Is there a way to get ROM MANGER to default to the Internal "SD" card for backups? It always goes to my external card.
I know I can manually launch clockworkmod and select "internal SD" but I would rather do it from within the O/S so I can name the files.
you can always rename the files however you like with any file editor to rename them
and you can move the zip files around to either Internal SD or External SD
personally i like them on the External SD better to safe space on my Internal SD
I do that but like the convenience of doing it from the O/S. I thought I preferred the external as well until yesterday. The reason I want to do that is because when I tried doing a restore from the external it kept crashing. Seems my 32GIG card is flaky (as these cards can be) and I couldn't restore. I know it's the card because it restored fine from the internal SD. The internal ram, not being a "card" is much more reliable and now I am too skittish to use the external MicroSd for backups.
PM Koush or sent him an email for a feature request on his CWR
to let user pick where the backup are kept
I think I'm missing something!?
It looks like it's included already?

Well I'll be a son of a b .......... I tried MENU everywhere except from the main screen! Dohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Thanks for making me look foolish, I deserved it! But I don't feel that bad since Allgamer didn't recall either,
not exactly, i was thinking more in the area of Letting you select a Folder you like.
i do know of the internal vs. external option
that's why i said i like it to be on the external by default a few messages above
ideally we should be able to pick a folder to keep all that stuff, i'll like to point it to a folder called "ROMs" for example in the root of /sdcard/
instead of the default
(titanium backup just recently added that feature, well more like they improved it)

So, as you see here the applications i`m RESTORING using Titanium Back up aren`t being installed on the App2SD ext but rather they are all going to the Internal Memory then i moved them (one by one) to the SD but the internal memory is still the same and the SD partition decreases but the ext partition stays as empty as ever,,,, So can anyone help me?
Note: i WIPED everything before installing MIUI!! ("Wipe data/factory reset")
There is none :] I emulate it with a Folder i've put into the dock.
Miui places ALL applications on multiple pages on the device. There is no actual app drawer unless you place all apps into a folder and move it to the dock. Are you positive titanium backup was sucessfully installed? Try doing a reboot on the device.

oh and thanks for having the courage to deliver such news!! (God bless Android ... he was such an AWESOME OS and a lovely .... OS)
its not a bad thing actually
i had the same shock but then i just made a folder called apps and put all my apps in it and then attached it to my dock
now it looks like this
Any Dev who can help
Anyone HELP me guys i flashed a new ROM to get a free space and a fast phone!!!
Problem is still here!!
I think your question may be a bit specific for the 'Desire General' section.
I think MIUI specific questions are best off in the relevant 'Desire Android Development' threads.
Just a thought.
PS
I think there are several flavours for the App2/wherever of MIUI -you'll have to follow the threads to get the full picture.
Same thing
Did you select the option, ''Force move to same location'' or something in Titanium preferences?
I too had the same problem when i was trying out a MIUI based rom. I thought it was a problem with the A2SD or something. So i reinstalled the rom, manually installed all my apps using appbrain and it was ok. The apps mostly went to A2SD partition like its supposed to.
I think its something to do with Titanium itself.
I read on miui page to use in a terminal emulator:
su
a2sd cachesd
I solved by this way..
have a look there
my moms boyfriend has a rooted G2 using iceandfire 2.0 and earlier today he picked up his phone from the charger to find that it turned off by itself, he turned it back on and it stayed at
The htc screen, so I tried wiping the data to flash a new rom and it said can't mount such and such

Those errors are likely caused by a hardware error (bad internal memory chip): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039504
Hey rickyiswhite, I've experienced the same problem with my htc hd2. I am not hundred percent sure how and why this happened, but I managed to get my phone back to life. Here are two methods which I think might help you.
1. You might be missing 'initrid' and 'zImage' files in your sd card. You need these two files to flash new rom from your sd card otherwise the phone cant 'recognize' your sd card. You can find these two files from any rom you have downloaded, just copy and paste them into your sd card's root folder.
2. If this is not the case, I would recommend you to format your sd card (fat 32, i tried once to format my sd card to ntfs, and kind of destroyed it), and clear everything inside your phone using 'task29', which means you will lose everything stored inside your phone and sd card. Then you can uninstall and reinstall the HSPL (this might not be necessary, but I did that, just to make sure everything is cleared). Afterwards you just have to flash the radio and the magldr back. What's left now is to copy your rom into your sd card, remember to copy the 'initrd' and 'zImage' as well, and flash the rom, done!
However, I can't guarantee this would work because you know, different devices, so you have to take your own risk and responsibility to do this. FYI, you can also flash a new rom through computer, using the DFT.exe inside the rom. But currently most of the roms are flashed through magldr or clk, so it would take you some time to find the rom that can be flashed directly via computer.
Anyway, good luck to you, and hope these tips might help

I'm a little confused here with this one. I have all the contents of my sd card at 3 places. As you can see I have SDcard0 and emulated and inside emulated I have 2 folders 0 and legacy all 3 folders contain the same 55 items which are the contents of my SD. Which ones I have to delete? I have the same free storage as before so the files aren't duplicated.

They're symlinked, don't delete any of them.
Google has made a little bit of backward compatibility is all, it has the files where Google wants them, and then has places they've previously been linked to that so that old programs don't break and the files still go where they belong.
This stuff is just symlinked behind the scenes. Just use /sdcard as allways, which will show all the files as well.
And no it has nothing to do with support for legacy apps(as mentioned these allways just refer to /sdcard). This has to due with the addition of multiple users on Android tablets, and hench the filesystem will need to make place for several storages with one for each account.(with you being the only user, number 0 in this case)
And no do not touch any of them..
Well... the symlinking was in there long before 4.2, it's on every data media device since Honeycomb. It does serve the function of legacy app control, or more accurately, it serves the function of making data media devices compatible with SDcard devices. It seems Google is putting it to further use by having multi-user symlink /sdcard to the /data section that belongs to the current user.

EDIT: sorry this was kind of off topic. The short answer being that it's like that for a variety of reasons and it's ok for it to do that.
Thanks for the replies. so if i change something to any of these folders the other 2 will change as well?

Hey guys
I've searched around a lot for this but haven't found anything that helps me...Basically recently my phone has been telling me that there is around ~520mb free left on internal storage.
Here's some pics from "Storage" and from the StorageAnnilyser app.

Everything I have (pictures, etc) is stored on my external SD, so I really don't know what is clogging up my internalSD at this point...
Also, I have made two CWM backups, which are not showing up in either internalSD/Clockworkmod, or on my externalSD/Clockworkmod as I have it set to.
Any ideas where they can be found?
Any help would be appreciated...
Thanks guys,
Elliott
Bump
Did you check under TWRP. That would be the place your backup would go to with the newer TWRP recovery.
I'm using CWM.
Use a root explorer and browse to /data/Lost+found if it's packed, delete everything
Empty but thanks...any other ideas?

Could try Diskusage from play store. It gives a little bit more info of what files are taking up space. Can be set to scan Internal/SD and if you have root, even the main directory. (personally never used the root scan) It reminds me of a pc app called Windirstat. It will even allow you to delete files straight from the app.
I actually just ran into this same problem myself last week. In your storage analyser app (the same one i use btw) change the path its looking at to the /data partition (the pie chart button). If it is as i suspect your lost+found folder is probably brimming with junk file fragments. This folder is protected even beyond normal root elevations and doesn't show the files contained within. I was able to use File Manager! from the play store, change the permissions on the folder and delete some of the junk but there were still some that it couldn't delete for some reason. I deleted the contents of the folder using the file manager in TWRP which supersedes the permissions on the folder, in CWM you can probably do the same with the AROMA file manager http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952862. Its probably worth mentioning im using an AOSP based ROM and the permissions may be different in TW.
Thanks guys.
Disk usage worked great for me in ways that storage analyser never did.
I found my CWM backups in the root directory of my phone (not even in internal storage). I moved/deleted a bunch of them and problem solved...
Don't know why the backups are saved there but whatever...going to be saving to external storage from now on (where I thought they were being saved originally)

You did notice that your 3rd screenshot shows only one backup, right?
The same screenshot shows: (click here to change). Use that to select one of three options to possibly try to get synced to where the actual backups are. Think of the alternatives as permission choices. If you see this "This folder does not have write permission", you can't select that location- it may even be hid if it's on your micro sdcard that you're trying to sync TB to but there's no write permission allocated there.
Ultimately, you may have to move those backups to a folder you create with the 2nd option with TB. I'd suggest you have those backed up on PC to prevent loss; the TB prompted move process is dysfunctional for me. You may have success with simply creating the folder with TB and then copying the backups there.
Marshmallow has limited the access and write privileges. Maybe it's PE1 security update that changed but manage with what you can by moving to favorable location.
I've read posts suggesting /Android/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup will allow TB to protect backups but unless the path includes /mnt/media_rw, didn't work for me. Mine is /mnt/media_rw/sdcard volume name/Android/data/com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup/.
If Titanium Backup creates a folder, it will have the owner and permissions it needs to save and read the backups.

Looks like your backups got wiped. Mine have been wiped multiple times unfortunately. I have mine on my external SD card and it's still happened. From what I can tell, when the app points to the backup location and is uninstalled it'll remove all of the backups too. I never uninstall apps before flashing something new but I have a feeling when I used Odin it played some magic and poof went the backups because that is the only time they ever vanish. In fact the com.keramidas folder mentioned above that I make myself gets removed also.

My backups are in my SD card and internal trying to see if it makes a difference but in both locations it still don't recognize them even though they are there
I have old backup folders and they appear with no problem
It might be that folder or something as that's the only that don't show up
