Amazing! Jelly Bean is slick. Nice work, man!
Just curious...Jelly Bean is supposed to have a more responsive UI; is it actually noticeably better on this phone's hardware? I'll flash it when I have a chance.

Meizu M9 Q'n'D port for Vision
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
03/20/2011 update: no progress made, throwing in the towel
I can't figure the framework out, every edit I make breaks something else. Long story short, this is a little too in depth for me! Between work and family life, I don't have the time to sink into this to figure it out. For anyone interested in picking the project up, I'd recommend trying to merge an updated Meizu /system dump. Once you do, you'll need to baksmali services.jar and make some major edits. Here's 3 more up-to-date /system dumps I've found around various fora:
system_v1.0.0-13940.zip - Mediafire
system_v1.0.2-14504.zip - Mediafire
system_v1.0.2-15033.zip - Mediafire
Good luck to anyone who decides to pick this up, it's no joke!
END UPDATE
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's a working port of the Meizu M9 ROM for Vision! I need your help debugging and testing the ROM. This is to be considered totally experimental, and is still in need of further development. I wouldn't recommend using it as your daily driver (although I suppose you could ). I'm looking for input from other hackers on fixing what's broken. Thanks!
Flash it with CWM. It will work with the latest version available in ROM manager.
Thanks to:
siulmagic - he started the port and got it booting. This wouldn't be possible without him.
eViL D - Pieces of this were taken from his MT4G port.
meltus - Pieces of this were taken from his N1 port.
XxDaLoWeSt1xX/MagnusRagnarok - Their work porting it to the EVO

Now, on to the details!
What works:
- Phonecalls/SMS
- Audio
- Microphone
- Data (APNs should work automatically)
- SD Card (recognized by phone)
- Sensors
- Keyboard
- Backlights
- Softkeys
- Accelerometer
- Haptic Feedback (needs to be enabled in Accessibility Settings)
- USB (debugging needs to be enabled in USB settings)
- Rooted

What's broken:
Major
- Wifi - enabling causes the phone to reboot
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- Mounting SD card via USB
Minor
- Resolution issues (framework edits are needed)
- Graphics issues (white on white text, etc)
- Time isn't automatically set properly. Manually set your time if it's off.. YMMV.
- Random Chinese text here and there

What I haven't tested yet:
- GPS
- MMS

Other things you should be aware of:
- The M9 ROM doesn't seem to sync well with Google. Your contacts will not be synced. I believe this is the intended behavior of the ROM itself, but I need to do more testing/investigating.

Included apps:
- Some Google Apps (Gmail/Maps/Chrome to Phone/Voice/Youtube/Search/etc)
- Wifi Calling (useless for now, wifi doesn't work)
- ROM manager

Good job by the way! I would flash it immediately but I don't have a data plan cause I don't really need it... I have Wi-Fi all the time.
btw mountig sdcard via usb works, you just have to do it a couple of times, eventually it will work. thats how it was when i last worked on my build.
hey guys,
i just tried it out on my gsm htc vision and i had a lot of problems even if the rom boot.
no sim detection. no keyboard/trackpad/buttons working.
i just can't try it more since i can't lock/unlock the screen and can't use the home button.
hope you'l lfix it, this rom sounds really interesting.
This build was edited by me (mainly for my personal use), based off of Zips Creamed Glacier's 3.11 release, but contains fixes I pulled from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1.
I don't normally start dev threads, so bare with me (I'm no dev)
What's new:
- Practically everything that's included in Zips Creamed Glacier 3.11 - includes, FFC unlock, Working games (Draw Something does work!), mdj's kernel and so forth.
- I fixed the weather/geolocation issues found in 3.11
- I fixed the USB mount issue in 3.11 (you couldn't mount as a mass storage device while the phone was on [gave you two options that didn't work])
- I fixed the full signal bars issue (reported full bars at all times you'd have service)
- Also included the romcontrol.apk from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1 and the settings.apk (for those who wanted ROM control settings but had to use the widget shortcuts to use them, you no longer have to as it's included in the settings)
- Replaced the systemui.apk with IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1's (you can haz 4g icons!)
- Replaced Trebuchet with Apex Launcher (This was part of my personal liking, Apex Launcher is the best ICS launcher IMO, try it out)
- May be forgetting something else...
All of the fixes mentioned above were fixed by pulling their respective files from IceColdInsomnia 6.2.1
* Don't ask any of the devs for wifi calling, as it's assumed to not work until T-Mo updates wifi calling for ICS (which should be whenever a T-Mo phone officially has ICS) or unless a dev performs some sort of magic ritual and get it working and stable

This is what I've got, thanks to one of our fellow users that found me on twitter and showed me this (I don't know what his user name is on XDA)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24210094&postcount=932
My thanks goes to:
- zipsnet - his 3.11 build was used as a base, that's why games work and etc. (ICS thread link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1555574)
- blackwing182 - for certain files from his build to fix usb and location issues and the AOKP files for ROM control (will post which ones they were specifically later) (ICS thread link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551456)
and those also to those mentioned in their thanks lists (tell me who I forgot to mention and I'll add you here)
Enjoy!

- Here's the flashable low mic fix by lincore: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24008900&postcount=531
- Don't use the DSPManager that comes with the ROM and complain about volume levels. I'm not sure if this info is correct, but after snooping around in other device forums, like always, a dev put in his OP that the DSPManager isn't really configured for ICS but instead for CM7. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I don't use the DSPManager anyways so

Basically all that you would find in zips' build, I think the only app I took out was trebuchet and the only app I added was apexlauncher. If not, I can fix them later.
For the low mic issues, I didn't put those in my zip, but I can post the link to the fix in my OP.
I love this version of Zip's rom. Very stable. Daily driver. Thank you.

This is the official nightly build of CM9 for the Galaxy S3 on AT&T. It's not a final release yet, but it's perfectly fine as a daily driver.
Known issues being worked on:
* LED is a little derpy
* Camera occasionally freezes
Install instructions:
1. Install ClockworkMod Recovery for "d2att". Sorry, CM cannot provide support for other recoveries, although they may work fine.
2. Get.CM for "d2att"
3. Reboot into recovery and install
(or just use ROM Manager)
Google Apps are not included in this ROM. You'll need to find those yourself if you want them.
This build is nearly complete and should make it into the 9.0 final release on time. We are also actively working on CM10 for this device, builds available soon! Enjoy!

Anyone else getting drain while plugged in? As in start using the device while it's fully charged and as it is on, the device gets hot and starts draining power. It might be an errant program but when plugged in, you can't tell that. I'll do a wipe to doublecheck though when I get to the office.
cyanogen,
are you concentraing more on CM9 or CM10 for the SGS3 right now?
and just out of curiousity, how is the one x going? just curious to see, who is ahead in the CM world. lol (I don't own one, just wanted to know)
FYI there is a bit of a glitch involving GPS and FB, apparently it has existed on CM9 for the Atrix as well.
Pretty much what happens is FB will cause GPS to hang, not sure if it's active or not, but turning GPS off does not resolve the issue where the icon remains in the status bar. Opening up Maps and closing it, will resolve it which leads me to believe it's a notification issue (the icon also before you open maps does not change, it's either the filled in circle or open circle) I've attached a logcat of such just in case.
EDIT: Anyone else having problems sending texts over 160 characters? The built in MMS app keeps splitting them and I can't see a setting as to why.
Anyone noticing huge battery drain with the rom?

NIGHTLY BUILDS
Are HIGHLY experimental. Do not post issues to the issue tracker. Chances are the CM team already knows about the issue and are working to fix it. Be patient flash the next nightly. Complaning about battery life or any number of issues will not change a thing as to that these are EXPERIMENTAL builds!!!
M-Series
Something we have learned over the past few months is that if you don’t release, someone else will do it for you. Since we are open-source, we absolutely encourage it! Unfortunately, the quality of unofficial builds can vary, and we are serious about quality. Of course nightlies are always available, but we realized that having something that is a bit more stable on a more frequent basis is important. Starting now, we are rolling out our M-Series releases. M-Series builds will be done at the beginning of every month. We did a soft freeze of the code base for the last week, blocking new features in order to stabilize. Our plan is to continue this (assuming that the response is good) up until stable release, and onward.
We aren't exactly sure what M stands for. “Monthly”, “milestone”, or perhaps “MINE ALL MINE!”. Whatever it is, I hope that we are meeting the needs of community.
M-Series builds will be available under the EXPERIMENTAL tag. The filename will include the date stamp as well as the M version. These builds should be stable enough for daily use, and we encourage feedback and bug reports.
RELEASE CANDIDATE
Everything is believed to be working at the time of release.
THE FOLLOWING ISSUES ARE NOT CM PROBLEMS, AND CAN NOT BE FIXED IN CM:
* Force closes / "boot loops" / bad permissions / etc when using Titanium Backup
* Non-working third-party camera apps that access the camera incorrectly via native code
* Battery usage/bluetooth/wifi/rebooting/etc problems while using a third-party kernel
* Bugs w/ Google apps
* Bugs w/ the recovery image (i.e., turning the screen on when you charge from off)

The CM10/JB gapps link on that page is a relatively recent addition (I'd assume coincidental with the official nightlies starting); people who have been flashing the unofficial nightlies (or other ROMs) have not had the benefit of that link, most likely having a direct link from the OP of their ROM's thread, and then come here and get told they shouldn't be flashing if they can't find it themselves. Who does that benefit?

Flashing this ASAP.
Thanks for doing this mark! And the CM team! Quick question; if coming from vicious cm10, I can just wipe cache/dalvik and be fine, correct? Thanks again.

wow, that's pretty dickish. Considering the plethora of different JB gapps packages floating around, many of which have serious issues (ie, calendar sync), wouldn't it just be easier to link to a known working copy than to be snarky about it?

So far so good. Still letting the kernel settle in.
Anyone having issues with the speaker? Can't play music or calls through it. Headphones/bluetooth work fine.
Running like butter besides that...

Planning to install tonight. One quick question though, does removing the 3 dot bar change the recent apps to a menu button or does it utilize the menu button that should be built in to apps?

Nice ROM so far, smooth and quick, will keep playing with it, keep up the good work, maybe now can get more roms going.
Re: [ROM][TOTEMC2] JmzTotemC2 3-2-2013
Everything so far has been running smoothly but I've noticed an issue with network connectivity. I haven't been able to get LTE since I flashed yesterday morning and occasionally my connection drops completely. Assuming this might be an APN or radio issue. Any ideas?

for the LTE, do me a favor. Run a speedtest when you THINK you should have LTE. I am pretty sure I broke just the icons displaying. I don't have LTE so I have 0 ways to test. If you are able to and around a computer when you have the connection drop get me a logcat. just run "adb logcat > file.txt" and post that file.txt here. Starting today I will use the VX as my daily and see if I have the connection drops too
Re: [ROM][TOTEMC2] JmzTotemC2 3-2-2013
I ran a speed test and I was definitely getting HSPA speeds. I'm at work though and I don't use my phone all that much and I can't remember if I get LTE here or not. I know I get it at my apartment though so I'll run another test when I get off. I'll try to catch that connection drop too.

I'm using this phone under TMobile and I get the "4g" icon, I don't know if this shows the "lte" or not, I know the htc vivid showed it when I had it.. Even when it was just stock rom with only root it still only showed 4g
Re: [ROM][TOTEMC2] JmzTotemC2 3-2-2013
Well I've been running it stock until yesterday and it would show an LTE icon underneath the 4G icon when it was connected. You can actually check in your Settings under About Phone > Network Information. It should be the 3rd one on the list. It'll saw LTE or HSDPA.
Edit: So I got home and all I'm getting is UMTS. I don't know what the deal is. I was thinking it might be an APN issue because that's always been the reasons for my connectivity issues in the past on old devices but apparently you can't edit the APN in the stock settings. Hopefully it's just the network in the area but if there's anything I could do to help test I'll give it a try. Also, here's my logcat from earlier http://pastebin.com/Yu7eknqM. Not sure if I caught it at the right time because it always disconnects when my screen is off.
