So finally got it worked on Verizon prepaid. Can say it works perfect, perhaps first day, 3G works well.
In that case I have a few questons.
If I flash new Kernel, will it affect on my Verizon service at sprint's L710?
In total what I MUST NOT flash to keep Verizon working on my phone?
How dis you flash it to verizon prepaid?
Same way like to Boost or others with donored Verizon ESN it works well.
As for Tutorial, I'm not a specialist in that question but can help to write it if there are few sources.
Assuming it's like every other flashed service providers, flashing roms and kernels will not affect anything except maybe your ability to send mms. Just don't do a ##786# factory reset using a touchwiz rom because that will clear out your MDN/MSID and AAA Hex keys.
There's no way I'd be on Verizon for their 3g.

just tell me how can i get it? what software I need?
i have qpst 2.7 b 378;
qxdm 03.12.714
dfs 4.0.0.4
can't figure out how to connect phone to it.. put phone to debugging, and soft doesn't recognize it
You should try dfs. It connects to the gs3. I'm) poking for the settings to change. Sort of a step by step. There are plenty for cricket and boost. Just in can't find any for Verizon. I'm sure the steps are similar in just need the specific strings to put in.

Yes it connects.
Well, if you tell me where to look into DFS i'll provide you settings that you need.
In dfs look in Ports->diagnostic
I'm not sure we can post this stuff on xda. I know the guides have been deleted before.

Sorry, didn't see.
Well yesterday everything was good on 3g, but when I flashed CM10 I lost data connection, now I come back to stock but there is still some issues with data and Sprint icon appearing, sometimes I get 67 Error Registration to sprint failure.
I checked ##data, there is a lot of settings belong to Sprint. Also now i noticed that 3g speed too slow, i tried speedtest and got 120 down/150 up via speedtest, its not what I got yesterday before CM10. Also phone sometimes looses connection. Think something went wrong while I flashed CM10 or that guy didnt set all proper settings.
Averything txt/call/data work, but some issues I still have to solve...
Does somebody have some info what alse to change in settings?
Ill just stick to Speint instead of going thru all of that trouble to get prepaid.

I flashed my Epic Touch to Virgin and now I pay $55 instead of $110 and get same service because Virgin is owned by Sprint and uses same towers

No I did not. Cause I have no AAA/HA codes.
Also I can't flash zeros to SPC that's why I have no possibility to flash it over the air to Verizon.
No luck so far. I have done everything but i have the roaming sign. I cant make a call or text. Can you maybe post a screenshot of your tabs in dfs? I figure that would be easier than typing your values. When i try to make a call i get the verizon operator only. Im did not flash a verizon radio or anything. Not sure if thay matters.

Hi everyone,
So, I've got an interesting issue, and I realize that it is likely my fault. I was flashing various ROM's (CM10, CM9 etc) on the phone, and eventually when I put the stock ROM back on, I was only able to connect on "EDGE". I called Rogers and they said my account checked out. So, I did more ttroubleshooting, and in that I noticed that my IMEI was set to "0". So, I found a guide on here to re-add the IMEI using QPST and I was able to get back on 3G, but no 4G/LTE. After rebooting and some time passed, I am now on 4G, but no LTE and this is my issue. Before you say 4G is LTE, I tend to want to disagree. I used to get LTE, and I did see it pop up once since I fixed the phone, but the phone crashed and i wasn't able to test it with LTE running. Since then, I haven't seen it again. I also ran the "Phone Info" app, and if I set it to LTE only, I never get a data connection, even after rebooting, pulling battery etc.
Why I think 4G is not LTE is because when I ran speedtests before I broke my phone, I was getting 28MB down, and 8-10MB up. now, I'm lucky if I'm getting 1MB down and .2MB up. I have once gotten 4MB down, and .8MB up, but this is WELL below LTE speeds that I've had in the past.
I'm hoping someone might be able to help me get back to a 100% clean, stock ROM, modem, firmware etc. I have installed 2 different stock ROM's that I found for the Rogers i747m; one is ~700MB, the other is 1.2GB. Both have the same issue with 4G only. I've also flashed the stock Rogers modem, and still no luck.
Any help would be appreciated, but here are some specific questions if you can help.
Does anyone have screenshots of their stock "about" page, and the "status" page in the phone menu?
Does anyone have a bone stock "complete" firmware/ROM for the Rogers i747?
Is there anything I can do to fix this on my current ROM (stock)?
Thank you!
Here are the threads I've reviewed and followed to try and resolve the issue.

So, here's something a bit more interesting. Just before bed last night, I caught my phone on the LTE network. I tried loading a few pages/apps, but nothing was working. AFter about a minute, I lost all data connection and it popped back up about 10 seconds later back on 4G and was working again. Not sure if this helps anything, but I did grab a screenshot when it was on LTE.
Anyone?

Thanks for that thread, but does anyone know why the person is removing the SIM and going through all that trouble when rebooting does the exact same thing?
I have used the #2263 menu to set my phone into LTE only mode, and I get no data connection, nor any cell connection either. Switch it back to Automatic and it jumps right back on 4G.
It is faster to remove the sim and enter *#2263# code lol. Once the sim is removed, a no sim notification should appear. Better than waiting for you phone to reboot.
I will post my lte apn setting for you. Hopefully that will help.

It could also be the modem... I have a link to a stock rogers modem. Just flash in recovery and you may have LTE again. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29517422&highlight=rogers#post29517422
Just fyi...
I also have a Rogers S3 and noticed that I am not getting the LTE icon on the notification bar after the first week. Now, I only get a 4G icon in GSM, HSDPA, LTE mode, and 3G/H+ in GSM, HSDPA mode.
However, with the 4G icon, I can still get speeds of 30Mbps down, 13 Mbps up, and under System Information, it shows LTE in Network Type.
My conclusion was that dont rely on the icon in the notification bar. Check the system information page to see the actual network type.
The only time I can get the LTE icon to actually show when I am connected to the LTE network instead of the 4G icon is through re-flashing the ROM. I have tried clearing the cache through recovery menu and it still wont work.
I know this doesnt solve your issue, but I hope this will help anyone that stumble across this problem.
Cheers
Thanks for posting all of that. My APN settings are the same, except the APN type. Mine is set to "Internet + MMS". If I change it, I am prompted with a menu to choose from and the settigns on yours are not in the list. Basically it has the folllwing list:
Internet + MMS + DUN
Internet + MMS
Internet + DUN
INternet
MMS
DUN
Also, flashing the Rogers Modem was probably one of the first things I did. I thought that would have been most likely.
My mobile Network type is UMTS:3 and I am definately not getting LTE speeds. I've heard people say that they only see the 4G icon, but get LTE speeds, but I'm only getting about 5down, and less than 1 up. I say that when I was on another ROM, it showed 4G, but seemed much quicker. Now I'm just hosed.
Out of curiosity, under the system settings, what do you have listed for ERI Version and IMEI SV?
Thanks!
Any other ideas?
Mine show ERI Version: Not Available
IMEI SV:01
Hope that help you.
Side note: I also note that for reasons of economy of battery when I switch to GSM network and I want to return to the lte network, it takes a long time to show me the lte icon....it's seem to stuck a few minutes on the edge even if gsm/hspa/lte(auto mode) is selected.

I'm pretty sure I did that...but you have to use your own QCN to generate the new "injected" QCN. As far as I know, it doesn't generate one out of nothing. Unfortunately, I didn't have a QCN generated prior to breaking it. Now the "original" QCN I have is "broken" so when I inject it, it's injecting into a broken QCN.
Something I was curious about doing was getting another Rogers S3 QCN (from a willing XDA member), modifying the IMEI and injecting that back into my phone. Not sure if that would break things, but it might be worth a shot. I'm pretty desperate at this point.
Anyone willing to send me their Rogers QCN, so I can replace the IMEI, and inject it into my phone? Worst case the phone blows up, best case I get LTE back, or just restore my current "broken" QCN.
Thanks!
So...I am now fairly convinced that it actually is a hardware issue and not a software issue. I noticed that it was on LTE again (4th time in a week). I was outside walking my dog. I checked tosee if it was working, and out of shock it was! I then downloaded and ran speedtest...got 28down, 9.5 up. BAM!
Now, here's the kicker. I am in a zone where I've always had 4 bars of LTE, except now I can only get it outside. I checked the signal and it was at 62dbm. Walk inside my house, and it jumps to 87+ dbm and drops LTE. I've always had full LTE signal in my house, work, everywhere, now nothing. Based on this, I am certain that the antenna/radio is pooched. Now I have to either get it repaired or get a refurb...ugh. Giving up my month and a half old phone for a refurb really blows...
I am with Telus, and having the exact same problem (minus the IMEI thing).
I flashed to CM10, and my LTE stopped working. Went back to stock, and it's still not working.
Setting phone to LTE only gets me no signal.
I've tested it in Toronto, Mississauga, Barrie (all LTE capable) and nothing is working.
Apparently, it's an issue with the phone. Search Google for Galaxy S3 radio issues (or swap radio for signal) and there is tones of threads. I have a refurb phone coming from Rogers this week, and I'm gonna leave it at stock. Really sucks...but LTE is the bomb.
I read on one thread that Samsung is supposed to push a code fix for the modem, but that's from a bunch of people speculating on the issue. How true it is...time will tell. I'll post back if/when I get LTE back on the new phone.
So, I just got the new phone and LTE is back working everywhere it used to with full signal and full speed.
I hAve this now too...but it's just the icon as I am getting LTE speeds.
Might call Rogers too...
Hi,
I spent last night getting my t-mobile galaxy s4 to work on ATT. I did a lot of research on the subject and it wasn't that difficult at all. I bought the phone off of EBAY.
I was able to accomplish this from all of the tools here and a little research.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335109 (hopefully fixed link)
The first thing i did was root the phone and install CWM. I then used the sim unlock found in the link above. The next step i took (because i like custom roms on my phone) was to install TASK650's AOKP rom. I flashed the rom and followed his instructions.
After the restart, I went through the welcome screen and shut the phone down. I put my sim in and started the phone. I noticed i was getting the H, but no LTE. This led me to more research. The fix was easy once I found it. The APN needs to be pointed to the ATT phone option. It defaults to wap.cingular. After about 5 minutes and a reboot the LTE appeared and after the speed tests confirmed.
This is not a guide. I am just sharing my experience. If you do this please do your own research as you can do damage to your phone. There are risks involved, flash and modify your phone at your own risk.
Why are you posting the same thing here that you did in the att area?
actually i'm thankful that he posted it. I'm trying to accomplish the same thing and its good to know it works. I tried the unlock sim procedure and it didn't work, although I didn't follow the newer instructions, so I will try again.
also, your link seems to be broke

The AT&T APN's I have used in the past with success to get LTE are:
Name: ATT LTE
APN: pta
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MC: 310

Ohh, one other thing, not sure if it applies, but still... depending on what kind of phone you are coming from, you may have to call AT&T and have them tweak your data plan. I've seen reports that when coming from an iPhone to Android, you will still be on the iPhone data plan and unable to receive 4G/LTE.
Yes I am in a lte area I used to get it with my iphone all the time then I switched to a s3 changed the plan and got it with that now I have an unlocked s4 through tmobile

ok first of all you need to tone down the supersize font on your posts. second it's not really clear what you're asking to do. as long as your phone's cellular radio is on its going to continue looking for signals based on your roaming settings and prl. if you're asking about the number that yuor google voice account is setup to use, well then those settings need to be configured in your google account. did you port your phone number over to another carrier or did you just change phones with the same service provider (sprint)? be more specific on what youre trying to do.

I have this T989 unlocked and beeing used with local SIM in Central America, maybe the modem/radio is not full compatible with the local network because in a Building I can get 3 or 4 signal bars but when I send a SMS I get "SMS not send" message, and get "No Network Service" when trying a voice call, why is there 3-4 signal bars without Network Available? Phone come back to normal when I go to an open field. Maybe the T989 Modem/Radio is not as full compatibleas I9100 (international model) modem/Radio? May I flash I9100 Modem/Radio into T989?
First, if you flash that radio you could brick. Do not flash anything not made for your device.
If you're on Jelly Bean, or a higher custom rom version, only the latest T-Mobile or Telus radios will work. Nothing else.
Is likely that your apn settings are wrong or missing. You'll have to Google what your carrier apn settings are and check in mobile network settings.
Also, if your carrier bands aren't supported by the t989, there's nothing you can do... It won't work.
View my profile, I dare you. ?

And seeing "bars" is normal.... I have no Sim in mine and get bars.

Yep, I have no sim and see those " signal bars" all the time. I believe T-Mobile told me it was for 911 signal or something.

OK, T989 will only work with modem for T989.
Thank you both!
I jave a verizon note 10 plus. I want to switch to straight talk. The voice and text works but the mms and data do not. I tried to update the apn but unable to. Any insight to this?
Has Verizon unlocked it?

How long have you had the device? If less than 60 days you're going to have to call Verizon.
If over 60 days.
Which Straight Talk SIM did you use? If I remember correctly, Straight Talk includes different SIMs for each network in its packaging.
You may need to call Straight Talk.

They did not unlock it and I've had it over a year. They have a verizon sim that can make and receive calls and text. We can't send or receive mms and have no data connection. I try to get the proper apn and it says the user cannot make changes and everything is grayed out.

Then call Verizon. Verizon SIM unlocks its devices after 60 days. It's automatic.

Probably need to flash unlocked firmware so you have full access to all the settings like apn and such

From the way you've described. You cannot even put in apn settings?
Called Verizon and they said its unlocked and I cant change those settings even after the phone is unlocked so I'm screwed. There is no way for me to root and put custom firmware on it to edit that. I have a paperweight

Then you need to call Straight Talk. The issue is with them, or you used the wrong SIM. Straight Talk includes multiple SIMs in its packaging because it supports all four (three?) of the US carriers.
You can also check to see if your phone will work:
