Haven't seen anyone shared this yet.
Here's the KOODO ICS 4.0.4 stock ROM I used CWM to flash to stock after I tried the custom ROM.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/koodostock/files/KOODO_SGH-T989D_Stock_Signed.zip/download
I also flashed DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIDE before I flashed this or you can used CWM Recovery 6.0.1.2 to wipe system and cache.

Interesting, how does this compare to the Telus ICS stock ROM? Is there anything additional it has that Telus doesn't? I assume this would work with any of the ICS radios as well?

I also tried the TELUS stock myself and didn't feel any difference. I flashed the modified TELUS radio and it was working fine.
Thanks a lot! Is it rooted? Is the radio included?

How did you dumped the firmware? is there a way to have a stock recovery flashable?

Read that it was the exact same thing minus the boot logo. I have no idea from a dev standpoint though... interested to know if it has a different radio on it since all the Telus ones don't seem to agree with my phone.

This is just a CWM backup converted to a CWM flashable zip. I don't think you can flash with the stock recovery.

From the android version history 4.0.4 only have the following features:
- Stability improvements
- Better camera performance
- Smoother screen rotation
- Improved phone number recognition
So, not a lot of changes from 4.0.3 but the stability improvements might be an important one.
As for radio I think it was the same as TELUS but I can't tell now as I flashed mine shortly after I got the phone and didn't make a backup.
Would be nice if someone with the KOODO phones can let us know.
If someone can debloat this, include Super User and couple of scripts to make this a smooth ride, i would be interested in flashing it.

I had no idea koodo even offered the t989. They mostly carry low end phones besides the iPhone and that will run you $500 on the tab. To the point though, I imagine its identical to the telus version as they are a sister company

These are the steps that I took to flash this;
1. Flash DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE or use the new CWM 6.0.1.2 to wipe ROM
2. Flash Radio [I used the one from DARKSIDE.TLLE4]
3. Flash Stock ROM
4. Wait 10 minutes after reboot [I waited 2 minutes and it was fine]
I was thinking about giving this one a try, since I normally run the Telus stock as my daily, but that has some issues with compass and its 4.0.3.
Thanks for posting this.
Also, Koodo just started offering the T989D.
I think it just need to be rooted and deodexed, I don think here is a radio included though
Koodo is Telus's discount brand. I doubt there's more bloat that on Telus ROMs, must be the same, except the 4.0.4 part

I'll wait for the uploaded with crt since I'm out and about anyhow.

TMobile WiFi Firmware update= Lost Root
Posted in General section on this too. I called TMobile to state I wanted WiFi calling. They enabled from their servers, but since I was NOT running stock ROM to enable WiFi calling from menu settings means as they wanted me to do, they sent me an update location to grab latest Kies software, which included a detailed post on manually upgrading and havibg WiFi calling. Software installed on PC. Ran the file which recognizes phone with USB cable plugged in. States it has firmware upgrade to enable WiFi calling. Ran the upgrade and it stated Ver 11.12.16.02 was running and installing Firmware upgrade on device SGH-T989(my 10 digit telephone number in parentheses).
The good news is after phone reboots, the familiar skip or learn about TMobile WiFi calling was on my screen. The bad news is I definitely do NOT have root anymore. Settings in about phone also shows the regular update ran :
Android 2.3.6
BaseBand T989UVKL1
Kernel 2.6.35.11
Build number GINGERBREAD.UVKL1
Sounds like I have to go and re-Route my phone but I'm unclear what this will do regarding WiFi calling in general.

I'd stick with the telus rom, the difference between android 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 is almost non existent and this rom will give you no features you can use.

Hi,
Just got my Nexus. Can't update it as Nexus says it's up to date. And my Android version is 4.0.1 at the moment.
But I see in your signatures most of you have 4.0.3.
Do I need to be a developer (must have SDK or smth) to upgrade? Or is there a simple way to do that?
Thanks!
4.0.3 OTA is not available. It's in AOSP.
Only way to get 4.0.3 is to use a custom ROM .

well luckily for you if you ever decide to go the custom rom route, the people at samsung, google, and the wonderful developers online have made it almost idiot proof, and safe to do. you will probably be surprised how easy it is. in fact, most people seem to have the most issues installing the windows(or mac) drivers properly.
peter alfonso - peteralfonso.com has the Bugless Beast rom, which is nearly stock aosp, and very stable
i have to say I tried rooting, unlock and custom rom... and the hardest bit was finding the right drivers.. but used the universal ones (in the forums) and it worked like a charm.. Just follow a guide and it's simple... but I've stuck with stock as the camera functionality isn't as good in AOSP... will flash cm9 when its ready though

You don't need to install any drivers on Mac to make fastboot working. Just download a fastboot binary (like on Linux).

flash to custom 4.0.3 if you want it now
I am also still at 4.0.1 and when I check for update, still no 4.0.2
When were will be an update to 4,0,3 will we be able to update without losing all the settings?
I have Backup checkbox marked in my settings.
So, if I'm on 4.0.2 and download a 4.0.3 ROM it will be compatible? Same with flashing a 4.0.3 kernel on a 4.0.2?
Thanks

Well by the sounds of it your not planing to root your device (at least straight away). Although if you do decide to purchase I recommend it as there are numerous fixes with custom roms/kernels. The battery out of the box was shockingly bad but this was quickly fixed by flashing a new kernel and it improved dramatically!! The other issue out of the box I had was the signal dropped out every so often but you can flash the latest baseband and that resolved the issue.
Hope that helps...

It depends on the rom you might flash. Some like CyanogenMod have a modified kernel that improves performance and battery life anyway. I personally like Francos kernel but it some what depends on your experiences with different rom/kernel combinations and experimentation.
As for flashing the 'right' baseband, there are different releases depending on your location. However this is not to say that a asian baseband won't work in europe (they do). So again this calls for personal experimentation and seeing what works best for you in your area.

The version out of the box will more than likely be 4.0.1. If your planning to root anyway then you don't need to worry about what you get out of the box.
If your bootloader is locked (which it probably will be) when you get your device you will need to unlock this. Doing so will wipe your device so it's recommended to do so sooner rather than later.
EDIT:
After this point flashing a new kernel will not wipe your app data (unless you want to )
There are 'stock' rooted roms available, I but I believe these are limited to 4.0.1/2 only. If you want great performance I would recommend a custom rom.
The Toolkit (here!) is a great tool if your new to the whole rooting scene so I recommended looking at that.
You can have a look at the list of basebands as well (here!) which might make the situation a little clearer. There's no 'easy' answer, as I said before you need to do some reading and self testing. Everyones situation is different depending on exact location and rom combination. Don't be afraid at trying these new things (you can always flash a different one).

As far as I know (I may be wrong), unlocking the bootloader and rooting the device does not void Samsungs warranty. Even if it does you can relock the bootloader/unroot your device so there were no signs of you tampering with your device in that manner.

No. The newest official version is 4.0.2.
In the development section of this forum there are 4.0.3 roms available because they are in aosp but 4.0.3 never never got pushed ota. There are leaked 4.0.4 roms too.
To flash a kernel you need to unlock your bootloader, flash clockwork mod recovery and flash from there. Don't flash Franco.kernel over 4.0.2
Just use the gnex toolkit to do everything, its simple.
Then read about bootloaders, adb and fastboot.
very valuable knowledge.

It will update to 4.0.2 from 4.0.1 when you turn it on and it will upgrade Over The Air (OTA)
Aosp is android open source project.
All the code for android is free for people to take and build and is stored in Google's aosp repositories.
Read as much as you can, nexus are quite simple so you'll figure it out.

To flash a kernel you need to unlock your bootloader, flash clockwork mod recovery and flash from there. Don't flash Franco.kernel over 4.0.2

I think you mean don't flash on anything under 4.0.3. Franco only works on 4.0.3/4 builds.

one last thing....if i want to stay on official 4.0.2 and i want a good battery, what should i do? cuz franco's kernel only supports 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 and those are custom rom right? i want to stay on stock rom at the moment...i dunwant to root or unlock bootloader just yet as i will only try it when i get more experience about the phone...
Considering the similarities between the domestic variants of the Note 2 and their international counterparts, would anyone be willing to test some of the success that the folks over in the AT&T forum have had with porting the international N7100/N7105 firmware/ROM's over to the T-Mobile Note 2
Check out these two threads over in the AT&T forum and see what you all think:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016575
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018411
The basic gist of the procedure is to use a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP to flash a stock N7100/N7105 firmware, and then flash your carrier specific modem/kernel.
Why would anyone want to do this? Well, for starters, you would benefit from built-in stock-supported tethering, and a few other features that carriers disable (YMMV). But mainly this means that the domestic versions of the Note 2 can benefit from the development of the international versions! So, when the latest version of Android comes out for the rest of the world, we aren't stuck here waiting for our carrier to catch up to everyone else...
So what do you all think? Anyone willing to try?
I have see this post on att

Actually, there is a port of cm10 for the ATT Note 2 device, it was ported from the official cm10 for the N7100 device by madmack. I'm running it on the T-Mobile Note 2 and to tell you the truth, it is very stable so far even if it's coming from a nightly build. Check out this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024495.
Once you go to that link, go to page 24 or 25 because you need to download 3 zip files in order for the rom to function correctly, also make sure to download the modem or radio because you need to flash that as well. Before you flash anything make sure to go to the OP for that rom and follow instructions thoroughly. If you're concerned for the S Pen functionality, don't worry, it works, I just had to download an app from the play store called Memo (which doest the same stuff as S Note.
Well if you wanna try, I don't have the time but .....
Here is some stuff to help you..
Do a Nandroid backup. or Titanium backup.
Do a full wipe,
Flash the rom you want, if given the option don't flash the modem
then flash Jedi-X Kitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106549
Then if you had to flash another Modem for that Rom then flash http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote2/tmoroms/JediX/T889V_Modem.zip if that fist your PHONE (tmO)
I may do a video on it in Youtube if i get time but the omega rom was just taking too long to download so i am not trying it tonight.
I am going to flash Jedi X
Nite...
See you on yTube. http://bit.ly/YT-DL-SG
It didn't work

I just tried this, and while the Omega ROM flashed just fine, I had no radio signal, no data, no calls, and the phone would not recognize my SIM Card. That is after flashing the Jedi Kitchen and the radio provided in the link.
The Omega ROM looks pretty awesome, it would be nice to have it working on TMO Note II's.
Disclaimer:
I have to admit, I've flashed 4 different ROM's so far, and only two of them have completed the install. The rest have failed during the update, or caused a boot cycle. This includes the Jedi Master ROM. So it's entirely possible I'm doing something wrong.

ROOT BOX is an ATT ROM that works well
CARBON NIGHTLY | KROZ HUE THEME | CRACK FLASHER
It is actually posted in the n7100 that all roms need to be ported to us carriers and gives procedures on how to do so
Not saying the guys in the posts before mine are wrong but need to be careful when flashing n7100 roms without porting them the proper way

Hey did you ever try a complete wipe using TWRP as your recovery factory wiping then system wiping as well, I Also found depending on your SD card if you can back up your Sd cards Sometimes it is helpful to start with just the files you need to flash on the sd. Make sure that you only flash the correct radio. For me that was the latest radio I think its the second down in the list for the jedi kitchen part.
Feel free to contact me but I am very busy so I apologize ahead of time for being slow.
Can anyone answer if 4G and LTE is still working or is it 3G only? Are you able to still roam the same?
Hi,
I'm fairly educated in rooting and flashing custom ROM (First Galaxy S, HTC HD7, Galaxy Nexus), but I've been hit by a little problem with my Galaxy Note II.
I have the Canadian model SGH-I317M on Telus (Quebec, Canada). This model is quite special, and we can't just flash N7100 ROMs directly on it as you guys may already know.
This is why I'm posting on AT&T's forum (SGH-I317).
Yesterday I flashed one of the available ROMs (NOTEorious prime), and everything worked and ran smoothly as expected, except one thing: Data connection. I wrote down my APNs and made sure at least 10 times they were OK. I also reverted to default, re-entered them and rebooted several times. No chance.
I guess it has to be something related to AT&T's kernel included with the ROM, but since SGH-I317M is such a shady model I'm struggling for information. I did my search on the forums and saw nothing clear and precise on what to do exactly.
For now I restored my backup to stock rooted ROM. Unfortunately I was out of time and didn't try an other ROM. But as soon as I'm out of the office I'll download an other one. Still, NOTEorious was very appealing and I would like to make it work.
So here I am, asking you if you encountered the problem. If not, I am willing to dive into the problem with experienced users if necessary. I have never done advanced stuff beyond rooting and flashing my devices, but I'm a software analyst. I can learn.
Oh and, please bear with my English skills, it's not my native language !
Thank you
How did you confirmed that LTE is not working?
With some ROMs (i use Jedi X on rogers) you won't see the LTE icon but 4G instead in the status bar, and the normal 4G is H+
test with speedtest.net just to be sure that you really have a problem.

I disconnected Wireless and tried to search google using chrome. No data connection.
I should have specified that i simply have no data :S Sorry
EDIT: Changed in the main post
i've had this problem on previous phones where data wouldn't connect when flashing a rom... it was as simple as the modem not being compatible with my network.
Try pulling and flashing a telus modem with your new rom and see if that helps.

Thanks for the tip ! Never had to do this before.
It doesn't seem to be any telus modem, but a guy pointed out that using Rogers' work. I will try it out and update as soon as I can.
I have the telus model too and was encountering the same data problems until.....
Flashed Clean Rom 3.3. I highly recommend it. When flashing it it asks you what carrier and you can select Telus. I didn't have to change any carrier settings and lte worked and even had the icon. It is a super fast and stable rom too.
Select the perseus kernel in the flashing options as well.

Try a different ROM like Jedi. It retains your modem on the 317m. and in the case something gets changed, you can also flash the modems as a .zip on the same thread.
The key to flashing att rom to our Canadian devices is having patch designated to our carriers. I always flash Rogers modem with ril and csc patch and never had any data problems and yeah most of roms I flashed to my phone are att roms.

Download modem with ril and your csc from link below and use it to flash after flashing your rom. You will need to flash them after you flash your rom before reboot.

Im still having data and voice problems, actually I just put the sim and it have a little bit of ATT signal and then it goes off with a circle in the bar icon, I already do a lot of things like change modems, rom, kernels, unlock change imei, I order a new sim connector wich comes with sd card reader I believe this is the problem in other case if doesn't work I guess is a hardware like radio or modem failure wich will be a mess because I spend already 350 dollars for the Note2. Just waiting for the sim flexible to come and test if it works. Any other suggestions I will be all ears. Thanks guys!
I'm guessing you have a recovery then if your flashing modems. What recovery are you using. Did you make a backup of the stock rom. If your using teamwin did you make a fill backup with the modem and efs from your stock backup. And if you restore back to the start dose that fix your problem. Sorry just need some info to help you out
