Need Help. Ran across the App Acer Recovery Installer. In its change Log it show v3.01 added support of the A100 Tablet.
My Question is has anyone onboard here used this app to install ClockworkMod Recovery on there A100 ?

Should work fine as long as you run the unlocked boot loader. If you have the locked boot loader cwm won't run, fails verification from the bootloader and you'll be locked out of recovery until you replace it with stock or unlock the boot loader.

Thanks for the Very Quick Reply to My Post. I'm some what confused. I thought that after the tablet had been rooted and this App was installed that the App "Acer Recovery Installer" would Unlock the Boot Loader ? Sorry I know a lot about CyanogenMod and the HP Touchpad but very New to the Acer Models. Acer's seem to be a bit tougher to Mod.

No, it will not unlock the bootloader. You have to do that manually. The app will only install the custom recovery (which requires an unlocked bootloader).

Hi, I have searched everywhere for the solution to my problem I even tried posting in cyanogenmod official forum but no one posted back so I'm gonna try posting my problem here
I just rooted my Arc S (LT18i) and I wanted to install cyanogen mod in it the only problem is that I can't :/
My bootloader is locked so fastboot mode in my phone isn't enabled , I don't wanna pay 20$ just to unlock it so I bought and instaled Rom Manager, I've read that I could also intall cyanogen mod through there.
When I select "Download ROM" it said that I needed to install CWM and it asked me if I wanted to install it now, I said yes and selected my phone model, then it said that my phone isn't yet supported, no problem I just needed to use x-part to download and install CWM , everything went fine in x-part and now I have CWM, then I tried going to "Download ROM" again, once again it says that I need to install CWM, I just said that I installed it manualy it accepts it and Cyanogen wasn't on the list .. I don't know why.
I have the lincensed version and I do have Advanced mode on.
Can someone please help me, I realy wan't to install cyanogen mod in my phone.
Thanks for reading

As you need to flash the CM kernel you need to unlock the boot loader.
Rom Manager does not support Xperia.
Pvy.
Open Xperia Arc development Section find unlock bootloader thread ,and start learning HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, its really easy actually

You would still need to unlock your bootloader. See the guides and stickys, as no boot loader is unlockable.

Thats What i Hate about Rom MAnager.
I recently got the Xperia S {No SD Card Slot, 32gb internal Storage}
I know it may sound silly, but could someone point me in the right direction for Flashing and Rooting this, what what's the best Rom/Kernal/Recovery Menu for this awesome device?
Just want to say, I do have experience on flashing stuff, installing roms ect
Just wondering what tools are needed to Root and Flash this thing
Thanks All!
this is the xS index for tutorials and guides and everything in between
regarding the part about best rom, you're always gonna receive a biased opinion on that coz that pretty much boils down to user preference

Check first: *#*#SERVICE#*#* >>service info>>configuration
if it says Bootloader unlocked allowed=yes then try as explained below ! It will definitely works !
I suggest you to first unlock your bootloader via the easy tool described at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1560613
then flash the Doomkernel with the flashtool booting at fastboot mode. Before doing that never forget to install the necessary drivers.
The kernel is preloaded with custom recovery CWM and TWRP. While booting when you see doom logo pressing at 'vol +' you'll get CWM and pressing at camera button you'll get TWRP.
And flash the su and busybox package via recovery (CWM or TWRP)
for flashtool http://androxyde.github.io/
for kernel and su & busybox package: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2305591
& then enjoy Rooted jelly bean
ALL THE BEST !

I wanted to know about unlocking the bootloader and if possible remove the Samsung galaxy grand gt-i9082 logo from start. Also, I forgot to backup the default CyanogenMod while downloading another one from ROM toolbox. So, of anyone could upload the default cm11's bootlogo zip. Thanks.

What exactly do you want to unlock in the bootloader.
The unlocked bootloader concept exists in HTC because they have a UI before you can access the recovery and flash image files. But for Samsung and Sony there are two distinct modes available, Recovery Mode and Download Mode, so there has been no point in messing with the bootloader.

In CyanogenMod 11, the option exists if we wanted to be prompted to enter a mode on boot. This drove me to curiositya and can't we remove the Samsung galaxy grand screen that shows at first.

I read through a handful of posts on XDA regarding this. From what I learnt is that it was possible till early 2011 by using busybox to make some files writable but since then members haven't been able to change the model number splash screen. But the loophole was closed by Samsung and it's now hard-coded into the bootloader. Editing the bootloader is possible, but editing or removing the boot splash screen is not an easy task to say the least.

Hey Guys,
quick question - where is the bootloader on this thing?
I just received my G Pad today - used towelroot and flashify to flash twrp and was able to get root and do a nandroid in twrp.
BUT:
while booting recovery via adb command (and via quick boot) it identifies as V510 and states boot success bootloader unlocked.
Yet i can't boot to recovery or bootloader via vol up/down and no bootloader via ad reboot bootloader or quick boot/termnial
where can i unlock that bootloader for sure? all i could find was the normal fastboot method with oem unlock but no fastboot for me.
Any help/hint is appreciated.
Cheers
Buster
PS: (edit)
I don't mean download mode - this works (LG Tool recognizes it)
Have a look over here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uo3YfszOPsQ
or
On the tablet start Flashify , in the menu press: reboot to recovery.

What I suspected. Sounds like the incorrect version of TWRP was installed. You'll need to go the the V500 thread, pinned to the top of the General section and follow the various instructions for installing Loki. You can't unlock your bootloader on the V500, per se. There is a work around. That's why you couldn't find what you were looking for.

Well that explains it then - if only the GPE edition is unlockable - it goes back to the seller. and LG gets a nice email about that.
also since I'm on 4.4.2 now the loki install fails so I'm out of luck anyways. (TWRP was the correct one btw on 4.2.2.)
thanks

Maybe I didn't uncheck the auto reboot option from odin the first time. But at the next attempts I boot in recovery immediately.
Is there something that I can do now?
Is it a problem that my device fits the snapdragon processor and not the exynos one?
