I bought an 2000 mah extended battery 5 month ago on ebay from simshop. First 3 month, 5h+ screen on time, 22h battery life and more. Now, 45min to 1:30 screen on time, 5h battery life, all on wifi and my phone closee by itself at 8%. My 1750mah battery can give me a better performance. WTH Samsung ?
Please, dont blame my rom or kernel because im stock 4.1.1 with no facebook-twitter app now.
you gave us no screenshot of the battery stats.
Because i have no screenshots. My screen on time is between 45 min to 1:30. Never more.

i strongly suggest you give us some screenshots or we cant even begin to figure out what is draining the battery. you might just have a bad battery, but we'll never know.
Maybe a defective battery.
I have the 2100mAh for the LTE Nexus and my battery is awesome.

Well, if it's a 3rd party battery from eBay, it really wouldn't surprise me. But please, screenshots and a pic of said battery would be nice.
Well I don't think its a third party as simshop carries the official 2000mah battery for GSM G Nexus straight from Korea. It might be a bad battery as I have read countless of ppl buying from that store.
I am going to be purchasing one from there too soon. Hopefully its just a case of a defective battery.
Does anyone else know where they sell this battery?
But yea screenshots...

Those and most extended batteries suggest up to 5 charging cycles before you see better results. Give it some time.
Yeah just wait and let it settle for a week...it's too early to assess results on first full charge..

I'm looking for a Galaxy Nexus extended battery in the 2000-3000mah category. I don't want the Uber-thick 3800mah Seido but I don't want the extra 100-200mah for the Samsung extended (doesn't seem worth it even with a half-priced battery), I'm kind of looking for something in between (like a sweet spot) maybe in the range of 2500-3000 would be ideal. I'm sure there will need to be a separate case for it.
Any suggestions?
Chicks dig the uber thick ones

I wish there was a 2500 option for the gnex too. I'm cutting it close at the end of the day and it would be awesome if I didn't have to worry about conserving enough for an emergency.
I purchased 2 2500mA batteries from Hong Kong. There is no NFC. Also, the batteries work with the original back cover!! I should receive them by the end of the week hopefully. I am currently using a 3800 extended battery and the battery life is unbelievably great. I am hopeful that the 2500 will get me through a day of heavy use. I bought them off eBay from "weil368".

Just curious, do you have the LTE Verizon Nexus or the GSM version?
I have the GSM Nexus. The first day was OK. Definitely better than the original battery but no where near as good as the 3800mAh behemoth. I was able to make it through a day of light to moderate use. Hopefully after a few cycles they will get better.

How much screen on time was that? I switched to teerom and have gone from 6 hours of battery life up to 15 or so with stock battery. I think it may be the apex launcher.

It was 2:50 of screen time. For whatever reason I cannot upload the screen shot of the screen usage.

Guys ... please don't be fooled by high amperage in the same OEM body volume adverts.
There is NO 2500mAh in the world that will fit in the original 1750mAh volume. That technology is not yet accessible.
I'm 120% positive (and I can bet on this) that those "2500mAh" batteries have the same stored power (if not less) than the OEM 1750mAh ones.
If you get lucky, you may end up having initially a battery slightly stronger than the oem one which will deprecate in a matter of weeks and it will end up a lot weaker than the OEM.
I've been wondering about something for a while. Is there a technical reason why Li-Ion batteries must be in rectangular shape? Looking at the ginormous back for the Seido/Mugen 3500+ mAh extended batteries, I can't help thinking about all that wasted space above the SIM and up to the camera that could be "filled in" by an irregularly shaped battery.
The battery is made out of a long ribbon-like sandwich of electrolyte between two thin metallic foils (electrodes) and the whole structure is rolled or packed. It would be way too expensive to make it in custom shapes. So , the Li-Ion batteries can be built like cylinders or rectangular shapes.
I know there was a was to find the true mah of the battery on my nexus one. I was wondering how to fond the mah for the new extended battery I got from eBay. Its supposed to be 3800 mah, but I wanna be sure. I be been on it pretty hard today from a full charge. Its held up pretty good and I've been on it pretty hard. If anyone knows how to check let me know. I'll also leave the link from where I got the battery from only 15 bucks
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
There is no way to get mAh value due to the fuel gauge samsung used. The n1 used the ds2784 which outputted that info. Our max17040 does not. Nothing we can do.
it is possible but you need a battery analyzer. Chances are the 3800mah you got is closer to 2800mah. check out this site that tested lots of batteries from ebay and some aftetmarket companies. http://batteryboss.org/

Like I said anything is better then stock. The stock battery was horrible! The last phone before I got this was my bionic and with the OEM extended 2750 mAh I got 2 days. Wasn't expecting anything spectacular with this 3800 mAh, But again for me anything is better then stock. Almost got rid of the phone based on the stock battery. For 15 bucks I'll take it and keep this phone a little longer. Oh and I had the screen at 100% the whole time.

You should post your screen on time.
15hrs of battery is easily achievable this days with stock battery and correct rom + kernel combo
I even saw one guy manage to get 4hrs screen time on stock battery

I had 4 hours 30 on stock battery (GSM) for some time.
That was with an older AOKP and Franco build (AOKP something in mid 20s, Franco in mid 90s)
Right now I get between 3 hours 30 and 4 hours, depending on the use and where I am (Auto-Brightness).
Mostly E-Mails, texting, Play Store and Browser, with an occasional youtube video inbetween.
Running AOKP B29 and Franco r112
your problem is not the battery, sounds like your phone has a problem going to sleep or you have too many things syncing. with the stock battery i can get over 20 hours of idle and 3 hours of screen time. with the samsung extended battery i can get over 24 hours of idle and 4 hours screen time.
Debating returning it I only get about 12 hours with my 3800 mah extended battery but its about 2.5-3 hours screen time so maybe its actually good idk

Over all wifi. I may take a day off of wifi and do my 3g stats. But there is somethimg wrong with your phone. Or your battery is junk. Did you buy a generic off of eBay? If so its a dud this is on the stock battery.

Hi,
I have Verizon GNex running stock JB and i like it that way.
Currently i have the original 1850mah and 2100mah battery, i've just purchased a $5 external batt charger on ebay to charge the extra battery and it's working so far.
What do most ppl. recommend/use to get through the day on GNex.
What's better among the hyperion or mugen or sieodo or should i go for external battery like Anker??
Thanks
im using hyperion 3500 and its definitely doing its job to me. ive had it for a month now

Do u have any numbers like how long it last compared to stock or 2100mah battery.
Also where did you buy it from? Hyperion 3800mah with NFC has decent reviews on amazon but only cost $20.
Do Let me know.
Thanks.

I just bought the Hyperion and cannot believe how well it works. I have been trying to cycle the battery all the way down and it has been hard to kill it in a normal day! With NFC and 3800mAh it is a great deal. I finally found a battery that will let me get through a busy day without charging.

I can get a whole day if texting chicks all day, using social network sites excluding Facebook. Make a call or three, little video gaming and some web surfing. And its incredible for WiFi tethering too.

Mugen is pretty good except finding a case which has been a pain, don't think its worth $90 I paid so try a similar one but for less $ and that has lets u use a case
Yes mugen is expensive for $90.
About the case I will try to be careful with the phone but having a case on an extended battery will only make the phone more thicker...no??
Where did u guys buy your Hyperion from?? Amazon or some other website??
Pls. Let me know thanks

Do you happen to know if it is compatible with the GT-I9250 model? And one more thing that I know it could be too much to ask,but could you please upload some pics so that we can see how much thicker it is?
Thanks a lot.
Hi,
Would be interested to know if it will fit the GT-I9250 aswell, been looking for a 3800 with NFC, darned if I can find 1 in the UK, presume these are Verizon only?
Are there ANY with NFC other than the 2000Mah for the GT-I9250 ?
The battery for international version and US Verizon i515 are different. So look for the one compatible for your phone

+1 for Hyperion 3800 mAh from Amazon. I have been having a hard time trying to kill it (battery to 0% and auto-shutoff) during break-in cycles. This thing just last a long time. Now is Sunday night and my battery is running at 4% after the last time I charged (Friday night). The Battery detail says I've had almost 6 hours of screen time (auto brightness) on it already.
