Does anyone have the pit file? I haven't seen it posted anywhere for the gs3. Thanks.

I've been looking for one too. There are a few out for the international, but nothing for the US variant. I think there are three versions for the international and each varies depending on how much internal memory your phone has.

Thanks man. Rwilco and I were going to make one click exe on the stock tar but we want the pit file in case the IMG files are corrupt. We were going to dump and make a lg8 one click Odin tar.

I don't know if anyone here has opened up their phones yet. Usually I'm the first one to take a peak inside and see what's going on but I'm chill until the white OEM parts come on the market then I'll open the phone up.
Until then I guess we have to wait. Not sure if I've seen a parts list out on our T989s yet.
Iphone people usually get first dibs on this stuff via ifixit.com

I think the OP is referring to the radio and not something physical...
are you talking about the baseband? if so what date does it say
Yes i do mean the baseband mine sbows uvki8.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
you mean UVKID?
thats what mine shows as well...
this phone has not seen any updates so there should only be one baseband for all of them so far....
Mine shows an older baseband UVKI8 therefor I would like to upgrade to UVKID.
There are several threads about sa vs gt and whether there are three versions etc.
Is anyone a model expert?
When my phone boots I get a gt I9100 splash (w yellow triangle - on fc18).
However once booted I go to about phone and it says sph-d710. A mod at Android Central said these are two different phones. What gives?
What are the SGS2 models? Difference?
I believe I9100 is the generic model number for all galaxy S2's but yes both are different phones. I9100 is generally referred as the original international galaxy s2

The gt-i9100 is the GSM international sgs2 the sph-d710 is the sprint epic 4g touch galaxy s2, they are 2 completely different devices in the same family. Your splash screen is like that from flashing a rom and increasing your download count thru Odin

Ok so I have a sph-d710 and the splash screen saying gt i9100 is just an image baked into the rom I flashed.
(And of course the yellow triangle is the increase my odin count. ): )
Good to know I might have flashed a wrong rom in the future for 9100.
The splash screen trips with the Odin count for some reason Idk what causes it I haven't gotten it yet but if you have a USB jig it will get rid of the gt i9100 splash, yellow triangle and reset the Odin count to 0

it trips it when u flash a modified kernel. ex: acs, repack, cwm. U can easily reset it with Triangle away, but it only works on ics roms

It only trips when.flashing thru Odin? Cuz i flashed a kernel in recovery and it hasn't shown up, I actually was kind of curious why my counter or the.triangle hasn't popped on me yet cuz I'm not real careful about preventing it, cuz i made a jig plus most damage to the device I can repair myself so I dont have insurance or TEP on it

That is correct, yellow triangle and ODIN Flash Count only increase when ODIN flashing a kernel not signed by samsung.
Auto Root, Mobile ODIN, and CWM do not trigger the yellow triangle nor do the increase the flash count.

Not to sound rude, but you obviously did not do "a ton of research", as you would have read that GSM, Verizon and Sprint images are not compatible with the other devices.
You have no other option but Odin when you see the screen you are referring to. Try it again.

No offense but people have been saying that for months. I am just as guilty. Everyone just needs to sit back and wait for the official ota. And honestly OP why does it surprise you that they released to S3 first? Financially think about it, why would samsung put out an update for a phone that is basically old news.
Dont get me wrong I love my e4gt but the s3 has much better specs.

it did and still does (i believe) but it also only has leaked ICS just like the E4GT. we are talking about the T-mobile and ATT SGSII got the ICS OTA already
Why does everyone care? Isn't that the reason that we are all on this site? To make our phones better then anything that is delivered OTA by Sprint? Sure the ROMs would be even better with source, but many of them are already incredibly good, and probably better then any stock ROM...

i dont really care for an OTA but i would like the source. there is so much more we could do if we had it....
Samsung is not holding up the show Sprint is.
It makes business sense. If we had ICS first I can easily see some people not upgrading to the S3. It has a nicer screen, a physical home button and better performance. That's really all it has over our S2.
The performance isn't even necessary, the S2 is still perfectly fast and will last us to the S4 at least.

I'm quite fond of the Four buttons at the bottom of my S2, I'd really rather not be stuck with just one, as on the S3 (reminds me of the iPhone)..
I also don't mind waiting for the Official OTA, after all, I much prefer a polished and stable release over something that could mess up my phone in anyway (even if it's just minor).

There's 3 buttons, but the home/ok button works as a mouse like on the Moment. You still get capacitive List and Back buttons.
srry for this new thread im very new to this but my sprint samsung galaxy s2 my friend recently try to root it and ended up messing it
the yellow triangle comes up and i can get it in boot downloader and it exactly says
ODIN MODE (in red)
product name: GT-I9100
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES (4 COUNTS)
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
and i have read mostly everything on try to turn it on to stock regular
but my computer isnt reading the phone like it wasnt even connected
and i just want to kno step by step what i need to download and what i need to do to fix it.
It looks like your friend tried to flash an international ROM to it... In that case, only Jtag can fix it. Mobiletechvideos will be able to help.

what or who is jtag but the thing is if i put it on a wall charger it works and the blue light is on meaning its charging
First. Are you 100% sure that what you have is the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4g Touch?
Second. JTAG is a way to recover hard bricked devices. It involves taking the device completely apart and flashing the stock firmware directly to the phone through the JTAG pads on the motherboard.
http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-epic-4g-touch-jtag-brick-repair/
Check them out. They do great work and offer a ton of services. There turn around time is great as well. They can even root and flash any ROM you like.

i think because when it used to work i connected to my bluetooth radio and it always said epic 4g touch so i thought it was one unless its not im not really sure
That would be proof that it is. I am afraid that your friend screwed the pooch. That device is only compatible with root methods and ROMs specifically made for it. Any other galaxy S2 ROM or root method results in the very least a boot loop and at worst a complete brick. You are stuck in between and require a JTAG.
