Need some help. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Guys,
I am needing to revert my GN back to my original backup after rooting.
Will this be fine since I am now running JB?
Also, if I want to stay on the stock ROM are there any ICS kernels that can be flashed over the stock ROM?
Now for the biggest answer. Why? My phone is acting crazy at times. Opening the browser menu when browsing by itself. Screen presses are not responding from time to time. Mainly want to have a VZW tech look it over just in case.

My GN every time I boot says, Android is Upgrading, start applications, what do this means???

This is normal. Your phone is not updating its building app cache or something.
Search is your friend.
Question is though... Why is it always rebuilding?
Is it still completely stock from Day 1 of purchase?
Have you rooted it? If so, what method?
Have you installed any apps?
Have you tried doing a factory reset? (Ensure you back up your data)
The phone is purelly stock
I havent done nothing except using it and installing apps...the regular as an every day phone...i got since sunday
Should I factory reset?
Thanks

mine does it to. its normal
I can tell you its not normal for it to happen on every single boot! It's probably an app that is causing issues with the os. Try and remember what you recently installed and uninstall a couple apps to try and narrow it down. This happened to me when I installed Wallet.
mine has done it since i powered it on out of the box the very 1st time. so i'd say its normal
I wonder why its doing it then? If on my device it only does it when system files are being played with but on others on every boot?
Happens for me too, only noticed it since upgrading to 4.01 (stock)

Strange problem HELP

Been running Bombaridier ROM for a long time Android Version 2.3.5.
I noticed every time i shut the phone off and turn it on it will "Search" for signal/radio for nearly 4minutes.
It just started doing this, no new apps have been installed.
Anyway to fix this issue?

May I ask what radio are you using? Maybe a factory reset can help. (make sure to backup your apps with titanium backup or others)
May I ask why in the world you are running that rom?? I mean not just because its gb, but there are way better gb roms than that

He's probably not a flashaholic like the rest of us and probably like what he saw back then and it sufficed his needs.

[Q] Verizon GNex Jellybean problems.

First off, I'm running the latest update from Verizon. 4.1.1. I received the update OTA. I am rooted and bootloader is unlocked.
Second, my problem so far is that I have noticed after I updated to JB my phone will randomly lock up when the screen goes to sleep while accessing Google search via the search bar and browsing results. A battery pull is required to get the Gnex up and running along with a long boot up time similar to that when first updating.
Is anyone else experiencing this or any other problems? Anyone have any fixes?
I'm running the leak and I've never experienced this issue, Surprised it's happening on the OTA stock

Me too, especially since Verizon took so long to release it. Fortunately, those are my only problems.

OK its not just me. I am unlocked (by the way it unlocked on its own one morning on the way to work, weird.) No root though. And 10-20 times a day my phone will not turn on when I hit power button and then the boot up animation shows up. And takes forever as well. Its not just when I use Google search. Maybe I/we have an app not compatible with jelly bean or too many apps. Idk. But its frustrating because its always when I really need to use my phone. Do you guys have updated side loaded Google wallet app? Have you guys done a factory reset? Don't wanna reset if it won't fix the problem. Hope we get an update soon.

I have not done a factory reset yet, but I will Saturday night since I'm off work Sunday and Monday and return results. I have no sideloaded apps other than flash player but removed it soon after the update despite no support for flash on JB.

Screen Sensitivity

Has anyone else noticed that the screen seems to lose/gain sensitivity? For example, when I'm scrolling through my contacts it will randomly select one of the contacts. Or it will all of a sudden scroll really fast down the list. This is my third one, and they have all done it. The selecting of random stuff while scrolling is very annoying. Happens in all apps.. Facebook, Tapatalk, Contacts, Browser...

I rooted right away, but haven't flashed a custom Rom yet. I use my phone all day long for work, and it started getting to be too much always loading custom roms, not knowing what might bug out on you half way through the day. Don't get me wrong, I have been a flash addict for years lol but I'm trying to hold myself back for now.
But is this a known issue with stock? I would think it would have to be if it's fixed in custom Roms, wouldn't it? Because it would seem to be something that is intentionally fixed.

I honestly havent noticed this happening. Have you checked to make sure you dont have anything eating up your memory or processor? You said its happened on multiple phones, all GS3's i gathered, but its possible you may have an app that just isnt playing well with others....

Nope, works fine for me.
Nope. Not very. Just a bit laggy.
I see that UI on 4.2 is not so fast as it was on 4.1.2, but some apps (e.g. chrome) works a bit faster.
So, yep - I'm happy with the update.

People who aren't having speed issues: Can you test a couple of scenarios I've noticed in particular?
1) In the new gmail: tap on the account switching area at the top. This loads far slower for me with the new app
2) Put your phone to sleep or wake it up. Sleep/wake seems quite a bit less responsive in 4.2 on both of the stock phones I've tested.

Disable all animations in developers options and screen off animation will be less noticeable.

i made i wipe cache and now is working fine. thanks a lot
No. 4.2 is just as fast as 4.1.2 on my GNex... which was fast whether I use the stock UI or Apex Launcher. Granted there is an initial sluggishness during the initial boot from services loading in the background... but after that my GNex is smooth and fast.
Those of you experiencing slow speeds: Try flashing the factory image from Google. I had one app that didn't work properly and a flash to factory stock and re-root fixed the problem. It's possible you have an app running in the background eating up resources too.
I understand these threads and posts must be annoying to those who aren't having issues, but to people like me, who OTAed a bone stock phone and are left with a less-than-satisfactory experience, it is equally frustrating. Especially considering how many improvements were made with 4.1-4.1.2, which have now been rendered moot.
I guess my only recourse is to wipe and flash stock, but because I'm not rooted and don't have any backups, it'll be fun to rebuild my phone.

Turn off that live wallpaper! JK hopefully that isnt the case...
Each Android iteration on the GN has gotten smoother for me. 4.2 is pretty amazing out of the box, much like 4.1 was when compared to 4.0.3/.4. The GN is definitely not lacking when it comes to having what it takes for 4.2.
4.2 is really, really fast. When they fix camera rotation and recent apps, it will be perfect. It killed my urge for N4. Now I can easily wait for one more year... Good job Google.
