, do you stick with current set up or try custom roms, remember custom roms sometimes need custom kernels as well so you will need unlocked bootloader to send them via fastboot.
I have found some custom roms don't work I too get blank screens etc, but have installed the pureness build and it runs well

But what should I do now?? My phone is stuck!
If you haven't wiped userdata then use a kernel for the Rom you're on if it's not cm7/9, eg doomkernel. Your original Rom should boot.
sinkster©
just flash back to any of SE FW using flash tool for now.
and redo all the custom later.

The stock se rom is not compatible with fxp kernel.. you need to install the correct fxp rom to make it work..
Or flash any kernel compatible with stock rom..
Don't forget to hit 'THANKS' if I helped..

If I am correct the big pack 3.1 Is not for ics, it is only for gb.
To install cwm you need root.

Root for 4.0.4 Xperia Arc/ Arc S was out a while ago. One must downgrade the kernel, root and then upgrade it.
try to put your drive into flashmode and flash back to a stock rom/kernel and try install the big pack on an GB rom!
First of all, go to this forum and download the LT15i 4.0.4 update for your phone. I suggest Generic Global World.
Flash it using the latest version of Flashtool (v0.8.6.0). Check the No Final Verification box. Welcome to the correct build of ICS for your phone. LOL!
Now you've already downloaded the LT18's 4.0.3 ftf previously. Using Flashtool, just flash the kernel alone of the 4.0.3 build. Make sure you exclude everything else. The 4.0.3 kernel is rootable using the zergrush exploit.
Once that's done, flash back the 4.0.4 kernel. Again making sure to exclude everything else other than the kernel.
And there you go, you have a rooted 4.0.4. After this, go download pvyParts' Xperia CWM Auto-Installer from the market.
That should solve your problem. You should have no issues with CWM after that. (Maybe except a slight offline charging issue. )

Sorry, my bad. I misquoted. I meant to say use DooMLorD's Rooting Toolkit for ICS.
EDIT: I take that back. The Rooting Toolkit DOES use the zergrush exploit.

Hey there!
I am from germany, watched a bunch of tutorials on how to root & install custom roms.
Today i decided to download Cyanogen Mod 9.1 on my Xperia Arc S ( Lt18i) android 4.0.4
I rooted the phone, checked it with an application that tells you if its rooted or not.
I flashed the Kernel, launched CWM and started installing Cyanogen Mod. I still believe it got stuck on "Installing update..." after about 5 minutes so i pulled out the battery.
When i try to switch on my phone now, it only shows the "Sony" Logo like forever, i can not to anything. Please please help me!
Flashing the Kernel back with Flashtools, pretty much the only thing i can do doesnt work
Thank you in advance, greetings Donlu

But what is that? :S The ftf from cyanogen mod? How can i get Cyanogen mod to work now? :S
The stock .ftf file. It restores the original firmware to your phone. Then restart flashing process again. I believe it's somewhere in the general or development section
Hi, if you want to install cyanogenmod you must flash kernel which included in zip file.
Check again in zip file, than flash that. (named boot.img)
If sony logo still appear you fail flashing kernel

Hello XDA Community,
im stuck with my Problem so far and after reading trough several Threads and excesiv use of google I decidet to make a new Thread. I flashed the Xperia Ultimate HD ROM on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and forgot to wipe the Dalvik Cache before as well I did not uncheck the mark at "Reboot your Mobile" in the Aroma Installer.
Now I got a Bootloop, and cannot access CWM and I tried 3 times to flash over Flashtool and it didn't help at all.
This is behind my understanding of the material, so I would be really happy if someone could help me.
Ps. I also have no Unlocked Bootloader
Did flashing stock ics work? Using flashtool? Personally i tried 6 ROMS including Xperia Ultimate HD...

Hi Guys,
I tried unlocking my Xperia Arc S bootloader but it shows an error of " remote phone is already unlocked! "
I used the SE tool as well as the CMD version to unlock it.
I tried installing the Fusion 5.5 kernel and it got hanged on bootscreen.
Later I flashed my phone with a .587 ICS FTF and everything went good again.
I again tried unlocking and same problem. I tried installing Lupus Kernel but it shows Fusion logo and phone hangs on Fusion logo
Cant find out what to do.. Any idea ?

Tho, Does it means that my phones bootloader is unlocked?
If you can flash any custom kernel it means your bootloader is unlocked.
You flashed Fusion and Lupus so your bootloader is definitely unlocked.

I dont think my phones bootloader is unlocked!
Is there any way by which I can Lock my Bootloader and Again Try to Unlock it ?
or any way I can be assured that its really unlocked ?
I've updated my phone to .587 using PC Companion!
PS: Thanks for responding. Your response means a lot to me
If kernel installation was successful, then your bootloader is unlocked for sure.
By the way, after installing the kernel, you have to install the ROM as well, which you wish to use. Make sure you use ICS kernel with ICS ROM and JB kernel with JB ROM.
As for the logo...are you sure, that you flashed the kernel, and not just booted it? If you can, post how did you install the kernel and post installation log as well.

If you are installing ICS Roms (UHD, Xperia T, Viper or Jelly Dream), the kernels that are compatible with that are:
KTG kernel
Rush kernel
Vengeance kernel
Lupus ICS kernel
Advanced Stock kernel
Or you could just go with the plain stock kernel.
Read the first few posts in the thread of the ROM that you would like to try, the devs will say which kernels are usable.
There's also FAQs included for those experiencing bootloops.
