Custom making a docking station

Ok here we go,
I have a MDA compact III which i have taken apart and am in the process of manufacturing a new custom case for, this is something that i notice not many people seem to do, at least i havn't seen any photos of someone doin this - maybe someone else should give it a try and post something... i'll post images of mine when i'm done.
Anyway what i really wanted to talk about was a custom docking station i want to make. i intend to use the mini USB port on my phone for both a method of charging through my computer but i also want to use it as the hands free... but this is the tricky bit... i want to use my computer as the hands free device i.e. use the mic and speakers connected to my computer all at the same time while charging my phone... sounds complicated ay? this is why i need your help... i can manufacture the dock and everything else but the hardware/software issues im well not that great at... please help and maybe give it a try yourselves... it'll be cool to see what everyone comes up with!
Cheers, Benjamin

i like your attempt...sounds damn interesting...i'm afraid i can't help you much about the handsfree thing.but i'd like to see some pics of your modded or custom housing. and by the way i'm not sure any device supports that kind of handsfree ,for now,at least over usual usb connection with pc....but nothing is impossible

Maybe you need something like that : http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-Headphone-4...yZ150774QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Or alternativly that one : http://cgi.ebay.com/3-in-1-Stereo-a...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
so you can transfer the sound from your artemis to yous PC and at the sametime sync/charge it!
you know what, i reckon that might work, i could take a feed from the mic and also use the 3.5mm jack run through my amp to my speakers. i had hopped for a software alternative using the USB port, but on further thought and now i've seen this device i think this is the only way that i'm going to be able to do it. thanks for your input, i'll purchase one of those adapters and post what i come up with.
Cheers,
Benjamin

I'm still gonna start with the obvious response. Use the search. Its designed to help you! And if you're gonna tell me searching for something as simple as flashing via SD card is hard.....then DAMN! Try this thread:

Thanks for the quick reply I forgot about all the love thrown around this place a Little more friendly over at modmyi but hey thanks for all your trouble
If you flash a new Rom don't you still have to charge it?
Well I had 2 8525's one to keep stable and one to test out all the new Roms on but one got broke in half screen got broke off and then a few days later the other ones connector went to **** so I used the half phone to charge up batteries LOL currently rocking the ever so hated iPhone but love the things that are going on over here now I'll definately get flamed thanks for all the help guys if it's anything at all the iPhone is hacked all to **** or as much as I could still waiting to get touch pro but kind of low on funds right now thanks again
If you have the 2, why don't you make 1 working phone out of the 2 "broken" phones?
Wouldn't that be easier than stuffing around with the batteries, all you'd need to do would be to exchange the mainboard from the one where the LCD has been broken off to the case where you have bad battery connectors.....
Cheers...
I think I actually tried that it's been quite a while do you know if I have to take the screen off to get to the motherboard
4 screws under the battery cover. then 1 screw on mb. Use the HTC service manual to take apart successfully. You shouldn't need to go further than taking off the back. There is a ribbon cable that needs to be taken off the mb, its sealed in under tape. Easy enough to get off.
Cheers...
thanks for the info I will do as soon as I get a chance thanks for all the help

Brokn GNex USB Port. UK Repairs ?

Ive had my G-Nexus for under 3 months, loved every minute of it but i sent it away to Vodafone to have it repaired as my USB port and headphone jack seemed to be acting a bit funky (intermittently working)
Got a phonecall today asking me for £100 to fix this fault as apparently it was physical damage !! Now i dont think this is the case and im going to fight tooth and nail to get it fixed for free !! But assuming i cant , any recommendations of places in the UK to get this repaired and an idea of the cost involved ?

Found this site already but looking for comparisons.
Give them this link from the Google issue tracker: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23789
This proves that the USB port is indeed very flaky and Samsung should also be painfully aware of it.
I will do! Thanks !
just now I'm just getting very scripted offshore messages so hopefully when the actual complaints team call me I should have somewhere to go with it.

[Q] Phone stopped charging?

My phone just doesn't charge anymore.. I've googled and googled. I found one page where a guy said to push up on the tongue of the port to get it centered, but that didnt help at all. I've tried multiple cords with no luck. So I have two questions. What is better to go to for help. My verizon store? Or talk to them on the phone? And if i do, would i need to return to stock? No wait, 3.. if i do need to return to stock, how would i do that with a dead phone? I posted a question on rootz aswell with no solutions yet, maybe y'all will have some ideas. Thanks ahead!

Had the same problem recently. It's a hardware issue, the only way to fix is to change the board inside the phone than contains the USB port.
And there is unfortunately no way of re-locking the bootloader, since your phone won't get a connection to a computer due to the dead port.
I looked around in an local Android forum and found someone who could fix my phone for a very fair price. The USB board is not expensive, you can get one on ebay for about 10 dollars
Hop this helps.

Thanks for the response, Im chatting with samsung support right now. Do you have the link of the repair guy?

anyway to find out I got screwed with previously repaired phone before purchase?

Hi friends.
Well I'm PC technician and anything that can be done on PC/laptop I suppose can be figured out on phones too.
I bought used Note 10 plus, but I'm anxious to know and my curiosity kills me,to find out if it's possible to know,
if phone was ever opened before, was something in it repaired like screen, wifi chip, battery, and I'm curious to know is there any app on Android to read battery discharge cycles.
I suppose experts can figure out if the phone was opened before just by looking at the edges of it.
Sell it on Facebook market place.
