Hello,
I just had my phone unlocked tonight by Alejandrissimo
Well worth the $. Very fast and easy.
I managed to flash kernel fxp-cm9.img and boot into recovery. I had downloaded 0607-cm9-zues**.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24652511#post24652511
And attempted to flash via instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508585 And got an error assert failed: **bunch of getprop stuff*** (Status 7) Installation aborted.
Now, from scowering I have deduced that I should have been using a different rom so I've got FXP134-cm-9-2. Zip from the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447542 thread. But I can't seem to access the mass storage when mounting in CWM (v5.5.0.4) to copy the new rom. But correct me if I'm wrong my phone probably wont boot with that kernel on stock rooted rom will it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried looking around quite a bit.
Okay, so got the 134 on the SD via computer, but still get the same results. Any suggestions?
Solved, just had to delete some lines from update-script Now running cm9

Alright, so the search keeps telling me that it is down and i have looked everywhere to no avail for two days. I am very new at this, so forgive me.
I have been trying to install cm6 but i keep getting the following message:
assert failed: getprop("ro.bootloader") == "0.76
.2000"
E:Error in /sdcard/update-cm-6.0.0-Supersonic-RC
2-signed.zip
(Status 7)
Instllation aborted
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And actually the only rom I've been able to install this far is evo no-sense.
You need to flash a new boot loader. Go into my profile and look at threads I posted, there is a post I did where I had the same issue. GL

Woot! I knew the answer would be too easy, but thank you. I am now running cyanogen!
Ok n/m search function won't let you. Here it is, I am assuming you rooted using the unrevoked, now your hboot is set to something along the lines 0.96.2000, the problem is you need to have 0.76.2000 in order to flash cm6. The way you do that is download the pcmimg for the boot loader, heres how:
You are going to need to find the thread titled eng bootloader. There is a zip file in there that includes all the radios and the correct hboot. DL that zip file on your computer. Then drag and drop file onto SD card of phone. Do a nand backup and then reboot into bootloader screen. It will say new image found do you want to install? Hit yes. Let it run and then reboot into boot loader. Your bootloader should now read the correct version. It will ask to install image again, hit no. Reboot into recovery and flash new rom. Once this is done you can removethe file from your SD, however I would keep it on your computer.
Hope this helps.
Great, happy Modding!
Hey everyone thanks for taking the time to read this.
I'm trying to install CWM 5 on to my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830D.
It's running on Gingerbread 2.3.4.
I followed the guides to a 'T' and still can't figure this out.
I put the zipped file onto my SD card. When I go to install the file the installation aborts.
I've retried this process over and over again with no luck. I also tried to root my phone and I have the same problem.
Installation aborts..
The error it gives me is this: E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip .
I tried downloading the CWM 5 zip from other websites with no luck still.
My goal is to install the CyanogenMod 7.2 for Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830.
Thank you in advance for anyone who has read this and replied to help me fix this problem.
Cheers,
Brem.

to install CWM use Odin not recovery mode from your phone recovery mode is good to flash signed packages like updates from manufacturer you get error because that zip package containing CWM is self-signed anyway it fails because is not signed by Samsung so use default/stock recovery mode only to flash official updates -if you get one
look here for a howto guide
Hey guys!
So I finally decided to take the leap and install CM9.1
I rooted my phone and installed the "fake" recovery from x-parts.
Then I proceded to flash CM9 baseband for my phone,
then flashing the kernel, boot into recovery and then flash CM9.1 from my sd-card
Problem is I'm getting status 7 when I try to install it!
I checked around the forum and came across this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818280
I'm getting the same lines as the guy there says;
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="LT18i""
What do I do now?
Help would be appreciated!

thought I read them all (that's why I came here), will continue reading
thanks
I started posting on a thread in the general section but think it is better suited over here. I apologize for the double post but thought it would get more eyes with a suggestion on it over here.
I was running a Stock ROM, rooted and unlocked 4.1.1. I have not been able to update to 4.1.2. I tried using CWM, TWRP, stock recovery and ODIN. CWM and TWRP give an error and won't install the update. I completely reflashed to stock and downloaded the OTA using the stock method. It tries to udpate and stops. After restarting it gives a message that the update was interupted.
I have tried installing the update through stock recovery with the file on the external SD card and the following message appears.
The other message that comes up when trying to update through stock recovery is
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/Facelock.apk", :c0c83a8c5d02786abed70758022dce17e1fb3a6f", "1bel1a17f8063aba12220a38a38caa7b3382ec96bbeb")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
Flash stock rooted 4.1.2 in cwm or twrp, you can find it in room development, you need to flash modem and firmware first which you will find in loser skaters first post of stock rooted 4.1.2
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
It sounds like your stock Rom is rooted. Unroot and try again. Same thing happened top me this morning as i did the update.zip again for a project. Unrooted with SuperSU and then it ran like normal. Don't forget to back up your internal sd, as it will be wiped in the process
You can just flash the already rooted 4.1.2?
Unless you want to download it from att? Wouldn't make sense to me.

I had similar problem, but the error was with bootanimation. I found my original file and put it where the update was looking for it. I am willing to bet that the Facelock.apk is not in /system/app or there is a problem with that file.
Hello! I am new to the site so please be serious! Ok, so here's the problem: I rooted my Galaxy Nexus from Verizon to install CyanogenMod 11, Once I got the rom onto my phone I entered recovery using TWRP Recovery, then I tried to install the rom. After that it failed and I can't remember why, but I was being stupid and clicked the format sd card button and bricked my device. Now I'm trying to flash the rom again through ADB and Windows sends the .zip file to the phone, then while trying to install it gives the error of "E: Error executing updater binary in zip" and I cannot figure out a way to fix it. I need help as soon as possible and it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Nobody? Nobody has had this issue or a solution?

as long as you can get to the bootloader see this thread to return to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/how-to-return-to-stock-galaxy-nexus-t1626895
