Hi guys
I just bought my htc one x
And today i would like to install custom rom, so i wanted to unlock my bootloader(HTC Dev website) as i did for my previous sensation xe.
But when i research on the internet about unlocking the bootloader, I saw people are using different methods.
Now i would like to clarify whether i can use the HTC Dev website to unlock my bootloader or i should do something else to unlock it.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I want to root and S-Off my phone to use CM7 on my HDH.
Everywhere I look, I got forwarded to : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=952352
But all is gone there. Post was changed 2 days ago.
My question:
- How to Root and S-off my Phone?
- Is it a problem that it is unlocked via HTCdev.com?
- DHD on 2.3.5? A problem?
Thanks for the help.

You should relock your bootloader before using the hack kit. I think...

Googled a bit and found this site:
pocketpc.ch/htc-desire-hd-root-rom/143829-anleitung-desire-hd-root-s-off-fuer-alle-firmware-versionen.html
It's in german, but at the end of the thread (above the pictures) is a downlaod,
thats working including manual etc.
Just downloaded it, haven't tried it yet,
since I'm not home where all my SD-Cards are

using an old version of the kit might mess your bootloader, as in the first version froyo RUU's were used. Make sure that u use the last version of it.....just a tip: follow my signature...
@glevitan: got it thanks - will try that at home
Found this on his Twitter (@attn1), it is the link to his own website where he has the latest version. Not sure if I'm allowed to post it but if not mods please remove the link.

I searched the google and the unlocking required an app named "sgs unlocker" but there is no free version in the market, plesse help me through
Btw i must add the phone shows TMOBILE logo when it starts and it came with a tmobile sim do when i pop the tmobile sim the phone starts normally, my other sim won't work on the phone
Rooting will give you simunlock. However, there is no guarantee it will work for all carriers. There are some it does not work with.

Google for a website that sells them.
You bought it in the uk, did you buy it from amazon uk or any online service? Contact the seller to see if he can help you.
I don't know what you mean by booting method.
Right now, all I can say is google is your friend.

Yes. Use the ace hack kit only to unlock/root your phone. Do not use any other method. You can flash anything in the dev section. Read the op (first page) before flashing. It will list what works and what bugs are listed.

As I know, all Dhd can be rooted by AAHK you must only follow the instructions.
As for me, the best ROM we have today for our device is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778202 there are few bugs only, but not critical for me If you want the ROM with Sense, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792074 but this ROM works more slowly

Not sure what you mean about having in app purchases?
Try this video, took me 10 seconds to find using the search function. It contains all the info you need on rooting your phone.
You should really use the search function though as there are MANY threads on rooting the One X.
Posts like these usually get deleted or closed down.

Better to have too much info than not enough though.
Just take your time and research before you attempt it. You'll find it easy after the first time. Have fun!
I had followed this thread when I first rooted my HOX.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904
It's pretty simple once you have read it twice!
Its very easy:
1-first you should unlock your device using htc dev.
2-installing a custom recovery. (cwm is a good choice)
3-installing superuser zip from recovery.

In General, yes. The steps to turn s off are a bit different though because verizon does not allow you to unlock the bootloader through htc Dev website. If you need help rooting/s off, google is your friend.

No problem! Most ROMs will say somewhere that it works with all carriers but it's smart to check just in case.
Have fun
