Hello dear members, I bricked my Samsung M820 Prevail, it now in bootloop, just show SAMSUNG at start up then reboots, the brick occurs when I modified NV items, well the facts are:
I can put it in download mode then use Samsung Odin to flash all (Boot, PDA, Phone) without problems but again after reboot enters in bootloop
The recovery mode (volume up + power) don't work.
I'm sure that can revert brick if know how to communicate with the phone in download mode to access NV items (EFS partition), but unfortunately CDMA Workshop or QPST can't communicate with the phone in download mode...
Exist a program that can communicate with the phone using Odin protocol to access partitions (EFS) ? maybe a way to backup EFS with odin then modify it and flash it back to the phone?
I know exactly what NV item caused the problem (NV item 1878), I only need to change it, but my phone stuck in download mode... any ideas greatly appreciated !
Thank you.
Maybe I can flash with odin a modified bootloader that can skip NV items, then phone boot to OS then I can enable DM ? or maybe a bootloader that redirect the boot to the SD card to enable DM ? ... ok, ok, it's difficult, but who knows...
Can someone share a prevail backup of EFS (efs.rfs or CDMA.rfs) then I will modify it with my own parameters than flash it to the phone with odin...
I don't know what to do ! the easy way is get another phone but I prefer the challenge... let me know. Thanks.

Hi, I was flashing a custom ROM and suddenly I lost my IMEI. I don't have EFS backup. I've tried restoring to stock, flashing modems, but nothing works.
Any ideas? Or is it completely impossible?
Try with imei changer and change it to number which u got on ur phone box or receipt. Idk it works but try this too.

Same problem!
If your phone boots up (beyond the logo) you can use Samsung Kies,
1. Install Kies, which will install all necessary drivers.
2. Put phone into download mode, and connect to pc via usb
3. In Kies, go to Tools
4. Select Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation option
5. Enter phone model name (use all capital letters)
6. Enter Serial Number (its in phone battery compartment)
7. Then, just let the process run to completion.
I regained imei, baseband and restored phone back to stock
Hope this helps.
Try this out, if u get success then plzz tell me:

I tried with Kies with no results. I tried that tutorial but NV writer doesn't recognize the phone because Windows doesn't fully recognized the phone in diag mode.
Any other help?
EDIT:
Also followed the 9 steps recovery of EFS but I have no bak or .nv_data files.
EDIT 2:
With Xposed I can set the proper IMEI successfully but it doesn't make any calls either.

you are probably not lucky, so the last chance is to give it to phone service, so they flash it with some box and restore it to fully functional device
OK thanks.
[TuT]-How to unlock Samsung Smartphones FRP/FAP boot lock without "Loosing your data"
How to reset FRP-Lock without Loosing your Data
HII..Guyss...
I am Nishant ...here to help you with your FRP-Locked Samsung Devices..
Now from hereby:- I am not Responsible if you gone Rabbit and done something wrong to your device
CAUSE:-
Actually this is beacuse you have flashed with custom binaries..
Custom binaries are like:-Custom Recovery(TWRP,CWM,SuperSU) or any other custom binaries that is not official.
Now these custom binaries modify boot sectors of your smartphone..
and these changes were not detected by your smartphone UNTIL and UNLESS you Turn off OEM-UNLOCK from DEVELOPER option..Result:-when you turn "OEM-UNLOCK to Off" OEM-LOCK will be enabled and on your next reboot (it also happens by mistake when you switch you developer option "switch")
OEM-Lock prevent your smartphone from booting with custom binaries...NOW,
.neither you can boot your phone nor you can access in Recovery-mode to wipe and reset..
and that prevent smartphone from booting with any custom binaries inside it..
So,
what now,if you know something about flashing than u have no choice offcourse either flash your smartphone with odin or you have to give it to
Samsung service center to make it work..which means loss of all your DATA (except extSdCard)
but,
I am here to solve your problem.. without Loosing a bit data of yours so, Follow me..
Solution:
1:-first download either your stock Firmware(I am not telling you to Flash your whole android smartphone).
Or...Manage to get your stock Boot.img and recovery.img file from anywhere on the web it is packed inside "your-Firmware.tar.md5" file
if you get your Boot and recovery.img file then skip to step 3
2:- Dwnloaded your firmware files now extract it using 7zip somewhere and copy out boot.img and recovery.img
3:- Download .img-to-tar from below and convert them from .img to .tar.md5 (odin-Flashable file)..
4:- Now first flash recovery.tar.md5 from odin to your smartphone.
5:-Secondly Flash boot.tar.md5 to your smartphone..
The Above Steps will reset your boot and recovery to stock version
Done......
Again its your Buddy Nishant...:good::good: ........enjoyy your FRP unlock
"Dont forget to turn on OEM-Unlock from developer option.."
.
The title of your thread should be "How to fix Samsung Phones which get stuck on Samsung logo with "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock" Cause your title means how to remove frp not how to solve the stuck problem ..
Thank you
This thread is for those who have troubles but have no idea what to try. If you're new in playing with Android Roms, you'd better read this. No exact operation would be introduced here, because only directions are provided and further work should be searched by yourself as I'm not Mr. Knowall.
Here, trouble means problems except the cases you can boot to system (they're issues) or hardware damage. Make sure your phone has been charged or any battery related problem is considered to hardware side.
Besides, if you are holding a T-Mobile H932, you should be extremely careful with anything below, because any mistake may push your phone into hell. Especially, there is currently no usable 9008 firehose file for it even you ask a professional repairman.
First, backup everything important regularly to a secure place instead of phone storage, especially private files and EFS partition which contains IMEI, MEID, etc. If possible, write down the IMEI, MEID, S/N, WiFi MAC address, Bluetooth MAC address of your phone for potential future need of restoration.
Then I assume you have unlocked bootloader. If not, go to (WTF...!) LG V30/V30+/V30S Bootloader Unlock & Root Method (With Clear Instructions) when you can still boot to system. If you cannot boot to system already with bootloader locked and cannot perform unlocking introduced there, maybe you can jump to the section of download mode or 9008 mode and give it a trial, BUT I CANNOT ensure your phone would return normal.
There are four important modes related to our topic: Recovery, Fastboot, Download and Qualcomm 9008 (Preload for MTK). Risky and inconvenience is increasing in order. Read this: Collection of mode entries with hardware key combination (maybe for most LG models) to learn how to enter them without booting to system.
Recovery is stored in the partition with the same name. You need custom builds like TWRP or OrangeFOX to flash in, or you only have a stock one with the single function of master reset. For most cases, if you can enter all the four modes, use this first. Make a backup before flashing anything with Rec, and if the thing you flashed in leads to bootloop or anything abnormal, you can easily get the original partitions back. But if you performed incorrect operations and such a restoration doesn't work, you should consider wipe cache, dalvik cache and data (backup if not yet). If not work still, try to flash in fresh rom packages. If not work again, go to the section of download mode.
Fastboot is mainly used to flash in some partitions like recovery, boot and unlock. There is some limitations that many partitions cannot be flashed in here. If you have never used this mode before, you may need to manually update the corresponding driver on your computer (caution that if you're facing the problem of "waiting for device", it's usually driver issue). Some firmwares miss this function, so it's often recommended to switch firmware for custom rec installing.
Download mode is mostly used to deal with kdz files. You need LG phone driver and dev patched LGUP (or some other tools with similar functions). If LGUP cannot recognize a phone already in download mode, it's usually the problem of driver or LGUP patcher. Be careful when using LGUP. If any interrupt during the process of downloading firmware, you need go to 9008 mode. Do not use chiperase unless you know what to do after that. Here again dump can backup partitions. Refurbish and partition dl are most widely used. This mode can solve most troubles unless you cannot enter here. If that really happens, move on to the ultimate mode, 9008.
9008 is the last chance before sending your phone to repair. Only recommend to recover other modes, but if you're familiar with it, you can do almost everything in this mode as in other modes. Again driver and tool are needed. Recommend QPST since it's made by Qualcomm, but it's not released publicly. Search and download from some reliable sources. The driver needed should be contained in the package with the tool. Somebody may tell to use QFIL, but if you have not installed it please install QPST and use the built-in QFIL instead of a standalone one, or problems would probably find you. To use this mode, you need the corresponding firehose file. See this: LG V30 Unbrick guide (Qualcomm EDL 9008 Mode, Hardbirck, with no download mode) for file download (none for H932 yet). You do not need XML file if the partition table is not broken. To verify it, open QFIL built in QPST, set configuration to UFS mode, open Tools -> Partition Manage and see if it's correctly displayed. If yes, only flash in partitions related to bootloader and recovery to get other modes back. The partitions can be found in twrp flashable stock firmware or early backups, or you can extract from kdz using LG firmware extractor. Only the worst damage to storage needs full download with XML generated from kdz using extracting tools.
If all modes above cannot save your phone, you may consider hardware damage and that needs professional knowledge, so our forum cannot help.
Good luck.
Hey there, so I was playing a game PubG in which in the middle of a match the screen got stuck. I waited for 10 mins for it to go back and tried locking the screen with power button but nothing happened. When I long pressed it closed for a second then restarted and got stuck on bootscreen with only mi logo and no animation. Now it isn't switching off it gets rebooted to the same screen again. Only fastboot is opening. I don't want to lose my personal data there photos, videos that includes all my college life. If I try to flash it I think I will lose all data. Also I didnt backup all the data on mi cloud or anywhere. Please help me.
Also in flashing if I select the option 'save user data' will my data be saved?

Is your bootloader unlocked?
If you only want to back up your music, photos, videos, documents etc. , flash twrp recovery then boot into it (power+vol up about 11s). Connect your phone to PC. Then copy all data you need to save. Then reboot to fastboot and do a clean flash (clean all).
If you either want to back up the application data, do the previous operation without flashing first, and then do a "dirty" flash (save user data). At this time, your phone should be able to boot, use the BACKUP app to back up all your application data and copy it to your computer. The backup file seems to be stored in /storage/emulated/ 0/MIUI/backup, I don't remember it well.
After backing up all data you needed to save, you'd better do a clean flash using fastboot method. Make sure you choose "clean all".

Re: Prakharpathak
I'm sorry because I can't save a phone that have a locked bootloader. If you wish to try Qualcomm QDLoader9008, maybe it will not work. Xiaomi has locked the 9008 port for their phones. Unless you have an authorized Mi account to get the verify token and send the authentitation tag to your phone, or the phone will reject all flashing commands. QPST is not working. The only difference is that the bootloader can be unlocked, but the 9008 requires authorization every time.
If you want to try the force unlock bootloader tool, once the force unlock is successful, you will lose all your data. Unless you can erase the recovery partition before the bootloader send a wipe command to Mi-recovery. In other words, if the recovery partition is erased or the recovery is not stock recovery (like twrp, etc) , unlocking the bootoader will not lose any data. Twrp does not accept the wipe command from the bootloader.
[edit]Now we have working firehose programmer could be used. Use QFIL to dump your userdata.

my bootloader is locked but i am ready to lose all my data , can you please tell me how can i boot my device
Re: @jagannath287
If this is also useful for you @Prakharpathak , you can also try.
If you are ready to lose all your data, you can try to use Mi PC Suite. Offical link of MI PC SUITE:
http://pcsuite.mi.com
You must be able to boot into Mi-Recovery, otherwise my solution will not help you.
Download the recovery ROM for your phone. Note that you can't upgrade or downgrade the OS version using this method.
After downloading and installing the Mi PC Assistant application on your computer, run it and login to your MI account. Then select FLASH ROM section and connect your device to your PC. Make sure your device is booted into Mi-recovery and selected “Connect with MiAssistant”.
Warning: you can't downgrade/change ROM region (you can only install the same area version to your phone, like MI-MI, RU-RU, EEA-EEA, etc) using this method.
Make a full wipe for your phone and select the RECOVERY ROM package: fast update and agree with full wipe. Then wait for the data erasing is fully done. After you see “Checking zip file update” and if all ok, the flashing progress will start and you will see the flashing is in progress. At last, you will see the window with successfully flashing. In theory, the phone will reboot to system automatically. The first start will take about 10 minutes. Be patient and wait the welcome screen.
There is another MI PC SUITE version that I found and I attach with my post. There is also a XiaomiADB flashing program.
Alternative method:
Download the adb driver and install it on your computer. Use the XiaomiADB full-auto flash program to flash your phone.
Select “Connect with MIAssistant” in the recovery and connect the phone to PC.
Make sure the recovery ROM zip file and XiaomiADB flashing program that in same folder. For start flashing just HOLD zip ROM AND DRUG IT TO THE XiaomiADB. After this command your DATA will be reset! You lost all files and Settings on your device.
At last, I suggest you to unlock the bootloader for your phone as soon as possible and flash your phone using MiFlash in fastboot mode in order to avoid facing mysterious bugs. A phone that have an unlocked bootloader is easy to save (unbrick) or backup all data from the phone without booting into system.

Xiaomi has locked the 9008 port for their devices.
Can you flash and boot into TWRP recovery?
Can your phone boots into fastboot?
Did you try to flash every partition manually?
Did you try to flash the oldest version--V9.5.19?

You'd better create a new thread otherwise we will disturb the original author of this thread (Prakharpathak).
Did you mean the returned message from your phone is like this:
Sending "recovery"...
OKAY. Total time: 4.016s
Writing "recovery"...
FAILED<remote: Permission Error>
finished. Total time: 4.016s
In theory, the fastboot won't return this message and the USB debugging switch has no relation with fastboot flashing.
All partitions can't be flashed and return the "permission error" message?
Can you take a photo of the flashing error message?
[edit] Now we have working programmer and you could do all you want via EDL.

I am currently facing a similar situation.
My device redmi note 5 pro was running on miui 11 and suddenly its screen froze and then it got restarted and stuck at mi logo. It has locked bootloader and I can't access the stock recovery but I can access fastboot mode. I tried flashing different miui versions with different flash tools and everytime the process starts then after 9 seconds I get the error "ack count doesn't match". I tried flashing with edl point method as well and with a patched firehose file to bypass mi authentication but still got the same error. Can you please help me? I searched around the net and I can't find anything related to this particular error I am getting. I would really appreciate if you can help.

I tried to flash orange fox recovery but bootloader is locked and no fastboot commands working. I have tried mi unlock flash tool to unlock bootloader but error is comming "couldn't unlock more devices by this account this month" on official tool and on unofficial tool error is "current account is not bounded to this device". I cannot add device to this account since phone is into bootloop and wanted to save data. Is there any way to unlock bootloader and get access to storage data?

I tried using the XDA Discord server to get a quick response, but apparently, some people just ignore me or don't even know how to help me. So I will try here...
I was following that tutorial so that I can use Joycon Droid on my phone. I installed TWRP Recovery and gone in his recovery mode. I wiped what the tutorial asked to wipe and began the flash process. Unfortunately, I mistakenly downloaded the flash files on the computer. I tried removing my SD Card and putting inside it the files I need, but TWRP was not able to read any data for the SD Card. So I tried to find a way to cancel the recovery menu, and I did by clicking Reboot System. Since then, my phone was locked in the logo screen. After many attempts, I've gone from the charging screen and finished by the "An error occurred while updating the device software.". I can enter the download mode, but nothing else. My phone is an A520W and I think the root was not properly installed. I researched everywhere without any solution, so I came to this discord server, hoping someone would save my phone. I tried flashing the official A520W OS, but Odin always does a FAIL message or freezes. I later tried to use another firmware file, reinstalled the Samsung USB driver and Odin, and know it says on the Download Mode screen:
SV REV. CHECK FAIL(BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 9, BINARY 7. (it failed)
Can someone help me? I really need help!
Your phone partition table is crushed probably!
Use emmc programmer to repairing your partitions! (ask from someone expert)
Also, "easy-jtag" may be useful(search this)

It is dangerous for your phone, because every phone have different partition table and different architecture!
Pit file in a520w stock firmware have partition table structures information. (use PIT_Magic.exe to see)
In old architecture of Samsung(e.g. s3) when partition table cleaned from emmc (phone internal storage), they use micro sdcard to boot from it! (to identity correct info for Odin) (same boot from USB when you are installing windows.) then by going to download mode they flash stock Rom!
But I suggest to you find one knows enough information and requirements stuffs.
