* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

This is an AOSP-based build with extra contributions from many people which you can use without any type of Google applications.
Visit the CHANGELOG for a full list of changes and features!
All source code is available at the CyanogenMod Github! If you'd like to to contribute to CyanogenMod.

3. Install the ROM
4. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from earlier CM 11
1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Install the ROM (your Google apps will be backed up automatically)
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was it a hard reboot? Get me the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was it a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get me the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred
NIGHTLY BUILDS
Are HIGHLY experimental. Do not post issues to the issue tracker. Chances are the CM team already knows about the issue and are working to fix it. Be patient flash the next nightly. Complaning about battery life or any number of issues will not change a thing as to that these are EXPERIMENTAL builds!!!
M-Series
Something we have learned over the past few months is that if you don’t release, someone else will do it for you. Since we are open-source, we absolutely encourage it! Unfortunately, the quality of unofficial builds can vary, and we are serious about quality. Of course nightlies are always available, but we realized that having something that is a bit more stable on a more frequent basis is important. Starting now, we are rolling out our M-Series releases. M-Series builds will be done at the beginning of every month. We did a soft freeze of the code base for the last week, blocking new features in order to stabilize. Our plan is to continue this (assuming that the response is good) up until stable release, and onward.
We aren't exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.
M-Series builds will be available under the EXPERIMENTAL tag. The filename will include the date stamp as well as the M version. These builds should be stable enough for daily use, and we encourage feedback and bug reports.
RELEASE CANDIDATE
Everything is believed to be working at the time of release.
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES ARE NOT CM PROBLEMS, AND CAN NOT BE FIXED IN CM:
* Force closes / "boot loops" / bad permissions / etc when using Titanium Backup
* Non-working third-party camera apps that access the camera incorrectly via native code
* Battery usage/bluetooth/wifi/rebooting/etc problems while using a third-party kernel
* Bugs w/ Google apps
* Bugs w/ the recovery image (i.e., turning the screen on when you charge from off)

wow, that's pretty dickish. Considering the plethora of different JB gapps packages floating around, many of which have serious issues (ie, calendar sync), wouldn't it just be easier to link to a known working copy than to be snarky about it?

so put that in the OP instead.
The CM10/JB gapps link on that page is a relatively recent addition (I'd assume coincidental with the official nightlies starting); people who have been flashing the unofficial nightlies (or other ROMs) have not had the benefit of that link, most likely having a direct link from the OP of their ROM's thread, and then come here and get told they shouldn't be flashing if they can't find it themselves. Who does that benefit?

Just curious...Jelly Bean is supposed to have a more responsive UI; is it actually noticeably better on this phone's hardware? I'll flash it when I have a chance.

[ROM][JB] Team EOS 3 *JELLYBEAN* Nightlies

Team EOSJB 4.1.2 Crespo4gNIGHTLIES
Continuing on from the success of the EOS ICS roms, we present to you EOS3, based on JELLYBEAN!
It is the goal of Team EOS to develop and maintain the highest performing and most stable AOSP based rom for an array of platforms. For the latest news on Team EOS releases make sure you follow @teameos on twitter and on IRC on Freenode in #teameos.
--
NOTE: Team EOS, it’s members, friends, dogs, cats, and associates are in no way responsible for any loss of data or device functionality. Use this at your own risk!
--
A quick note on Nightlies: NIGHTLIES ARE DEVELOPMENT BUILDS. They are automatically generated every now and then, and represent the compilation of the latest commits to the code repository. While every effort is made ensure that the commits that are accepted are stable and do not have a negative impact to the overall performance and function of the builds it is not possible to test every aspect of a commits impact to the overall repo prior to it’s inclusion in a given build. As a result it is entirely possible that instabilities may be introduced as a result of a given days commits. That is the nature of the nightly system, and the risk that is taken using the latest code changes to the project.
EOS is an AOSP based rom. It is developed and maintained by Team EOS and is the culmination of our own in house development efforts.
Team EOS Nightly builds: http://goo-inside.me/devs/teameos/roms/eos3/nightlies/crespo4g/
G-Apps Package
Because this is an AOSP based rom Google Apps are not included in the base rom. To install Google Apps please flash the following package after installing the base rom:
Gapps package gapps
--
Features:
Because these are nightly builds the included features are constantly evolving, we do not provide a change log manually. Instead please see the changes on jenkins for your build.
For the most up to date and comprehensive listing of the changes included in this rom please visit http://review.teameos.org
Kernel:
Kernel Note: This rom is currently using the stock kernel, so you can find the sources from aosp.
--
Installation Notes:
These builds are designed to be installed from your favorite recovery.
Perform a full wipe (read Factory Reset) prior to installing this over ANY ICS or JB based rom.
BUGS!
If you find strange or otherwise unexplained errors please report them here: https://bugs.teameos.org/ Please include logcats and as thorough a description of the issue and what lead up to the issue as possible. With out this we will be unable to track down these errors.
Want to contribute to the Eos rom? Well you can!
Just follow http://teameos.org/?page_id=6 to checkout our source code, and information on how to submit changes for review.

In the latest nightly you will find a new app called CDMATools. I wrote it for toroplus. But I'm venturing into supporting other cdma devices as well. There is a feature called Get MSL. Can you guys test it and confirm it works? Thx.

hi,
I've just installed this ROM that looks like great! (and I've ported this thread in another italian forum...)
Only a couple of requests, if it's possible... :
Would you like to add the volume rocker wake mod, for the "almost broken power button" users like me, and, ever if it's possible, add the "quad lock screen"?
Thanks anyway!!

Ya. I think we may be able to do a tad better. It fascinates me how the demand for different features varies from device to device. Not saying that's a bad thing by any means. It's good because it spawns creativity and new ideas.

while using SlimKat 4.4 for the T Mobile Galaxy S4[/SIZE]
PLEASE make sure to thank the entire Slim Team for their dedication to this ROM
Please do not clutter any Development thread with non related development chatter
*
I am not the developer for SlimKat, SlimBean, Slim Fast, Fat Boy Slim, or anything else with Slim in the title.
This is NOT a development thread and as such is designed to be a little more noob friendly than a development thread. Please don't hessiate to ask any questions you have here, but please do try to search first to see if there is a known sollution to your issue before posting a new question about it.
If you have development related bug issue, send an bug report to the Slim team. See post 2 for instructions.
Please see this note from the Slim development team and PLEASE take it to heart!
Please note: SlimKat and KitKat in general is in an early stage. Still some apps are not compatible and still some devices have to fight with smaller issues on the other hands a lot devices are already quiet stable. Whatever please keep in mind that this builds are labled for a reason as beta builds. As a lot slim user know we only tag our builds stable when they are already 100% stable and all features are back. But you will be surprised how stable it is already

Indivudal apps need to be tweaks to run on KitKat. If you have a favorite app that doesn't work, check with the developer of that app first to see if it runs on 4.4 before asking why it doesn't work here. (If it was last updated in February of 2012 or something like that, it hasn't been tweaked for KitKat.). In short, it's probably not the rom's fault.
As of December 8th Blk_Jack is back on XDA with a new thread for Slim Kat!
That is a development thread. Keep your posts there development related. That does not mean "How come my phone no boot?" or "Thx for this ROM iz smooth like butta!". That means specific issues tht haven't been reported 900 times previously. Search that thread for a similar post to yours BEFORE posting!!!
Reporting Bugs:
The Slim Team has a very specific way they ask that bugs be reported. You can do it right through the bug report feature of the ROM. But do it this way...(This is right from the Slim site. It is the best way to make errors known to the Slim developers)
When you submit a bug you want to make sure that nothing from your side is causing it. Otherwise your developer might be hunting a bug which doesn't really exist. The best way to achieve this is by doing the following.
1. Make a nandroid backup.
2. Perform a full wipe (factory reset + wipe /system)
Now we have two different ways, 3A and 3B, depending on what kind of problem you're having.
3A. When you're having a problem with a ROM function, flash just the ROM without GAPPS etc. and boot back into the system. You will boot directly onto the homescreen.
3B. When you're having a problem with a 3rd party app in combination with our ROM then flash the ROM and GAPPS.
Boot now back into the system. You will boot to the setup wizard.
Log in to your Google account but make sure that you untick "Restore from my Google Account to this phone/tablet".
Finish the setup and open the playstore and download only the app you're having problems with.
Now when you're done with either 3A or 3B proceed with the following:
4. Now reproduce the bug (if possible more than once). After you reproduced the bug go into settings and SlimCenter and click on Bugreport. A bugreport.zip will appear on your sdcard in a directory called Slim.
5. Attach this zip in the correct thread along with your report. Please also write detailed description how we can reproduce the bug.
6. Restore your backup from point 1 and wait for a fix (don't ask for ETAs).

I know the device maintainers have been testing the S4 builds for a couple of weeks now and making improvements among their team. So you're not getting an early Alpha release here or anything.
The maintainer for the international S4 is very active in the i9505 forums and has been talking about SlimKat for a while, saying how stable it already is. That's pretty standard for the Slim team. They do not putz around with releasing buggy builds.
That said I'm sure it's not perfect yet. SlimKat isn't going to be 100% error free just yet and isn't going to help you create sustainable cold fusion or anything like that (yet...). So be prepared for a little wonkiness early on. But if history is any indicator, you can probabyl expect a really nice experience from from teh start.
Running good so far!! Missing some things from SlimBean that I really liked but being in beta they will eventually come. Will be my DD assuming I don't have any issues.

The main things are all the status bar tweaks (hiding battery and signal bars), no theme engine, quick settings are missing a few things, widgets on the lock screen. All I can think of right now.
Still a very solid rom though. Currently will be my DD.

You can enable the widgets for your lock screen. Only bug I'm confronting is that NFC doesn't turn off some times. I have to click it a couple times through the quick toggles. Besides that, I get FC's with gapps but that's been mentioned before.

No theme engine? What are we?
ANIMALS!? What's next, do we have to eat our young?!
I kid! I kid! I understand it's a beta. I'm just messing around. It is funny though, I've gotten so used to my orange themed Androids that its a shocking concept to think I might have to use the standard blue for a week! The horrors! (Again, I'm kidding. If anyone takes this seriously relax)
I do look at people who love TouchWiz and I can't figure out how they put up with not being able to change the colors. This is like the single greatest feature in AOSP ROMs to me, even more than all the actually important tweaks that make AOSP run so well.

There is already an update!
It's called Beta 1.1 Weekly and there is no changelog included with it so I imagine it's just some upstream updates and tweaks since yesterday and not a lot of major improvements. But an update is an update!

So far the beta builds give me trouble booting. I get hung on the splash screen a lot. It akes a bunch of chances to get it to boot. It always eventually works though.
Here's a list of what I've found is missing so far...
Transparent status bar
Dark Slim
Theme Engine
DPI changing in settings (Can probably still do it in build.prop)
List scroll animations
Probably more...
But it's all superficial stuff like this. The 'under the hood' type stuff all seems to work well.

I think that any KK gapps should work, so perhaps it is sufficient to add a link to gapps in OP?
I tried quite a few gapps packages on different devices, and these are the ones I like best http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2547250, as it allows to choose which gapps to install and/or remove. I usually prefer a minimal installation and then add gapps that are available from Google Play store (e.g. gmail, calendar, maps etc).
Sure, it is possible to manually delete from /system/app but it is nice to begin with a minimal clean installation, and avoid having stuff that doesn't work on our device anyway, such as photosphere, for example.
I think PA have several sets of Gapps to cater to different flavors as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942

I tried briefly last night, it booted, I tried with PA gapps (full) and had the google keyboard malfunction, so I didn't get far. I read that is an issue in other CM11 roms, and that the PA MODULAR gapps is the one to use due to the google keyboard conflict. I'll try it again on the next install. If anyone is flashing this, in the meantime, give that one a shot, it's in the link above.
The screen density (if that's the right term) is really tiny. Changing to 'large' font sizes under settings helped, along with changing lcd density to 200 in build.prop.
Thanks! And stay healthy Keifus.Rahn, hopefully building roms is theraputic and not stressful for you, otherwise, take KitKat's advice and 'have a break' for a while!
Thanks guys for the get well I had a rom up and working perfect last night but with my luck i received a email from a guy needing help with a whatsup app of a nokia well it ended up being a bad virus that was in every file folder I had so i had to remove everything to family photos and now starting from scratch im not going to post anything that may be a threat to the community so after i get threw re installing everything im going to get back after it and hopefully have something up by tomorrow eve. Ive already gave heads up to mike about the issue And a Heads up to you guys if you receive a email regarding help with any kind file bak,apk anything do not open and have them contact you threw your xda mailbox so if it is any kind of malicious files Ect XDA will be able to take care of the issue.

The OP did not compile or specify a set of gapps that work. It sounds like you need to read more of this thread. There is enough info that you should not need to have made this post.

Thank you for your productive comment on this. I am asking this question is not just for my benefit, but also for other members benefit as well. I, as one, can not test all the Gapps posted on this forum to see which Gapps works and which doesn't work. The more people test flashing Gapps the better and we can narrow it down to a specify one. I have read enough in this forum and have flashed countless devices, so don't tell me that I need and neednot to read. Off the record, I have flashed and a beta tester for more than 30+ devices.
Conversation ends.

Just flash any gapps- as long as they are for KK. Why do you think there has to be a specific particular set of gapps that works for our device?

Cause they usually are? I agree with him. Not everyone have the patience to try every gapps to see which works best

[ROM][I317/t0lteatt][KitKat/4.4.4][UNOFFICIAL]CarbonROM[Final](11/22/2014)

I have decided to build an Unoffical build of CarbonROM specifically for the t0lteatt/Samsung Galaxy Note 2 I317. Information about CarbonROM can be found in the official thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2640030 or at the CarbonROM website at https://carbonrom.org/. This is just a build from the official source at https://github.com/CarbonDev with a few of my own edits to allow it to build for the t0lteatt device tree. If you have any questions, or issues, please post them here, or try the official build available at the CarbonROM website at https://carbonrom.org/downloads/?d=t0lte/nightly. I am not a developer or maintainer, but I will try to assist you with any errors you may encounter.
I would just like to say thank you to Team Carbon for developing such a great ROM, everyone who have contributed to the project, and all other great projects which may have a part in making the ROM what it is.
Flashing instructions:
Download both the ROM and a GAPPs (I use PA Gapps, but other GAPPs such as Slim Gapps will likely work as well)
Reboot into recovery.
Full wipe: Wipe cache, dalvik, wipe data/factory reset, clean to install a new rom.
Flash ROM and GAPPs.
Reboot into system.
Enjoy your new Carbon experience.

I haven't been able to find any definitive reports of problems with flashing from TWRP 2.8. I use Philz and haven't had any issues with flashing this, or any other ROM. Have you had this issue with any other ROM? Have you tried flashing the official t0lte CarbonROM? My only other thought, right off hand, is to try a different recovery, but I know that isn't always such a good option. I'll keep an eye out for a solution and I'll let ya know if I find anything. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Have a good one!
This ROM is fantastic! On the official builds any theme would cause my System UI to crash multiple times, but not this one!
If you're looking for any requests/suggestions, I have a few:
-Search in Settings
-Disable Menu and Back button haptic feedback when they are disabled (I like it on the navigation bar)
-The battery icon doesn't seem to want to work with Tinted Status Bar Fix: Use Flat Style Colored Bars
-Apps like Reddit Sync don't take account for the navbar, and have the comments behind it, keeping me from reading/interacting
I think that's it! Thank you so, so, much for getting me a great daily driver!
I cant remember if it has an option or not but the ringtone only rings once then vibrated till i pick up i want it to ring always is there and option

Thanks for that synopsis. One of the main reasons I stopped using carbon was because of system ui crashing. About the boot this piece up! Thanks!
In Samsung the word Note 2 is pronounced t0lte.

Carbon source bug I believe...
Try downloading a ringtone of your choice using zedge...or any other free ringtone app....then set your new tone under settings...
That should fix you up...
I usually delete the on board tones anyway...since most of the choices are rather plain to me...
Good luck....g

It is my own ringtone from zedge I used the system ringtones and it works perfectly hmm must be SD card thing
Looks like this may be a one off build. Team Carbon is currently working on porting Lollipop to their various devices, so they've put a code freeze on any KitKat commits other than bug fixes. Only 4 merges were made prior to the code freeze, but these merges don't seem to be overly important for our devices, so they'd likely not be noticeable even if a new build was made. Also, there are reports that subsequent changes to repositories may have broke the build for KitKat, at this time, anyways (I can probably fix this in my build, if necessary). I'll keep an eye on gerrit for any useful bug fixes being merged, but until that happens (if it happens), I'll likely not do anymore builds for KitKat.
Have a good one!
I guess I was wrong about a one off... My final unofficial build of CarbonROM has been uploaded. Admittedly, this build is a minimal update and you may not notice any obvious changes, but there may be some changes behind the scenes that may correct an obscure issue, or not. As always, if you have any issues from a dirty flash, please try a clean flash before asking for help. Thank you.

It would appear that this is supposed to be a "feature" included by Google. In order to remove the "feature", Google's devs would need to decide to remove it. There's been a fair few theories on how to disable the "feature", but none of them seem to actually work, so it would seem if we decide to continue using Chrome, we'll have to deal with it for now.

I just used xfloatingwindows from xposed and black listed chrome and it seemed to work. One more question and I think I've got everything all set. At first I set an app to open when I swipe it left in the notification panel. How do I disable that feature? Overall this ROM is pretty damn smooth, I like it a lot

One quick question, is there an advanced reboot menu on the power menu, to allow for rebooting normally or into recovery?
