Everytime I put a new song + videos to my external SD Card, the files will not play properly. All i hear from the music are scribbles and videos won't even show up on the video app.
But the files run fine when i put them on the internal memory.
Any suggestions?
I am currently running KyanRom 1.28
with Sammy Kernel

Do you 'safely remove' the card before removing it from your PC?

Yes I did, I have actually never taken it out of my phone all along, I only just took it out now to format on the pc as it wouldnt format on the desire, now windows is unable to complete the format, what other software can i use to force a format...
I had this exact issue with a cheapo 16gb memory card. I now use a branded 8gb and no problems at all. I had lost all photos and maps for copilot and decided enough was enough. Not sure if Android is not too happy with 16gb or the fact it was a cheap card.
I now use a Samsung class 6 8gb card. Works perfect.

You can format straight from the phone's settings
Goto settings>>SD & phone storage>> ... First choose Unmount SD card, then Format SD card, it will automatically remount it.

Interestingly this is the sandisk 4gb card that came with the phone from Tmobile, so its shouldnt be a problem. I guess though

I did try to try to format on the phone but after formating it does not mount the card back to the phone. and I took it out and try to do it on a pc even try using the panasonic SD formatter but still will not format.
What do you reckon guys send it back to tmobile.. or what?
Yeah, if the panasonic formatter fails, Id send it back. I had a similar problem a long time ago with a SanDisk card and they were happy to replace it.
Yeah...thanks for that, just spoken to tmobile and they will put another in the post for me...
I've been dealing with this exact issue as well. Very frustrating. I had a 16GB SD card in my G2 and photos would intermittently disappear then reappear a few days later. I got an Amaze with a 32GB card and it does the same damn thing. Any suggestions?
Hi this is my first time posting a question on here so I'm hoping I'm doing this correctly
I recently received a SanDisk Ultra 64GB MicroSDHC card to use in my AT&T Note II phone. When I inserted the external SD card into my phone, everything mounted correctly and functioned right. However, when I tried to transfer my pictures and music into to the external SD card from my internal SD card using the stock app My Files, it would say that everything moved to my external SD card, but when I checked it, nothing was in the external SD card and the files that i had moved from my internal SD card were gone. So I backed up all my files from the internal SD card to my laptop to make sure I don't lose files again.
Afterwards I tried all of these methods to get files to properly into the external SD card:
I tried connected the external SD card directly to my laptop using an adapter and moved the files there
I tried moving files to the external SD card while it was in my phone
I also tried using KIES and KIES Air to move files into my external SD card
The first two methods didn't even have files show in the external SD card. The third method, using KIES and KIES air had files in the external SD card but they were corrupted where I can open my picture and it's a icon of a man of some kind and my music files just wouldn't play.
So I just factor reset my phone hoping that this would fix this problem and I haven't tried moving files yet. I'm hoping that perhaps it was an app that was conflicting with the external SD card.
I know that my external SD card is not fake because it came in a legitimate package and I also ran a software (that I can't remember the name of) that puts in data in the external SD card until it fills up and reads the data to see how much actually went in.
Could anybody tell me what the problem is and how I can fix it? I can't go back to the store and exchange it because it was a gift and there's no receipt. Thank you so much for your help.

well seee if it works on other phone if not then sent it back to sandisk service center they dont need any proof of purchase just the sd card packet pic will do as proof as it comes with lifetime warranty , just sent them a mail and report if its faulty and they will ask u to send the sd card back to sandisk center and they will send u a new sd card :good:
if they ask for a sd card no just chk your sd card back it written over there and not on the package as the org number they need is available in sd card back

My external card which I was hoping to use for Google music storage refuses to stay mounted . I also have to reformat several times per week to even use it. I've got two Samsung 64Gb cards and they both do the same thing. They work fine in my laptop!

I had the same problem with my phone. I found the problem was that they were exFAT and not FAT32. Changing this is hard because most software doesn't reformat anything bigger than 32 GB. If you're rooted, "AParted ( Sd card Partition )" by sylkat was able to reformat the SD card and fix the problem. It changed mine to FAT32 and my LG G3 no longer needed to format it.
There are special programs for Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 that can do this as well, but I didn't do this so I cannot help you. I will tell you that'll you'll need to hook up your SD to your computer via reader, card slot, or any other way you're able to connect it. If you're not rooted do a quick google search to format it via computer.
Hope this helps!
Has anyone found a way to get the SD Card permissions fixed on 4.4.2? I've tried the sd card fix, but it hasn't worked. I can view pictures and videos from my sd card, but the music on my sd card cannot be played as the file is not supported. However, if I move the mp3 to the internal sd card, then the music will start playing. Has anyone come up with a better solution for this?

Did you tried different SD cards into your phone rather than those 4GBs you have?
Just to make sure that the problem is with your phone or SD card.
Just make sure your SD card don't have bad sectors. You can check it with H2testw (write and verify). It works on windows.
Yes I have a 2 gb and it works perfectly
Can bad sectors are repairable?

Every bad sector cannot be repaired. You can just make them work temporary.
That means I have to use the 2gb ...thanks for the replies:good:

What kind of damage? If its physically damage then can't be recover.
format it
try to format it using fat32 and use it.......if still not and reset ur device.
Help, I have a card (32 gb) the problem started while continuously removing the card.
The problem, rather I am afraid it is not remedied so when formatting, deleting, resetting the partition, although it is still seen only system format as FAT32 and there is no bad blocks.
What could be the problem and how to fix it?
