I'm running kyanROM with minimal use. Took it off charger at 6 am listen to Bluetooth streaming I'm my car. Driving to school. Out at 12, barely no use at work and its at 53% I have an extended battery. Usually I listen to music all at work and by the time I get home at 11 its under 20%. I've seen people get 2 days out of theirs with over 8 hours of screen time...... something just doesn't seen right with battery life. Any ideas?

That is SUCH a subjective question to ask. There are so many different variables that can effect battery life. What apps you have installed, which ones were running. Seeing as you are not using a stock battery, it makes it a even more difficult question to answer. Personally, I'd be happy with those specs

May be you should do Battery Calibration and wipe battery stats at 100% Charge and test again.
It all depends on what is running and what you use, such as taskillers and synced items. But 15h is good battery life. I get about 11 but almost 3 hours of that is screen on time.

Something is definitely hijacking your battery. Or at least those stats make that seem very likely. I would try another ROM and use the stock battery. Some(mostly all) of the cheap extended batteries are only really good for the first couple charges, for some reason they just can't hold one after that. Had a very similar problem on my captivate only to realize the extended battery was the problem. The stock battery on that phone ended up giving me over 4x the life.

Install Juice Defender.. i installed it when i saw my phone couldn't last more then 18h and now( well when i had it) i go push it 2-3 days on my normal use that i was doing.. just by installing Juice Defender.
also when WiFi is not around you should take it off.. and LTE takes a lot of battery life. just saying.
also when you go to bed on travel and don't have a charger.. Put it on FLIGHT MODE you will only lose like 1% of battery after 8 h of sleep
Install "GSam Battery Monitor"
it should help you to find out what process in Android System is draining your battery

I downloaded the Ktoonsez kernel today for my new S3(first android phone as well), but 1. It feels so laggy compare to my stock Kernel, and 2. My battery is draining like crazy! I when from like 94% to 88% in about 30 mins, and that was with the phone lock the entire time....
I also downloaded Flaux's Kernel. That one was real smooth, but it was also draining my battery a lot while the phone is also lock.
I'm currently using HighOnAndroid custom ROM and had to go back to the factory stock Kernel. I don't know what I'm doing wrong that I'm getting such horrible battery life using those two ROMs, when people are reporting such great battery life usage :crying:
.The battery needs to build a cache to reference and stabilize to show proper battery stats. Flash a rom and kernel and stick with it a few days. I'm using ktoonsez on aokp right now with excellent results. Even on stock roms I use ktoonsez kernel and get much better battery life via the kernel itself and tweaking the settings.
Also, if your saying the rom wasn't smooth I bet it wasn't the kernels doing, it works awesome for most. Of course there are some phones some things just don't work with and that may be your situation but it'd be rare

Well that could be anything, but ideally yes. Battery if very eradic after a full wipe and flash. Also try the app better battery stats, it will tell you if anything is causing your phone not to sleep, which would cause drain.

Hi guys, I previously had an EVO LTE, and an Epic 4GT when I was Sprint but picked this device up when I changed carriers several weeks ago and haven't had the chance to root it yet, so my SGIII is 100% stock.
After downloading and installing the OTA update two days ago, two factory resets, and wiping my SD card multiple times the device is still noticeably more sluggish than it was when it was running 4.0.4. I was under the impression that Jelly Bean would speed up the device, not bog it down, is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I've noticed this before, and I'm puzzled - how come everyone here has so much of their battery consumed by "android system"?
On my S3, "Cell standby" is always by far the biggest drain - mine is currently showing 54% on Cell Standby and the next by rank are Screen at 18% and Andriod System at 13%.
Ok, it does vary a bit with the pattern of usage, but I've never seen battery stats on my phone with Cell Standby at less than 50%. I use the phone a fair amount and usually get close to 2 days on a charge.

It won't change the battery life but it will correct what is really using the battery. Samsung made a little goof. Cell standby is reporting 10 times higher than it should. Divide by ten to get the real usage number or apply the fix.
ive seen many people having the battery issue with the fk23 update. i myself have noticed a significant battery loss for my E4GT, normally on the fi27 update id range a day and some odd hours of battery life. but up until recently ive notice that i can barely get 4 hours of use then dead. which sucks because i have the 2430 mah gold battery and i can listen to music for about an hour and drop only 1%. now i unplug my phone set it down get ready for work and its already down 5% any help?

I used Titanium to freeze most of the bloatware. I think you've got a corrupted flash.
Do you have gsam or better battery stats installed? See what's burning up cycles.

However I did turn off data when I went to bed. But during the day when the phone is sleeping (with data on) it normally drops 1~2% per hour, still a lot better than other custom JB roms even with scripts.

Who is the one that is ignorant? You have ignored all the talk about the fact that battery calibration is not needed for the S3.
Also your thread title is ridiculous and implies that this app would help drain your battery, which is the opposite of what people want.
I took an average of my battery life for a whole week at work. It was pretty consistent every day. I then reset my battery stats. Took another average. I got pretty close to identical numbers.
I use to believe resetting battery stats was important. It is not. Just give the rom a day to settle after flashing that's all. Calibrating your battery is a complete waste of time.

I get that and MORE screen time with out this...
Showing battery time doesn't really prove anything... 25% screen time from all those hours really isn't much.. Its only 5hours...
And by the looking at your chart you actually plugged your phone in to charge a couple of time to get those times...
I get 12 hours on battery with 8hours screen time... Just by tweaking out the kernel... With out "calibrating" the battery................. With out charging lol
Once again, that doesn't prove anything...
This is a placebo and nothing more.

"help.. Battery drain"
Help is a synonym of aid. If I wanted to say it made your battery drain faster I would have entitled this "app to assist your battery drain tremendously"
Seriously... If you are that ignorant do not comment on things.

Nah, bud, I think he's got you. Or something...
Anyway, your title appears as though you're saying, somewhat ironically, "Install this app if you want to see your battery drain tremendously".
Punctuation is a tremendously strong additive to a sentence, which, if applied properly, tremendously (and subtly) emboldens the text of which you've written.
I've gotta say this thread is absolutely hilarious and entertaining. Just out of curiosity I'm going to give it a shot to see if it helps, though I'm guessing it's bs.

I agree that your title is misleading.
Maybe if you reworded to "App to help battery draining issue" then it'd be fine.
And i used to use these kinds of apps but realized that if I didn't use it the battery lasted the same as if I did use it.
I'm on AOKP and I think task360 himself has said that it isn't needed, it just takes the ROM a few days to settle in; it does.

You guys realize that calibrating a Li-Ion battery requires that you do a few full discharge and fill recharge cycles, right? So what is the point behind a battery calibration app? To help you discharge your battery quickly.
I use quick discharge apps myself when breaking in a virgin battery. To me this 'calibration' app is really nothing morte than a battery run-down app to help speed the full discharge side of the calibrations.

Hehe if you think you have "proper grammar" Ask someone who really has it. At least Im real about my poor grammar and spelling. Blame the under funded school system.
Have any of you used this app? I think it's worth at least trying out. I've been using it now for a few days and it seems to have helped increase my battery life. A lot of times before I would get about 2.5 hrs of screen time and now I've noticed I've been getting almost 3.5 hrs...almost, but still good improvement nonetheless.
*It goes into learning mode for about 2-3 days before actually starts helping save battery.
It's free in the playstore, you guys should check it out if you didn't know about it already

Been using it for two days, after initial 2 days learning, and for me it has increased my battery life by a ridiculous amount. I work in an area with little to no service and my phone is almost always searching. I would unplugmy found around 5 am and would be at 30-40% by noon. Apon checking my phone for the past two days its been at about 75%. So I love it!!

Yeah usually I don't really believe in apps claiming to save battery now because none of them ever really worked for me. But this app is made for phones specifically using snapdragon processors and actually works, pretty damn good too.

It must have gotten better from when it first launched because it absolutely DECIMATED my battery life in the first versions! Maybe I'll try it again.
Admittedly, I'm running root66 MD5 and I'm getting the best battery life I've ever gotten without undervolting and the ROM has been extremely stable for me so I'm sticking with it for now... maybe my constant ROM flipping was messing up the app. I'll give it another shot.
I tried it for a week and it wasn't even doing anything at all...
Just get battery doctor from the market should do.

Also just so you guys know I was doing a lot of web browsing and watching a good amount of YouTube, plus playing a little iron man and plumber crack but did a reboot, which is why it doesn't come up on the battery stats.

Hmm...that's odd, works pretty well for me. Well if battery doctor helps you save more battery then keep using it. Just out of curiosity how much battery life do you get with using battery doctor?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
4 hours? I've been getting 5 hours of on screen time with MD5, WiFi on all the time, playing Metropolis and Simpsons: Tapped Out...
Auto brightness on or off? I have mine turned off (the screen is plenty bright at one tick above base).
All I know is that I never came close to 5 hours until upgrading to MD5...

Battery Guru has been "learning my device" for 3 days now and it says I have 6 hours until battery savings begin. I'll let everybody know how it goes.

To be honest, I haven't noticed really any difference. I'll get some screenshots later tonight if you'd like, but overall, if there were any battery savings, they have been minimal. Notice my screen-on time in the original screenshot. I really am not a power user. I only ever have to charge my battery during the day if I've been gaming on it or if I have a rogue app chewing up battery. I usually go 12-14 hours and have 25-30% left with less than 2 hours screen-on time. I don't use task killers, however I reboot my phone daily before I pull it off the charger.
