[Q]ROM Manager default location?

Is there a way to get ROM MANGER to default to the Internal "SD" card for backups? It always goes to my external card.
I know I can manually launch clockworkmod and select "internal SD" but I would rather do it from within the O/S so I can name the files.

you can always rename the files however you like with any file editor to rename them
and you can move the zip files around to either Internal SD or External SD
personally i like them on the External SD better to safe space on my Internal SD

I do that but like the convenience of doing it from the O/S. I thought I preferred the external as well until yesterday. The reason I want to do that is because when I tried doing a restore from the external it kept crashing. Seems my 32GIG card is flaky (as these cards can be) and I couldn't restore. I know it's the card because it restored fine from the internal SD. The internal ram, not being a "card" is much more reliable and now I am too skittish to use the external MicroSd for backups.

PM Koush or sent him an email for a feature request on his CWR
to let user pick where the backup are kept

I think I'm missing something!?

Thanks for making me look foolish, I deserved it! But I don't feel that bad since Allgamer didn't recall either,

not exactly, i was thinking more in the area of Letting you select a Folder you like.
i do know of the internal vs. external option
that's why i said i like it to be on the external by default a few messages above
ideally we should be able to pick a folder to keep all that stuff, i'll like to point it to a folder called "ROMs" for example in the root of /sdcard/
instead of the default
(titanium backup just recently added that feature, well more like they improved it)

Hey everyone, I am very confused for the fiest time since Ive been on Android. All of a sudden, everytime I flash a new rom, in my battery stats it will show sd card as eating battery!?? So, I will Format my sd card, and it will go away. But I have tried 3 different sd card and it happens with every one so i know its not the sd card! And this wasnt happening before it just started like 3 days ago. Any ideas or help how to fix this??

could you be a bit more specific? what did you flash?
what do you mean the SD card is eating battery?

You know where u go in settings/battery to see your battery stats? It will say Screen, AndroidOS etc. IN there it will just say SD Card. I formated both the SD Card and Internal Storage and its gone now but its happened the last three times Ive flashed a rom. Oh, and it doesnt matter what Rom, Any rom I flash this seems to happen now all of a sudden. I usually go between 3 Roms, StrongSteve, FreeGS3 and Blazer

Have you tried a different SD card, or no SD card at all?

[Q] External SD always full

Hi Folks,
Tried a few search with different word but my problem doesn't create any issues with the phone "itself".
My T989d is equipped with a microSD of 8Gb. Since I've started to root, ( stock rom ) my external storage was in the 50-60% full maximum... Now, I'm barely able to keep 347Mb of free space !! The only .zip file I kept on the card are the rom zip file I'm enjoying as a DD ( in case I don't like a new rom I'm testing once and then ), darkside superwipe and super cache. I can't even restore my apps that are back'd up...
Should I use less storage by backing up online via My Backup Pro and delete the other backup files ?
How / where can I find a list of files/folders I can delete to gain extra space ? Because since I'm testing roms, can't restore any apps since my external storage is always full !
I'm enjoying the Infamous 3.1 rom ( beside that I miss the swipe keyboard )

that was USB Storage
this is the only thing displayed in SD Card portion

saved important data.. format SD card and import'd back the data I saved. Restore the apps that I'm always using.
now having 4.71Gb available...

Ok so ur sd is full and ur internal has room. This is what i would do. Pop out sd card and put it an adapter and plug it i. To ur computer not using ur phone. Then see what u have that u want or buy a new 64/32gb card and transfer everything over and u will have plenty of room. Last time i had to do this it took a while to clear it out

How do you make your external sd card on can be readed by system in cm10?

I am using MX player on cm10 and it seems that video and music on external sd card cannot be read by the system. even I have refreshed the apps but they didn't show up. is that possible to make CM10 read the external sd card other than ONLY usb storage?

I had this problem too.....my solution was to use a file manager to browse for video files on my extSD card and simply select them to play.....that way, MX player would be selected as the app to play them. When I cleared out from this, and opened the MX player app, the list of available videos included everything on the extSD card as well.....

well, I do that too.... I used root explorer to see my external card. the default file manager on CM10 also cannot read the external card.. I prefer the old file explorer...
I assumed that system cannot read the pics on external sd card too... most people SWAP sd card on CM10.. But i cannot work that out coz i want both external and usb sd card can be read by the system. I just hope someday it'll work like it should be like in cm9 or something.

When you press menu....then go to system>>storage......what information do you see for the extSD card?

Where you can see the used capacity and free capacity of the card, but underneath that you are being asked to mount a card...

[SOLVED] Is SD card usage wrong?

Hello,
I encrypted internal memory.
Following, I installed several apps and moved some to the SD card.
The SD card usage not increased and the internal memory not decreased. So, I suppose it was due to the fact that I had encrypted the internal memory.
So, I uncrypted it. But, the issues remains.
How to solve this, please?

Setting, General, Storage, tap on Cached Data. It will ask you to confirm deleting it. Tap OK. It will free up some space.

I doesn't help.
I did factory reset and formatted SD card.
The same issue remains.

Same here..
I found that the "moved to SD" apps were being moved to /mnt/asec which might be only a partition inside the ROM.
The external sd card is named as extSdCard and there is a "sdcard" that is actually a partition in the ROM.

Hello,
I did contact Samsung Support and used Smart Tutor.
"Move to SD" create the folders at SD card but doesn't move the files.
Even if you move the files manually it doesn't work, for example Amazon Kindle.
IT'S A BUG !!!

can I use sth like "directorybind", "foldermount"...
I'm using Link2SD Plus on my Xperia but I myself didn't like it

I use foldermount (pro version) to move several big folders to the external SD and it works like a charm on my T320.

I don't use the apptosd feature, I suggest installing link2sd its much better at moving the whole app to the external sdcard, and it just puts a link in the systems folders. Also I recommend buying the paid version of it as it will also move the data of the app as well

After read "The SDCard Bible for the Moto G 4G/LTE" (https://forums.motorola.com/posts/7e59cc7baf), I concluded I was wrong.
My UHS-I SanDisk Ultra® microSDHC™ 32 GB (SDSDQUA-032G) is working fine.
Feature "Move to SD card" is working fine, too.
