Battery for Galaxy Nexus - 2000-3000 mah - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm looking for a Galaxy Nexus extended battery in the 2000-3000mah category. I don't want the Uber-thick 3800mah Seido but I don't want the extra 100-200mah for the Samsung extended (doesn't seem worth it even with a half-priced battery), I'm kind of looking for something in between (like a sweet spot) maybe in the range of 2500-3000 would be ideal. I'm sure there will need to be a separate case for it.
Any suggestions?

Chicks dig the uber thick ones

I wish there was a 2500 option for the gnex too. I'm cutting it close at the end of the day and it would be awesome if I didn't have to worry about conserving enough for an emergency.

I purchased 2 2500mA batteries from Hong Kong. There is no NFC. Also, the batteries work with the original back cover!! I should receive them by the end of the week hopefully. I am currently using a 3800 extended battery and the battery life is unbelievably great. I am hopeful that the 2500 will get me through a day of heavy use. I bought them off eBay from "weil368".

Which Galaxy Nexus are you running? Verizon Usere here.

Will update once I receive and put to use!

I received my 2 2500mAh batteries today. I just started using them. Will report back on how they last.

Just curious, do you have the LTE Verizon Nexus or the GSM version?

I have the GSM Nexus. The first day was OK. Definitely better than the original battery but no where near as good as the 3800mAh behemoth. I was able to make it through a day of light to moderate use. Hopefully after a few cycles they will get better.

How much screen on time was that? I switched to teerom and have gone from 6 hours of battery life up to 15 or so with stock battery. I think it may be the apex launcher.

It was 2:50 of screen time. For whatever reason I cannot upload the screen shot of the screen usage.

Guys ... please don't be fooled by high amperage in the same OEM body volume adverts.
There is NO 2500mAh in the world that will fit in the original 1750mAh volume. That technology is not yet accessible.
I'm 120% positive (and I can bet on this) that those "2500mAh" batteries have the same stored power (if not less) than the OEM 1750mAh ones.
If you get lucky, you may end up having initially a battery slightly stronger than the oem one which will deprecate in a matter of weeks and it will end up a lot weaker than the OEM.

I've been wondering about something for a while. Is there a technical reason why Li-Ion batteries must be in rectangular shape? Looking at the ginormous back for the Seido/Mugen 3500+ mAh extended batteries, I can't help thinking about all that wasted space above the SIM and up to the camera that could be "filled in" by an irregularly shaped battery.

The battery is made out of a long ribbon-like sandwich of electrolyte between two thin metallic foils (electrodes) and the whole structure is rolled or packed. It would be way too expensive to make it in custom shapes. So , the Li-Ion batteries can be built like cylinders or rectangular shapes.

Find the true mah

I know there was a was to find the true mah of the battery on my nexus one. I was wondering how to fond the mah for the new extended battery I got from eBay. Its supposed to be 3800 mah, but I wanna be sure. I be been on it pretty hard today from a full charge. Its held up pretty good and I've been on it pretty hard. If anyone knows how to check let me know. I'll also leave the link from where I got the battery from only 15 bucks

There is no way to get mAh value due to the fuel gauge samsung used. The n1 used the ds2784 which outputted that info. Our max17040 does not. Nothing we can do.
it is possible but you need a battery analyzer. Chances are the 3800mah you got is closer to 2800mah. check out this site that tested lots of batteries from ebay and some aftetmarket companies. http://batteryboss.org/

Like I said anything is better then stock. The stock battery was horrible! The last phone before I got this was my bionic and with the OEM extended 2750 mAh I got 2 days. Wasn't expecting anything spectacular with this 3800 mAh, But again for me anything is better then stock. Almost got rid of the phone based on the stock battery. For 15 bucks I'll take it and keep this phone a little longer. Oh and I had the screen at 100% the whole time.

You should post your screen on time.
15hrs of battery is easily achievable this days with stock battery and correct rom + kernel combo
I even saw one guy manage to get 4hrs screen time on stock battery

I had 4 hours 30 on stock battery (GSM) for some time.
That was with an older AOKP and Franco build (AOKP something in mid 20s, Franco in mid 90s)
Right now I get between 3 hours 30 and 4 hours, depending on the use and where I am (Auto-Brightness).
Mostly E-Mails, texting, Play Store and Browser, with an occasional youtube video inbetween.
Running AOKP B29 and Franco r112
your problem is not the battery, sounds like your phone has a problem going to sleep or you have too many things syncing. with the stock battery i can get over 20 hours of idle and 3 hours of screen time. with the samsung extended battery i can get over 24 hours of idle and 4 hours screen time.

Battery app .

Is there a app that can tell me how many mah the battery is ???

No. The fuel gauge in the nexus doesn't support that.
let it be.

If you bought from a reputable dealer and it has an official back cover I'm sure its the proper capacity.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus i9250
It looks real. You're not going to get a whole lot more than stock 1750mah. It is only 14%? More battery. But you will notice how much better the gnex feels in your hand. And a tpu case will fit great if you want protection.
let it be.

Extended battery...

Just got a sprint galaxy nexus and wanted to get a extended battery was thinking of getting the seidio 3800 but is the OEM 2100 sufficient too?

I'd say 3800. 2100 isn't enough if you need to use it for a whole day without charging it.

Sounds awesome. Does it say somewhere that it's similar in size to the stock battery? I didn't see that in the description, but I can't imagine that to be possible.

Has anybody actually tested the batteries to determine their true capacity? I'm highly skeptical of the listed capacity.

Extended batteries are nice, but they add a lot of bulk to your phone. I switched to my stock battery because having a phone that doesn't feel like a heavy brick is so much nicer.

If only it was possible to get that kind of battery life without turning the phone into a humpback whale.
Just to let you know,
the chinese makers of many batteries like to lie about the MaH ratings - it's easy to tell if you weigh them. Also I've seen them set it up so that power depletes slowly for the first 100-60% and then rapidily drop within seconds when the power is running out.
I recommend looking at reviews from phones in general and find a maker that isn't a scammer - one that takes pride in their name and quality. There are plenty now and they're about the same price if you buy direct from china. I thought a few times about selling them but then I relised that people are too dumb and just look at the price so I couldn't be bothered. There are some countries where it's not even possible to buy a decent replacement battery - Latin America and Spain for example.

Exactly. These make it hard to put the phone in your pocket.
IMHO I'd rather carry around a spare Samsung Extended battery with me and just swap it in. Saves a lot of money. I got mine on Amazon for like $10. Plus I can use any case with it.
