Just wondering if other people are experiencing this issue on their phones as well. volume is really low on cm10 alpha 4. had to have my car stereo cranked as high as it would go to listen to TWiT and still couldnt hear it on the higway.
Is thisa known issue or something that can be corrected in the next update or so? I understand it`s and alpha release.

Most of the aosp ROMs I've used have had somewhat lower volume than tw based ones... just grab something like volume + from the market, its worked well for me thus far, there's a bunch of apps that'll let you boost your volume

Thanks. Just seemed weird when cm9 is perfect and could not hear music on full blast running cm10.
Definitely is an issue with that rom and not just aosp roms.
Anyone else noticing this?

the newest version seems to be working great in regards to volume

has anyone else noticed that the sound being output thru the audio jack on cm7 and miui is not as loud or clear as when using a touchwiz Rom? I have and I'm wondering if there is anyway of fixing or improving audio output. I don't want to carry around a ipod anymore lol any and all help appreciated

I think the volume increments are pretty broken. I've been using CM7 and I use my phone in the gym. It's been pretty irritating

i'm on the same boat +1
I wonder if the audio can be modified to be better I heard of some mod it was like voodoo something I wonder if that can be ported to out phone

Anyone notice from completely stock 2.3.7 to any 4.0.3 ive tried several versions currently on fb27 but the external speaker for ringers or notifications is much quieter any solutions? Or anyone else experiencing it?

This is a well known issue and documented in all the ICS roms.
Ahh my bad so i assume sooner or later itll get fixed
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
It's definitely on the MUST DO list along with the GPS, random vibrations, exchange sync, wifi and a few other things. But considering the steady and overall complete feel of the leaks I think we are right on the verge of an official update.
I thought fb27 was official

Whenever I pair my gs3 to a Bluetooth device and play music, I get bad crackling sounds. Is this cm10 problem or hardware problem?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
I have the same issue on OTA non root JB. Motorola headsets S10-HD and S305 both have the same problem for me. This is very discouraging as they worked great with CM 9.1 on my last phone (G2)
Was hoping to find out that CM 10 was better.
Change your govenor to performance. It helps. And for CM10 I used faux kernel and got the least crackling. Or set a profile with set cpu like I did when using your favorite music player.

CM10. CM10 did not have BT support until recently, and its buggy at best.
Run stock and all your devices' features will work.
It might have to do with the bt bass bug. It was fine on earlier nightlies, but it started happening about 2-3 weeks ago. You can test by playing music, then call someone real quick and hang up. Your music should resume with full range of sound frequencies.

Has anyone else noticed this? I've tried LiquidSmooth RC8, the latests Paranoid Android, and the newest SlimROM. They all must be based off the same ROM, because audio quality is equally horrendous. I notice that in the Settings > Sound that there is an option to select between MusicFX and DSPManager. However, none of these applications seem to have any affect over the audio, whatsoever. I am surprised that the BASE audio wouldn't be the same as every other ROM. Shouldn't these EQ/DSP add-ons just allow you to modify the stock flat-EQ? Most people would probably want a flat EQ anyways, because their audio ends up on the car stereo, or some other device that already has these controls.
With that said, are you guys noticing the same thing? I absolutely cannot get Pandora or Spotify (haven't tried any others because I don't care,) on these new ROMs. I hope this isn't what the latest CM10 offers, because I am about to flash to that now.
Oh man, I just loaded up the latest CM10 stable and it has the same problem... At least DSPManager can modify the EQ for the entire system, not app-specific. Even still, it sounds nowhere near as good as it did before. While I'm flashing my phone I am playing feeding the same Beacon "The Phoenix" audio cube on my desk with my Transformer TF300T and it is shaking the whole surface with bass, and sounds very full. I played with all the EQ settings, and went manual and got nothing remotely close using my S3 with these ROMs.
Just restored my CM10 11/7/2012 nightly and it has flawless audio over bluetooth--but other issues like missed calls, etc
You silly op you.that's backwards dspmgr is simply part of the general aosp experience and all aosp roms recently developed that bug

I dug through quite a view AOSP-based ROM threads and could not find anything. I don't understand how anyone could possibly use these ROMs with that horrifying bug?
Freeze or uninstall DSPmanager then install a new audio engine (I use team AC!D's), problem solved.
EDIT: I've never had that happen before but I always freeze that app and I've been using AC!D audio mod since the beta for this phone.

Hate to say it but it's unrelated and all over the cm10 thread

I just bought power amp and all of my songs are extremely low quality. This doesn't seem to be a problem on aokp for my cousins s2. Wonder if its an s3 only deal.

Its terrible...I cant even use any of these ROMS because of this!
I don't have issues over wire, but Bluetooth is borked in aosp. Due to the transition to 4.2 don't expect quick fixes so.... I moved to a tw rom mainly because of bt and ril related battery drain.......

Is this supposed to be a 'feature?' If so? They should remove DSPManager and let us decide. I would always prefer some flat EQ so that I can process it elsewhere.
I have 2 sg3's one Jelly Bombed and one CM10 based. Side by side TW BT sounds better. 1 fix for CM10 is after starting BT audio go to your phone and make a call (I just dial 123) then hang up as soon as it connects. Viola, bass is back and audio is tolerable... hope this helps you out

Is anybody else noticing a drop in in-call volume since the 4.1.2 update? I have DSP manager installed on my OG from before the update and still call volume is ridiculously low. Any suggestions? Maybe uninstall and reinstall DSP manager first?
I've noticed the same thing and I've found no way to make it louder.

I took DSP Manager off my phone and went back to the stock sound setup. I'll let you know if it worked to cure the call volume problem. May be something we have to report to LG.
I'm experiencing the same thing. More times than not I am unable to hear the caller on the other end well enough to hold a conversation.

So I took DSP manager off and no dice. I'm wondering if I might HAVE to root it and put on a new ROM and maybe put Awesome Beats on the phone in order to get the results I want.
I think this is something that can be modified with the kernel. I remember on the galaxy nexus there were a few Franco nightlies he was testing that had in call volume issues. Some were too low some were crackely. If he was able to modify something within his kernel to effect call volume then I'm sure it can be tweaked to a higher volume.
